Great reading these comments. I've met Robben Ford twice and went to many concerts, including Bakersfield, CA...he's always so down to Earth easy to talk to, never putting on anything but a genuine vibe.
Long may we have this great amongst us!

Sometimes, it's easy to forget what a fantastic, percussive rhythm guitar player Robben Ford is. Great rhythm playing here by RF.

And the invisible man who has played with everyone from EC the Stones and Mad Dogs and English Men ect Chris Stainton add Doyle Bramhall and the reason this video showed up in my feed Robben Ford, people use the term under rated to offen but Robben has to be the greatest guitar player that nobody besides players know ,there is a body of work that would take me an our to jot down, from Miles Davis to Michael McDonald
Charlie Musslewhite to Joni Mitchell and everyone in between and an extraordinarily humble man who I believe stays out of the limelight intentionally.

Robben tears into one of his beautifully crafted blues solos, drawing you in with interesting lines, ripping an exciting second half, and cooling down to the groove just in time. It’s pretty standard for him, but what was delightful was how much positivity he was sending, having a good time, and pleased he could make the guys with him proud.

As a Robben Ford fan for most of my life, it´s a joy to see him playing with Clapton and to see them having a blast playing together such a powerful song. Simply beautiful. They should record an album together and I´d be happy haha

This kind of stage exposure is long overdue since Robben’s brief moment with Miles Davis - Robben was ecstatic throughout and what a solo he played - a little of everything and perfectly measured to the groove. A lesson to us all - you get your chance, you take it and give it your very best. It’s obvious Eric loved his solo - the look he gives the other guitarist like “man that was good”!

My session mate Wayne Perkins played bass on Cocker's original version. Wayne was a great guitar player but he played bass on our Jerry Wexler-produced sessions down at Quinvy where I was the house guitarist. They needed a bass player to fill in on this session up at MSS and called Wayne to come up and cover. Wayne said he had no idea about what to play on the track, so he just thundered along and let Beckett and Jimmy J carry all the riffs. Great track. Wayne went on to play in the Gap Band with Leon, and played on the Stones "Black & Blue" album and toured with the Stones briefly.

@@tedimmonen2743 He has been with Clapton for a long time and this song was a Joe Cocker song that he originally played on. One of the many things that make Clapton great is that he has always tried to point the spotlight toward the music of others as much as his own.

@@paultiplea I'm gonna lose some too by explaining, but last year ago he commented on the side effects the Jab had on him, his hands suffered, etc. He also made some protest songs and some of those lyrics may have been misinterpreted by some fellow musicians. Google it, but by any means do not read the hit-piece that Rolling Stone magazine or Washington post did on him. Disgusting. Funny how just today he and many other start to be vindicated. Peace.
