you said you were worried about the production bein crap, but i think it adds to the video to be honest. Your mic is good enough, the angles for your shots are great.
You need to use springbolts for your exhaust. And a donut gasket that needs to go in on the pipe that comes down from the engine. If you are not using springbolts, the whole exhaust might snap other places. It needs to be flexible.
Love watching UK DIY vids! Also I think it is a good idea to chock both rear wheels for peace of mind, a pair of sturdy rubber chocks on Amazon is like £10. Those bloopers are nice too.
no metal shards in old oil is a great feeling! I found red and blue plastic bits in a Honda i bought, apparently the old owner bought used oil that was "filtered" Changed the oil so quickly. Weird thing is even in the transmission fluid there was this red and blue plastic bits. No idea what it was .
Heyo, as someone who owns both a WRX and an STI, for the future stick to a tokyo roki made filter (black oem ones) or use the mazda rx8 oem filters (also made by tokyo roki). Looking forward to more from you, great work! enjoy the car!
boost gauge looks decently done i would just put some more slack in the tube because when the car is under load you dont know how things are gonna move and pull on it
@2:32 you should definetly use the boost from the turbo directly and route the hose near the ABS lines on the left. It will be saver and shorter. Your current hose location will melt at some point. The turbo is getting very hot. Otherwise keep it up! 👍I should also slowly continue with new subaru videos 😅
@@Rooey129 I attached my to the T peace at the compressor side (not the wastegate). Maybe I'm making a mistake, but I think that's how I connected it. I will check it on the weekend. Other option would be connecting it directly to the intake manifold. That will work for sure.
@@SubiCarLous yeah I definitely prefer it connected to any air plumbing after the throttle body as once it's closed your reading is gauge (0psi) whereas after throttle body you can read vacuum which in my opinion is just as important as seeing positive pressure.
you can take the bendy bit off the funnel, it just pulls off. makes it much easier.. Im enjoying your vids, its nice to see young lads enjoying cars, and learning well done!
Hi you are really cool. I'm also 19 years old and I live in Germany and own a 1993 Audi 80. I was/ am also thinking about making a video on it sometime. Take care of your Subaru and keep it up. Cheers
bro i love your car so much, these old subis are beautiful things, i was thinking about one myself at 21, but instead i did something arguably dumber and bought myself a 2000 lexus ls430 with the massive v8, shuddering torque converter, misfiring engine especially when cold and traction control doesnt seem to work which isnt the worst thing in the world i suppose?
Yo! Use heavier oil, on my built ej257 I run 10w40, it’s a bit thicker than 5w40, have you figured out if it’s truly knocking? Might also be just spark plug blow by if they are old or broken, I’d also check your timing belt cover and see how everything looks a failing timing tensioner can cause knocking noises.
Seconded on using heavier oil, when I had an engine rebuild for my WRX the guy who did it recommended Millers 10w60 (not cheap, but can get from Opie Oils online who offer discounts for some forum and car club members). Maybe overkill for a daily drive but it runs smoothly and definitely uses less oil then when I've got thinner stuff in.
@HalfwayUK sounds a bit thick to me? Definitely need to look into that, in summer here in the US it’s a definite must. But for me winter and E85 with that thick of an oil is a no go. In the winters where I am from it gets under 30 degrees and I use 5w40.
You should get spacers for your wheels. Its a really easy job that makes your car look nicer. Btw I have the same car as you so its nice to see someone working on it with the same amount of experience!!
@@its_aled8950 nah for me it feels the exact same. I have the same car as u so it should be fine. Btw I love your content, keep doing what ur doing and more people will come also be yourself so people like you not a fake version of you

There’s already a gasket in there, all be it old. I’m pretty sure it’s just that it’s warped atm
