    Suzuki Swift Sport review: aex.ae/2A3gSRi
    It seems as though every new car that comes along these days has to have more of everything. More power? Naturally. More fancy styling? Of course. More technology? You bet. And, as a result of all these additions, it goes without saying, more weight. But the new Suzuki Swift Sport is a little bit different, as James Batchelor explains…

    Well, I personally don't agree that Suzuki shot itself into the foot. The Fiesta ST may offer a more agressive, sportive ride with much more power, but in terms of long life durability where you have no trouble with even when driving it over years the Suzuki is just right!

      I would never buy a Ford. Suzuki will spend less time on the back of a tow truck or at the mechanic. Swift would be 10x more reliable.. that’s why I just recently brought myself this exact car, champion yellow as well and I love it so far 💛

    The Suzuki Swift Sport is the BEST in its class!! And it is LOADED with what is optional in other vehicles. You should be reviewing bicycles.

    I drove the new SSS this afternoon and was not expecting much considering the reviews. I have to say that I was totally blown away by the new car. I've owned my second generation SSS for three years and I can honestly say this new car is on par with the second generation model in terms of handling (it might be ever so slightly softer), but totally trumps it in acceleration, ride and braking. All SSS are known for being much faster than advertised - Top Gear's second gen car timed 0-62mph stood at 7.2 seconds (8.4 claimed) but the new car is in a different league (and I have heard rumours from Australia/NZ it's in the mid sixes. It certainly feels realistic). Out of corner acceleration and traction is superb and it pulls well to the redline. This is a much faster A-B tool then any SSS before.
    In fact, there were only a couple of gripes. in hard undulating corners, the steering squirms in the hand a bit strangely (whereas the old car would just plough through) but the car was still tracking perfectly. I found the speedometer difficult to read (but there apparently is a digital readout that would help matters - in my hour or so with the car I did not seek to activate it). And finally, the plastic fantastic interior is no better build then the second generation - but still perfectly liveable. People say there is not much of a soundtrack, but neither is their in the MKII, so this was mute point for me.
    Long story shorty, be sure to take it for a test drive, because you might be surprised. I spend just over an hour with the car and drove it on my favourite A,B, and C roads to make the best comparison I could with my gen 2 SSS (which I adore). I might well be buying a MKIII now.

    Having driven the new car for 16k miles now. I know just how good the car is when pushed hard down a back road. The car is incredibly good fun, and rotates beautifully. This reviewer is clueless and doesn't know how to drive. Simple as that really.

    I don't believe this new car is anywhere near as bad as you say it is. I'm a long term Swift Sport owner. I'll judge it for myself if I can hopefully get an extended test drive.

    I watched nearly a dozen reviews about this car now. This one was by far the most critical about it. You can get one straight from the dealer for under 17k €... In Germany though.
    Fair price for a well performing every day small car. Can't wait for a test drive

    The base model Fiesta St may only be £1000 more but try pricing one up with the same equipment levels as the Swift, you would need the ST-3 with probably a few more cost options so as you say, it is more in competition with the 1.0 ST line which is more or less the same price

  • @MrNeeeooo
    @MrNeeeooo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi everyone is entitled to their own opinion especially when they are reviewing cars which I have done myself in the past
    This particular review is quite rare amongst all the other reviewers from around the world whether they be from UK Italy Australia South Africa and many other countries around the world including its own home country Japan
    I own a 2005 Swift S it is now 16 years old it is been the most joyous reliable car I’ve ever owned in my life the fun factor alone is worth the ticket price , let alone the reliability , the honest pricing of the spare parts and the bullet-proof and easy fix tuning ability of this car
    it is also seriously the most underrated car manufacturer on this planet bar none
    The Suzuki motor car brand and in particular the Suzuki Swift sport is all about bang for buck common sense cars that are still a lot of fun and that do not cost too much money to run , this is the principle of the Suzuki motor company they not only make cars that are very reasonably priced but are also tested in the most trying and conditions around the planet, so they actually last!
    You only need to see their rich history in WRC , to get that Suzuki it is not a prestige brand it is not only a real practical brand but will also always be one the most popular enthusiasts bang for buck choice

    In-gear acceleration... as opposed to what? out of gear acceleration?

    • @fabers92
      @fabers92 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      To quench your pedandtry, he clearly means as opposed to acceleration from a stand still.

    • @loxlover1714
      @loxlover1714 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wonder if it's a British English vs. American English thing. I don't believe I've ever heard the term used at all. I'm still confused why accelerating from a stand still wouldn't be considered in-gear as well? I mean without being in gear you're simply not accelerating. We typically use terms like rolling start/standing start.

    • @swanblake
      @swanblake 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Niandra actually thank you for answering. I was curious myself as to what he meant. Cheers

    • @bazzygee678
      @bazzygee678 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I always took in gear to mean planting your foot in the gear you're in rather than dropping it a cog or two. With a turbo the in gear acceleration is typically greater than an equivalent or slightly large na engine due to the spinny thing on the oily bits

    • @fabers92
      @fabers92 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fair enough, it may well be. In reviews over here we usually talk about acceleration (0-60, 0-100) and in gear acceleration (30-50, 50-70). In the real world the latter stats are usually more useful, and that's where all these new turbocharged engines excel compared to the old school N/A engines.

    Based on that report I think i'll keep my 2012 swift sport - yes its thirsty(ish), yes its a 3 door with 4 seats and yes the boot is tiny- not to mention the gearbox is clunky in traffic- but for my purposes and where i live ( south of France) , i continue to have such fun with this little car that has never claimed to be anything more than a warm hatch- Of course i will test the 2018 model just to compare - that said if i want a "lighter ride" it might be better for me to go on a diet rather than lightening my wallet.

    Normal driving is 10.3km/l
