Greetings from OZ. I just bought the big Airbag Man compressor. AUD300 with 3 years warranty. If really remote you literally put your life in the hands of your kit. Quality overrides price.
Bought the Airbag Man, pretty happy with it. Did you have the air filter on during the test? I think that slows it down a little. Takes 2 mins 15 seconds for my 285/70/17 from 16 to 40 PSI. Pretty happy with that. Unit is well built. The bag is very nice, but of course after pumping the heat sink is way too hot to bag up the unit until it’s cooled down. Mounted it in the back of my FJ, pretty happy for $300 AUD.
On this test I ran two airbag man compressors. The big one and the tiny little one with the 4 or 6l tank. Both a ram with the air filters on as one would do in real world usage. I’m very happy with tiny compressor. It’s been pumping the bags and the tyres for almost 5 years now.
Bought the Grunter purely based on price and advertised specs a few years ago. Our whole group uses them and havnt had a single operational issue. Would like to upgrade to onbaord ARB Twin, but price doesnt justify a few trips a season. Agree with the cable length and the crappy pressure gauge. I however would replace the screw on valve to a normal chuck as it does become annoying when moving around the car and taking off to check the pressure as the supplied gauge is inaccurate.
Where is the most popular compressor in UAE ?? "Camel" dual piston from Dragon Markt, around 280 aed (also sold in some 4x4 shops under famous names like "USA compressor" ;) One more thing worth mentioning. From my expirence, filling 2 tyres at once is much faster than one by one. Looks like capacity of the valves in our wheels limits flow or something. Its like 70% faster.
Expedition Extreme Yes, would really appreciate if you recommend the ARB model of Tire gauge monitor (just the dial type). I might consider to buy the ARB compressor because other brands are not available in our country. Thank you.
I have an ARB single onboard if you want to do a benchmark against that? I just use the clip attached to the end of the orange hose and attach that to my indeflate. I have 33s on my FJ and haven't bothered timing it but it takes me about 30 secs to get the first 2 tyres started, then I can wander around and take the dust caps off the other 2. I'm super happy with that setup. I have one of the little grunters that I keep in the other car - it's a lot slower, but it only gets very occasional use.
@@ExpeditionExtreme any ideas on a long thin air tank available locally rather than the short fat (and expensive) ARB tank? I'm thinking of attaching one to the side of a frame rail. Should be reasonably well protected and easy to drain water out of down there...
@@jeffshultz5348 Not really the point, I'd just like to see the numbers and power vs something at a shop or home. I know they're faster, but since i've seen an ARB up close, or any other, I'd like to see them pitted against a standard.
Hi Shaun, I know this video is a little older, you said the Airbag Man was coming to the UAE but I can't find it sold anywhere, did it ever make it here? On a related note, what do you think of the upgraded Bushranger Max Air III? Thanks.
Hi Mo, I would need to look who has stock. You could call ANR, Rashid is the owner and they are dealers for airbag man. Max air is really good and reliable, but slow in my opinion. I haven’t tested the III against any other products yet. If you know someone who has one let me know and I can run the tests. It becomes expensive when I need to purchase these items for a test
And one more advice. Never borrow your compressor immediately after filling your tyres to your friend. It's best way to kill it. They are not lubricated and without proper cooling ... and they die. All. Cheap one from dragon Market and ARB one month after warranty :( Sooner or later
Its only a 3l tank there was a variance between 0,5 and 1.5 psi. But because I use it I didnt want to add it to the show as I am Bias towards the setup, I chose it specifically for the vehicle and love it. so it would seem unfair if my personally love for the kit is compared to the other compressors. Trying to keep these reviews as fair as possible...
Could you not put a zip tie on that lever on the ARB inflator so you don't need to stand there and press the lever all the time? That's what I would do....
They are not commercially available yet, but should lunch in the UAE in Feb. If you want one urgently, I'm sure we can arrange to get one sent. drop me an email if you would like me to arrange one shaun@expeditionextreme.com
@@ExpeditionExtreme Hey Shaun, sorry to bother again. Did you get a chance to look at my email? It's ok if you can let me know here about the cost and time frame for this compressor.
No doubt the ARB Twin is the Best Bar None, I own it and the ARB High Power Portable Single I love the speed of the Twin Portable but to be honest I prefer using the High Power Single Portable, Yes it Gets Hot and it is a lot slower than the Twin, but it is nicer to use and lighter to move from A to B, and I like the Automatic Switch Off feature it has when you close the Lid, The Twin will take a 37" Tyre from 10 to 32/36 PSI in about 90 seconds or just under, But for most people the High Power Single is the way to go, My Tyre Pressures are normally between 26 and 32 psi So if your Tyres are not much higher then there really is not much need for the Big Twin unless you are running 35/37"+ Tyres,The Big Twin has the Awe Factor and it has the power to inflate just about any thing out there, It has a more Military Grade feel about it from it's Peli Inspired Case to the Best Hose system ever made, But One of the absolute best factors about the ARB Compressors is the fact that when you release the trigger the compressor shuts off, These are first class that's for sure, But when it comes to the cheaper models if you get a year or two out of them then it's not so bad, Just A word of warning regarding that screw on Valve connector you Like, In the end of that connector there is a small piece of Brass with a slot in it, Be very careful with it because I had one and One half of that brass piece broke off and it took me 15 weeks to get a replacement from the suppliers Trouble was at 14 weeks I got feed up at not having a Compressor which is why I bought the ARB High Power Single Portable and just my luck the new hose turned up a week later for the cheaper compressor But after I bought the Single ARB I wanted to know what the Twin was all about which is why I have them both, YES It is a Beast and is full of Awesomeness But it weighs as much as a Hi-Lift Jack and costs a heap too, Anyways Nice Review Well done, Thumbs Up.
Love ARB monster with a cylinder, settled for a Bush Ranger Max III with 5 year warranty. Nice upgrade from Max II. Good review. Thanks

Totally agree, piece of mind over price any day
Great test mate, love the tests
Thanx appreciate the comment

I was really impressed
The Bushranger 5 year warranty seems to put it ahead of many of the others. A little slower far less important than warranty imo.

Hi. Very nice comparison. With regards to external tire gauge monitor, could your provide brand and model. Thanks and more power to your channel.
Are you talking about the digital pressure gauge? IF so its made by ARB
Expedition Extreme Yes, would really appreciate if you recommend the ARB model of Tire gauge monitor (just the dial type). I might consider to buy the ARB compressor because other brands are not available in our country. Thank you.
Apart from a great video, great intro music

Thank you, I will wait for summer and run some additional compressors at the same ambient temps as this test

I'd like to see the comparison between a service shop air station vs the portables as well.
The service shop is faster. But good luck finding one in Oregon’s outback.

Does the ARB tank maintain pressure between uses it or does the compressor first refill it with each use?
while you using it the tank will fill up. When you store it you dump the air.
Hi, Could anyone tell me what song is playing at the beginning please, Thanks
I will have to go into my music collection to get a name. I purchased that song from Audiojungle

Longer cables can cause voltage drop

I use a bungee cord to hold the inflator open.
yeah me 2. But would be nice if it came with the option
Sir I already subscribed your channel 👍👍👍👍👍
awesome. thanx for the assist today
How did did your on board compressor take starting with an empty tank

correction 2l tank

yes you could use a zip tie or some wire, but it would be nice if it had a locking mechanism.
4:10 use a cable tie to slip over the lever to hold it down for free
