Going in August as always cant wait! I LOVE ALTON TOWERS ! U cant beat it in my opinion you can sence the magic i think no matter how old you are and i love th13teen
Reasons to get VERY excited about this ride: (1) penned by John Wardley, who designed NEMESIS, AIR, OBLIVION, DUEL and so on. (2) built by Gerstlauer, of SAW: THE RIDE fame. (3) will set a new world record for roller coaster inversions (4) this is John Wardley's LAST EVER roller coaster (he is retiring) (5) The trains have arrived at Alton Towers hinting that it isn't far from being done. (6) The Smiler features a vertical lift hill...this looks amazing!
The park IS open this weekend because I'm going on saturday for my friends party and it's all booked so... And this ride looks great, hopefully will get the chance to go on it later this year!
wow thats a well good recreation of the ride omg xx how did u get it that good all u need now is the real smiler theme song and that will make it feel like the real thing xx
Delays such as the snow put the construction behind. Rumors say that it is set to open 18th May, but no one knows for sure yet. And your correct about saying Saw and The Smiler are made by the same people, aka Gerstlauer.
I have been to America and been on a number of Rides, and since the early concept and plans was submitted for this Ride i was very excited as the ride gives us a chance to experience the Hulk and Kraken Rides as basically the Smiler combines a lot of Inversions from both rides. Since those plans we have seen a few more inversions added to what was already offering the selling points of Kraken and Hulk and thats without the 6 Marmalizing elements and the big Secret Weapon....
Wow! Your No Limits skills are fantastic! How did you make the building, and the paths and the spider-ish thingy etc? Did you use ctr's? Very excited about the Simler too, btw. I've been following it since 2012 as well!
There's speculation that The Smiler should be open by May 18th, a day after the media event. However, the recent marketing campaign AT is doing through a series of video clips, shows in the second video a hint towards a May 21st opening.
I've attempted to create a NL recreation of The Smiler, but by no means have the same skills as you, so I was wondering if you could give any advice, perhaps watch my POV although I have edited it a bit since uploading that.
Wait....so the track enters the station on the level above where it exits? Could this ride have a drop track like Thir13een? Also, your Marmaliser and track layout is spot-on from what I saw in the game! Let's hope that is the actual layout of the ride! I'm in America so I probably won't get to ride it though....:(
You can so tell its made by the people who created saw the ride at Thorpe park. It look amazing! I was supposed to go on my birthday but it got delayed until may. Anyone know why? I thought it was finished
US coasters are mainly about height/speed where as UK coasters have more compact and thrilling layouts. and the Gerstlaur thing, this is a custom train (from what i know) and will probably be smoother than Saw: the ride and such like
Why do people say that this is a copy of saw? It looks nothing like saw?! I don't remember this having a drop more than 90 degrees, and I don't remember Saw having 14 inversions either....
Hi Buddy, as posted on your other video, a download of this would be incredible, please drop me a pm. Looks increcdible love to have a browse with NL thanks
well the only reason this is compact is because Alton towers have a height restriction so they can't build higher than the trees around the park, because of the nearby village complaining... Also, At thorpe park there are high-ish coasters, Stealth, The Swarm... Etc. Plus height doesnt always make a good ride, for example, Kingda Ka isnt special at all. The UK have some Pretty Darn good rides. And just to say, you are correct with the Smiler having custom trains.
Oh, i know what you mean, Your on about that 'washing machine' thing, where it spins around. And thats already been said that its not going to be happening, And with now websites have come out to claim the coaster now has 15 inversions, but without any machine doing it for it, so We can rule out that element But anyway, still cant wait to see what it is!
this coaster is not a copy of saw at all, for a matter of fact its being manufactured and built by the same people as saw the ride but the smiler will have different elements to it, 14 inversion's (holy shit), and a its own unique world first feature. so its not a copy of saw the ride.
So a 8 million pound coaster with 14 inversions, a secret element, interactive theming and a giant theming element in the middle of the ride that sprays you with water and flashes about 20 strobe lights in your face is not enough??? sometimes the general public are so naive...
Going in August as always cant wait! I LOVE ALTON TOWERS ! U cant beat it in my opinion you can sence the magic i think no matter how old you are and i love th13teen
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. FIRST RIDE I'M GOING ON WHEN IT OPENS!!!
Been on this twice. Best rollercoaster I've even been on, ever.

An excellent pov ! even without the 5 effects its still better than any other ride at alton towers!
I can't wait to ride this thing. I love the recreation btw.
i only live 30 minutes away from alton towers!! can't wait for this ride to open! :D
Pure brilliance. Well done John Wardley the team!
WOW Perfection at its peak!!
looks pretty awesome, great video too.
The park IS open this weekend because I'm going on saturday for my friends party and it's all booked so... And this ride looks great, hopefully will get the chance to go on it later this year!
Going to alton towers later this year! And the best thing about it is that two of my mates are going on the exact same day :-D
wow thats a well good recreation of the ride omg xx how did u get it that good all u need now is the real smiler theme song and that will make it feel like the real thing xx

I'm going to The Smiler opening day in may and I'm sooooo exited!!!! Also the track layout it similar to Saw at Tjorpe park
Looking forward to ride THE SMILE at Alton Towers. I had to wait until I have enough money to go to this Theme Park after the coaster is done.
Congrats for making ITV news mate! :D
This looks like the best ride built in the UK to date!
I'm proud of you. You learned how to spell in a day and a half. Or rather, you learned how to copy and paste.

I'm going to alton towers on june 1st 2013 can't wait to go on the smiler but probs on to wait for 2 hours i'm guessing
Looks great!
Cant wait to go on this!!!!!!

I'm in America so I probably won't get to ride it though....:(
pesonally i tink this is a very good remake well done
That looks amazing
Yes it has. It's just not open to the public yet.
So were the drops after the lift and those hills changed in the actual ride being built or from the game that they released or both?
omg i can't wait to ride this!!! i'm going with my school in june
You can so tell its made by the people who created saw the ride at Thorpe park. It look amazing! I was supposed to go on my birthday but it got delayed until may. Anyone know why? I thought it was finished
Im going to alton towers in may, and going on smiler can't wait >.< *.* :)
After the first Inverted Drop, what is the next double inversion? Does it have a name yet?
I can't wait to go on that in the summer holidays alton towers here I come ;)
Really? Have you even ridden anything here? Coz I can tell you, the coasters here are EPIC.
cant wait to go on it, looks like a mix between Saw and Colossus at Thorpe Park:D
luckily it is open now!!!! it opened on 28 may at midday
Goin On The 22nd Of May I Really Pray This Ride Is Open, Does Any1 No Wen Its Suppose To Be Open To The Public???
US coasters are mainly about height/speed where as UK coasters have more compact and thrilling layouts. and the Gerstlaur thing, this is a custom train (from what i know) and will probably be smoother than Saw: the ride and such like
not forgetting how many times it goes upside down, it has no vertical loops
I'm going with my school so would be great to tell everyone if it was open ?
Maybe you have to go to the ticket/sales office to see about the ticket, I don't know the full thing 100%.
I really enjoyed watching this vidieo
i think the worlds first element is just the 14 track inversions or the interlocking cobra roll and batwing
the ride opens in May.
Woop! Can't wait!!!
10? There are now at least 14, Maybe more! Haven't you been keeping updated? Its not joint, this is now the record holder.
Hi I'm going may the 22nd will it be open by then ?
Nope, it was meant to be open on the 23rd for bank holiday weekend but they have had technical difficulties.
Why do people say that this is a copy of saw? It looks nothing like saw?! I don't remember this having a drop more than 90 degrees, and I don't remember Saw having 14 inversions either....
It opens on the 23rd May.... It has definitely been built ;)
1 ticket please! I expected more psychological fears as they mentioned in an article, but um...ok. Id love to go there.
FUUUUUUCCKKKK I need to go on this! But its apparently 165 seconds long, imagine the queues for it! :o
Gonna be great!
14 inversions!! EPIC
AWESOME!!!
Yep. It's amazing isn't it. Plus it's gonna hold the world record!
You do realise how long the q times will be for it???
I'm going on Monday 20th may can someone tell me if it will be open by then?
You need to update again
Is there sposed to be a theme to the ride?
This looks a lot like it because I've got the game but isn't it supposed to have flashing lights?
You make me chuckle :')
Its change to Sometime in may, sorry to disapoint you
Hi Buddy, as posted on your other video, a download of this would be incredible, please drop me a pm. Looks increcdible love to have a browse with NL thanks

Two hills.
Maybe use TTD as your example :) Although I agree, this looks much better than either of those.
where do you buy nolimits coaster ?
It's not open this weekend
most of the parks are themed in the US, ive been to most of them i would know
it;s actually the same manufacturer of saw so they undoubtedly will have similarities.
What ever happened to the simple turn?!?!
Im sad because im going in April, im going to miss it. :(
I was ment to go on the day it opened but they changed it to may
this coaster is not a copy of saw at all, for a matter of fact its being manufactured and built by the same people as saw the ride but the smiler will have different elements to it, 14 inversion's (holy shit), and a its own unique world first feature. so its not a copy of saw the ride.
why is everyone complaining it looks sick, i think it looks alot better than air and nemesis.
This is the smiler..... not 13??
It's an amazing software called nolimits
this coaaster is the record holder for most inversions on any coaster, more than colossus at thorpe park
Will it be open 28th may?
where is the secret element going to be ???
it is open to the public...
Why is it called the smiler?
It's open I saw people riding today
May 23rd here I come!!!
>Implying Saw was the first Eurofighter model
The game is in the play store and its pretty fun :)
music is from scp 087?
omg amazing
Having a beyond vertical drop in the X Sector would massively detract from Oblivion.
really cool
I'm going Alton Towers tomorrow

I went today but it was closed! :(
