I have 3 in a 20 long, they are awesome! Pretty picky eaters for me, I feed them mostly frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms but you could probably get them to eat other stuff too. Other than that Ive had em for a year with other micro fish pretty easy cool to watch them eat and they chill on the side of the glass occasionally. I keep them around 75-77 btw at around 7 ph.

Clown killies are my favorite! I visited your store last weekend while in Seattle and I was so impressed by how pristine your tanks are! Puts Wet Spot to serious shame. The apisto caves I bought from you are freaking perfect and I can't find them anywhere else. While I wish your bettas had like double the size container they are in, that system is amazing! Heated and filtered tanks and not little tiny cups. Thanks for caring about your fish instead of just making a profit off them.

Annulatus gets shy, when you put them together with other fish's. They won't probably leave the surface. They may seem small, but you can hold them in bigger tanks too, as long the tank isn't that high (35cm max.). I had 35+ in a 50g tank. If you hold them solitary, they do crazy things, even eating from the ground. Fruit fly's are a must, at least once a week and flakes are a no go.

Breed hundreds of them in a 5 gallon. Have a large walstad vase set up for a couple months now. Using deep bed used scoria filter media from my canisters as the lower level. So cycled completely and if anything it's acting like a mature 6 month plus setup. Going to add 10 of these and see what happens. Tried shrimp and had a betta living in it the last month, with no issues. Still getting very low readings of nitrates, but I think once the plants fill in more it with solve that. But no problem at all to do a water change. Takes me 5 minutes. It's about 20 or so liters, with is under 5 gallons I think. Not much surface area, but I have a small filter in there just for aeration and water movement.

Can you do a video breaking down the average costs of the initial setup and yearly maintenance for different sizes of freshwater aquarium? Like how much should I expect to spend over the course of a year for planted 10 gallon tank, compared to a 30, or 55 gallon? I know cost scales exponentially with size, but I'm having a hard time determining where the breaking point is for my budget ($500/yr). I want to get the most for my money, while also having happy fish! I'm considering a school of Neon Tetras, or maybe some Sparkling Gouramis, with a few Corydoras and maybe a Nerite or two.

I had a few of these together with a few endlers in a 5 gallon. They all died, but in a very weird way. They would seperate themselves and die one by one.. while the other ones were totally fine. In the end i had 2, who were doing well, 1 eventully died, and the last one, who was totally fine for months, suddenly seperated and died.. I stille dont underatand what happend

    • @matttourney6308

Zoom I have had the same experience. They die off one at a time. Once you see it hiding near the bottom, it’s just a matter of days before it expires. In my experience, aggression plays a role. No one ever mentions how aggressive they are with each other.

They do best in soft, slightly acidic water. If you don't have that you'll have a hard time keeping them alive. Also lots of live plants and temp at around 24-25 degrees celsius (don't know what that is in fahrenheit sorry) is great for this fish in my experience

Hi! Hope you see this comment. I wanted to ask you about my betta. He's about 5-6 years old, and the other day, I noticed his stomach was VERY large. No one else feeds him besides me, and I feed him about every 2-3 days, and make sure I don't over feed him. He lives in a 5 gallon tank with a filter and all the good stuff. I'm just wondering if you know why his stomach would blow up like that, and if maybe it's a sign that he's on his way out. Thank you in advance!

I have struggled with this fish over multiple attempts. Low survival rates from my LFS. Also, in my experience, these fish seem to be pretty aggressive with each other. Even with juvies all the same size, it seems like the dominant one bullies the others and they die off one at a time. I’ve gone through multiple batches and just can’t seem to establish a sustainable group.

I dont know exactly how big it will get (currently about 2 inches), I currently have a 10 gallon but am upgrading to at least a 50 within 6 months. Wikipedia said 17cm (6.6 in) as "avg" size. I got it because it was am unique fish. I currently have it with a goby and some tetra (I'm pretty sure they wont make great tank mates for to much longer)

Hey Kory. I was wondering. Can I keep about. 6 dwarf corys. 6 chili rasboras and 2-3 clown killifish in a 35 litre (9.2 gallon) planted tank ?

I'd say get a 15 for the extra swimming room. Did you get any, I see the comment is a year old lol.

@@roland_the_cursor Yes I did. Got a 10 gallon with 6 chilli rasboras. 6 corys and 3 killis. All do fine because they all sit at different water levels
