Hello, i am french and i just discovered your channel. I subscribed and i will be following your work on this house. I think there is a lot of potential.I love the place and Mani is so beautiful. During the last 12 years , we have visited Greece one or twice a year and thinking moving there part of the year when we will be retired. It is a dream so for now i will be watching your greek dream. I wish you success and have fun!
Hi Sylvie! Thank you so much for your lovely comment! We are certainly very much in love with the Mani but would love to explore more of the whole of Greece. That is not so easy with 2 dogs though... the potential of the house is huge, like you say, and we are very excited to have started the work. And we can't wait to share the whole journey with you!
Oh Bee, you and Simon have found a beautiful (but again, with tricky access 😅) home to breathe life back into. The views and sunsets are stunning! May you both be very happy and thank you for sharing the beauty of Greece always 🇬🇷💙
I am delighted the algorithm found me. Sending love, patience and energy. I will be following your journey and one day I will also take the leap to fulfil similar dreams 🙏🏼🇬🇷♥️
@EvmolposCompany thank you so much for your good wishes, and you are so right- Greece is a lifelong journey. Congratulations on your new home!!! So happy that you’re back on TH-cam!!! It will be a pleasure to rewatch all your old episodes !!! Looking forward to all future episodes !!!
I just got home hot and bothered from an evening out during a heat wave here in Canada - so I could relate. But then your great news literally changed the channel and I'm thrilled for you and sooo excited to follow your journey with Simon again. P.S. Happiness and perseverance suit you, so no need to worry about the other stuff. 💌
Hello Wanda! It is still the same here, yesterday we worked on the house in 38C degrees and high humidity. LOL, so I can relate too. Yes, we are absolutely over the moon and just so relieved that it is all done and we can now finally settle. Stay cool xxx
Yes, we knew this is the house for us. You know us, we love quirky and unusual. This is definitely quirky and magical and just amazing. We are so happy right now.

Congratulations Bee and Simon on your new house!! What an amazing location. Can’t wait to see your progress. It’s so fantastic to see you back!!! 🥰 xxx
Thank you so much for your lovely comment Angie. We are super excited to have finally got there and start the work. Autumn will be so good as it will be much easier to work with better temperatures. We have great ideas 💡 ❤😊

Hello Carol, thank you so much for your lovely comment and yes, the new place is certainly unique and magical, just like Lina was but less remote and with the backdrop of quiet village life. I am looking forward to capturing this life of ours xx

Hello Bee & Simon. Congratulations on your new home. I can see you putting down roots there and you will bloom🌺 The wild Mani is a beautiful region. We are currently nearby and see what you see. Have watched you from the outset, keep on doing what you do best. Καλορίζικο!!!

Thank you so much. And yes, absolutely, Pomegranate doesn't need much water but we have had a terrible drought this year and we water the trees every 2 weeks a little to give them some much needed water. Many od the olive trees have dropped their fruit 😢 it will be a very bad harvest here in the Mani.
@@BeeLovedGreece You're welcome! I brought my teenage daughter to Greece again a few weeks ago (from Cleveland, Ohio) in order to show her where her grandparents are from (to trace her roots), and we visited the island of Paros, Nafplio, and drove south through Tripoli and Sparta, then south to Elefonisos and Monemvasia. This was Part 2 of our trip to Greece 2 years ago. Our family is from 2 small gorgeous and scenic mountain villages above Nafpaktos, and my grandmother's house built in 1912 is still standing, and in great condition! The house is huge too, with the original wooden floors (hand cut), wine cellar, and ceramic roof replaced around WW2! I am seriously thinking about moving there soon (i'm 63), but the only thing holding me back is my heart disease that would require for me to be around good hospitals, 'just in case'!
So so beautiful, simple stunning. So pleased and happy for you both. Your wonderful heartfelt videos always brings tears to my eyes, tears of joy and much love. Thank you lovely for sharing. May you both be fruitful in all you. All good things comes to those that wait :-) Much love Susie xxx
Congrats! the house looks amazing! Just watching your video about not succeeding on YT and needing to niche for the algorithm. Well your niche is me! I watch every single video all the way through. It’s the ‘solo over 50 living abroad niche’ without the solo bit! Your audience watch ‘Indigo Escape’ and all the couples in Portugal like ‘Frankie Off Grid’ and the pair from Malta who live in Portugal who were on Ben Fogle’s ‘New Lives In The Wild’. So delighted to see you turned your old videos back on - they are beautiful!
Hey Nicola! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. Yes, I think the niche is you, and all these other wonderful dreamers who dream of a better life and love watching others who are trying to live their dream. I have thought a lot over the past few weeks, and you are right, 50 is the new 30 and 70 is the new 60 and there is still so much that we have to offer. We have a certain depth and life experience that younger people don't have and I certainly intend to incorporate this into my vlogs. I think people are looking for this kind of steadfastness and hope that if others can do it, they can too! Thank you so much for your support. xx
Hi just found you …. Starting to live the dream v excited for you love Greece your house and location is truly SPLENDID! 🥰 looking forward to you generously sharing thank you x Good luck!
Yes, we are very excited about the project. Lots of work but soooo much potential for both house and garden. We have many ideas but want to see how things develop and feel ❤ we are in no hurry.
It is just incredible. We never thought we would be able to top the view we had at Lina, but we did. We can now see all the way north towards Kalamata and all the way across to Koroni and the south of the peninsula. It is spectacular. This morning I just sat a moment in the garden to take it all in.
Thank you for clarifying, I was a bit confused. Congratulations on this wonderful chapter! I will watch! You need to give and create this content. You’re living and building what we all wish and dream of doing. Bravo

What a wonderful film and I feel privileged to be a small part of your journey, on day one. I’m moving to Cyprus soon so will be checking your TH-cam regularly for tips & updates.
Hi Jason, thanks a million for your lovely comment, and how wonderful that you are moving to Cyprus soon, that is so exciting! Wishing you all the best of luck with your new home.
where is this place? I live in central Greece, glad you found the home of your dreams, welcome to our country ❤❤have a happy life together with Simon!!!!! I will be looking forward to see the renovation😊
Peloponnisos (or the Island of the Pelops) is the best option! Why? It is large and you will never feel that you are in a tourist trap Island! Has mauntains, lakes, rivers, the sea, beaches, good roads, Large cities, Has many archeaological sites, it is like an open-air museum. Has access to the rrest of Greece and the rest of Europe by car and no need for ferrys or airplanes Has good hospitals and medical care in Patras and Kalamata Does not close down in Winter like most islands in the Aegean Sea
Absolutely, you have mentioned just about everything that we love about the Peloponnese AND it has the loveliest people too! Thank you for your fab comment!
Hey Gianni! Yes, all is well now and yes, we did get the title of the chapel. The clergy in Gythio confirmed this is a private chapel so all is well now and the chapel is now registered in our name at the cadastre which is fantastic.
@BeeLovedGreece I finished watching your video. You are in Nomitsis. Looked on the map, and you are close to Ag. Nicholas, where we stay each year at a beautiful villa resort. Truly wish you a great life in beautiful Greece.
The fact that foreign people came and live their best life here in Greece but the Greeks can't even survive in their own country and they have to leave it is devastating and makes me mad.
@cruelladevil967 Yes, I understand that. I have already had several long discussions about this with other people on my channel. I can tell you that the same is said of the "foreigners", including Greeks, that come to the UK, the US, Germany, or the Netherlands, taking "precious" jobs there. I don't buy into this. Migration is positive. People have migrated forever since the beginning of time. People will always look for better fortunes. As long as they contribute positively to the local society, it has merit. We employ local people to help us rebuild the house, and we shop locally, spending our money with local growers, builders merchants and supermarkets. If the Mani and Greece in general weren't booming because of a buoyant housing market, Greece's unemployment figures would be so much higher and poverty an even bigger problem. And so you still couldn't buy a house. Here in the Mani, builders are doing well for themselves. They have thriving business. They have to work hard, granted, but they are able to buy houses for themselves. That is only possible because there are so many foreigners in this area who invest into the area. Everything has its positive and negative.
@@BeeLovedGreece I don't think 8 blamed the foreigners for anything. I am just saying that we are forced to leave our country because the government doesn't give a shit about its own people. Migration is good only if you want to go to another country not if your own country forces you to live. Learn a bit about the employment situation in Greece and then we can talk. People around my age with 2 and 3 degrees are forced to go to another country because here they refuse to pay the legal salaries. When the basic salaries here is 800 euros you can't live not even to survive.
@cruelladevil967 I totally agree, the government is to blame for the appalling situation. I hope it will soon start to get better for everyone in Greece, including its own people. Pay is ridiculously low, especially for those who have studied a long time. Let's hope Greece will continue to have strong growth so everyone can prosper.
@@BeeLovedGreeceDiscussions are not telling the whole story. They are incentives against locals. There used to be laws that did not allow foreigners to buy homes in Greece and should have stayed this way. I have lived in the UK and would never live there. We belong to Greece. Greeks have not been treated well in the countries you mention and have been treated like the poor men of Europe. So yes anglosaxons destroyed my country
The problem with us Greeks, is that we always try to find someone to blame for our issues. This is childish and brings no change. What happened , happened. And most of Greeks of a certain age have contributed to the issues one way or another. Greeks should 'grow up' and assume responsibility for their future. Change always starts from within
If you're back in the Peloponnese your life will once again be consumed by strays. I hope this time you will be able to step back and not let it get to you because nothing ever changes. Good luck.
Hi Angelique! So lovely to see you. Yes we are back in the Peloponnese and the dogs are a big part of the decision to come back :) I have decided to become part of the solution and am very involved with the local animal rescue. I am currently working on a bigger project with them to get more land so we can shelter and rehabilitate more strays and it feels amazing to be part of this. It feels good to have purpose this way. :)
Only just found your channel. It was so lovely learning about your life and dreams. The house is fantastic and I’m looking forward to watching your plans for it. My heart just burst when I read about your involvement and plans for the stray dogs. I hope you can get closer to the one in the village. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful video. I will subscribe now and so looking forward to the next video 😀😀
Water is expensive there unless you connect to agricultural water!!!! May be you have a well? Buying and selling a property is a nightmare in Greece as is anything else to do with beaurocracy. How far from an international airport. Doctor, pharmacy, supermarket?
Hi Tom, trust me, water is not expensive compared to what we used to pay in the UK (where there is plenty of water!). We think we have an old, disused well, but not sure, but hoping to find out in the next weeks. Greece certainly tests your patience, especially with beaurocracy, but in the end it is totally worth it. We are 1.5 hours from Kalamata airport, docs, pharmacy and supermarket are 10 minute drive. It is great!
@LaTraviataaa I so understand your frustration. Prices here in the Mani are insane now. It is hard to find anything below 250K. We bought a very old house that needs a lot of work, and that is the only one we could afford. It was well below 150K. But we are willing to invest our time and skills to renovate the place between the two of us. It is the only way we can do it. A house in the UK is astronomical now, same in the Netherlands and Germany. We totally understand your frustration about not being able to afford a house in your own country anymore. I feel for the younger generations of Greeks who have to move abroad in order to find work and a better fortune. It is hard.
@@BeeLovedGreecefirst, all the best with your home. Has it occurred to you that it is because of the surge of foreigners like you buying greek land, it has driven Greek real estate prices through the roof and have made Greece unaffordable to its very own citizens inside the country and abroad? The current Greek government and the European Union are responsible for selling the country piece by piece and of course Northern Europeans are flocking in to buy a piece of the Greek paradise at STILL cheap prices in relation to their European incomes and assets. FYI, Greece looks and feels foreign to many Greeks these days.
I feel a bit strange when I see videos like this. Northern europeans who have been really arrogant all their lives towards southern europe, they change suddenly when they get older, and they realize that north europe is just a factory and not a place that someone wants to live in. Then they move south to enjoy life. I hope you will have a nice time here.
I understand your confusion. I would like to argue though, that many northern Europeans are not arrogant, but actually very nice people. I have met equally arrogant Greek people. As for reasons why people move.. Many in Northern Europe cannot keep up with the price rises for rent and food and just simple living costs and decide to take a big leap of faith and move somewhere kinder and less expensive. It is one of the reasons why we moved to Greece. We simply can't afford to pay out over 15.000 Euros a year just for rent, that is without heating or water! So many of those who wish to live a gentler life rather than be caught in the rat race of northern Europe make the move because of economic reasons, which is exactly what the 5 million Greek Diaspora population did, when they looked for new opportunities in northern Europe, Australia and the US. In comparison - approximately 17.000 UK expats live in Greece. I think this is often forgotten, how many Greek people left to find better fortunes elsewhere.
@@ΣυλβάναΜανγκανο yes, always plenty of them about. Luckily the grass was cut short because of the new land cleaning law, so we can see better what is lurking.
@@BeeLovedGreece There is also a powder people use for snakes that deters them from approaching that you put around at the edge of the property. It doesn't harm them, it just has a strong enough odor for the snakes to avoid. In general though they'd avoid people.
Yes, there are a few things that have to be fulfilled when monetised and one of the requirements is to stay on the 4000 watch hours, which drops away when you don't produce consistently in 365 days... I lost my status because of that.
I have to say that the title is misleading because you talked about your dream house but don't even go inside of it and don't show it until the last minute or so from the outside
@joyannesloan8384 hi there. I am a bit confused. The land and the outside of the house are part of the house too? You can see the full house tour in the next video. The title is "House Tour". Let me find the link and drop it down below for you 🥰

@@BeeLovedGreece Thank you for the respond anyway!, you are really kind. That comment was actually a message from a Greek to the Greeks who made a comment to your video, they understood what I meant. Let's say, that as a Greek who lives now abroad I am really annoyed of our behavior. We are pretty polite , good and generous to foreign people, but really mean to each other. But do not be surprised, that is in our blood since centuries. Look in the ancient time, Greeks had always war with each other, Athenirs with Peloponnesian, then Troes with the rest of the Greeks, and the List goes on and on....We have putted our national heroes in jail...It doesn't have to do with you or your video, I am a little bit ashamed of my people, they run to make a comment, when a foreign make a video of our country, but don't be fooled, it's not that they like your video but it's because, they like "their ego"...
Lucky you. You have escaped the problems of England. Enjoy the different life style. If you ever have the opportunity, visit Voidikilia beach, will blow your mind. Greeks now have to be very careful. Foreign investment will ruin Greeks and Greece.
You are right about foreign investments. The politicians of Greece, not the Greek politicians, have sold it out to foreign interests. However, Greece survived 500 years of Turkish slavery and will always survive. The problem with Greeks is that they are not united and only come together when threatened by an external enemy. This is exactly what their ancient ancestors did as well.
@@dimikarajan ήσαστέ Ελληνίδα; I did not know there are politicians of Greece and Greek politicians. What does that mean? If you are interested I would like to continue this further.
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 Yes, I am Greek. The answer to your question is that those who govern simply do not have a Greek conscience. They do not love Greece. On paper, they are Greek, but they only love and believe in money. It’s a bit difficult for me to analyze this further because, as is well known, Greece has centuries of history. And within this history, mistakes have been made. If you want, search the internet (but from Greek sources, and then have it translated into your language) for the Peloponnesian War, the bad Byzantine emperors, and the Greek Civil War after the end of World War II. Nowadays, my country is suffering from wildfires. Entire forest areas have turned to ashes to make way for wind turbines. Some people were bribed to allow this. As I mentioned, there are many things like this. Have a nice day.
@@dimikarajan I am of Greek descent and have visited Greece many times. And am very well versed with the Papaflessas story if that is what you are eluding to. I have even done business in Greece buying property in both Monastiraki and in Kalamata. My next purchase will be in Crete which I am currently negotiating. The thing that I have found about Greeks and don't take, this as a personal attack, Greeks are liars, thieves and don't care about anyone but themselves. The Greeks rip off the government, the government rips off the people and Greece even lied to join the EU. In order to get anything done in Greece you have to keep paying cash to people in order to get anything done. There were fires in Greece a few years ago. And many houses were lost in the fires as there are now. . Now, here is the rule in Greece. If you have poured the slab/ concrete foundation for your build, then you can proceed with no obstacles. Greece is now for sale and foreigners are buying. Which will push and has pushed Greeks out of the buying market. I will give you a word of advise, do with it what you will. At all costs, stop the Chinese investment. They will add no value to Greece. They will build their own hotels. Bring in their own people to run them. Bring in their own tourist guides and buses and even only eat in their own restaurants and leave no money in Greece, and the government of Greece will allow this. feel free to think of me as just an old buffoon, and when that day comes true, remember me. The pleasure has been all mine.

Congrats! the house looks amazing!
Thank you so much for your support. xx

@BeeLovedGreece thank you. Is the airport international summer and winter or only summer?
@tomhermens7698 summer season only but it is a long season - March till Mid November 😊
I am greek, I have studied for more than 15 years, I moved to Germany, I work for a big international company and can not afford a house in Greece.
It is hard.
@@BeeLovedGreece thank you, I will be in Mani this August. My great great grandfather was from mani. It's an amazing area to live. Wish you the best 💕
in Greece the houses they cheap where i live over million
@user-rl7cu4sh4s Yes, there are cheap ruins.
Watch out for snakes!
@@BeeLovedGreece1/2 cats will do the job in your courtyard !

Hi there! Yes, the UK is a mess, but I am not from the UK but the Netherlands originally and have lived in several different countries. It is good to experience many different cultures. To be fair, I think most countries are facing huge problems, the world is such a mess. So it is not just Greece. As long as greed will rule, nothing will change and people will suffer.
