    I agree with Nick on this one. People need to stop setting up these guys for failure when they don't meet ridiculous expectations. The problem with putting someone's "ceiling" as the GOAT is that much of that is dependent on stuff that has nothing to do with the player being considered. Otherwise, we would just assign the GOAT automatically to whoever eon the most MVPs, since that's something they have control over.

    • @panic_diver
      @panic_diver 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Even players dont have control ove the MVPs. Its 99% times the best player on the best team. You have to win a lot as a TEAM to be even considered an MVP. There have been numerous seasons by Kobe, Bron where their stats were off the charts but they didn't win MVP because they didn't win enough or were not the top 2 seed.

      But usually the best player in the league makes their team so much better that they do get a good seed in the playoffs and that helps them become the mvp tho. When was the last time a guy should have won mvp that didn’t make the playoffs? That doesn’t happen. Theirs never a mvp on a 6 seed cause the players on the 6 seed don’t have ridiculous seasons usually. Usually the top 3 seeds have a guy that played better than the rest of the players that season.

Chet Holmgren suffered a season ending injury trying to defend a LeBron who was going easy, before the season even started, he's built similarly to Wemby, you can't see him if he turns sideways. I'm not familiar with really any other basketball league outside the NBA and based off the 15 second clips of him playing there I've seen its hard to really get a good grasp on the difference in talent and athleticism, its safe to say the NBA is the elite of the elite, so who's to say his game just doesn't translate as well. He will be bullied in the post and after watching him play a lot his shooting is alright but not great which I believed was the case since everybody was fawning over the kid. Now that 7'5 frame is unique but he is so skinny.
      Its different when hardened grown men will test him physically, NBA is not the french league. Even for lebron it took 2-3 years for me to believe the hype that he could be one of the greats. Cant we just wait and see him play for at least a couple of seasons in the NBA.
