I think Kia Ora is one of the best greetings to say to someone! Thank you 🙏🏻
If all the reactions I've watched of I Am I'm really impressed with yours purely for doing your research first and your pronunciation is great. I am a pakeha that grew up surrounded by Te Reo and Maori culture. I live in the same city as Stan.

KiaOra, Alex. It is a pleasure to listen to your reaction, one of the most professional I have come across. Especially that you showed the interest and took the time to do some research, which few others have done. Superb. !!
Thank you for the nice words! Means a lot, really 🥹 it made my day better 🙏🏻
Kia ora, the 'trembling' hand actions symbolise the life force, energy or 'mauri' as we call it. 😃
❤️
kiwi here! the waving of the hands is called the wiri, its a physical action often seen in dance in Māori culture that denotes many things, generally it depicts motion in the environment from the blow of the wind, the shaking of the branches the heat rising from the ground, the fluttering of birds or the movements of the sea/river ect it can also represent personal aspects like a life force or internal power
Spot on!!!
❤️
Stan is an indigenous native of New Zealand nothing to do with Australia he simply won an Australian singing competition then came home to nzd
The Wiri (hand movement) indicates that you live, you have energy, you have spirit. The movement means you are drawing on that spiritual energy of everything around you including Papatuanuku (mother earth).
Thank you for telling me 🙏🏻 that’s so cool
Loved your reaction ❤ Stan mentioned in an interview how he grew up watching 'The Avatar' and loved the Airbender Ang. The tattoo is inspired from it but with a more deeper meaning. Stan walker is very intentional with every song and video he creates. It is made with love and respect for our culture but it is also music that empowers and inspires all people. Look forward to more reactions from my fave Nz Artist, much love from Nz
Thank you so much for the comment 🙏🏻 he really seems a nice person from what l saw :) your culture is so fascinating, got me really curious to know more about it
Kia ora, watching from New Zealand, go check out Stan's music 🎶 you'll love it!!! blessings!
The video for this movie was shot here in NZ in and around his tribal lands and his wife’s. The only shots that are not are those of the Lady she is the lead actor in the movie. I live in the Eastern Bay Of Plenty where Stans people come from.
Kia ora from Aotearoa new zealand love your reaction ❤
Hello! Thank you for the comment 🙏🏻
Stan Walker like the Rock are both Polynesian. Nice reaction, Stan is a beautiful representation of all Polynesians,
kia ora awesome reaction , the cape is a Korowai , the shaking hands are wiri wiri it represents leaves in wind or the shimmering of water
The cape is amazing and love the meaning of the hand gesture:) thank you 🙏🏻
Hi another Kiwi watching from NZ. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Stan is an exceptional young man and an amazingly talented singer/songwriter. I look forward to your next reaction to Stan.. ❤❤❤
Can’t wait to get to know more of his music :)
Kiaora I'm from Rotorua (NZ). Stan Walker, 9:00 he's waiata is so awesome and lovely ❤😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Gave you 'The Rock' vibe, LOL, The Rock spent 18 months living in Auckland as a young man and still has an affinity with New Zealand.
The song and video were put together in about 15 days due to the tight turn around required by the movie schedule. It's simply brilliant.
Kia Ora! Maori living in Queensland Australia across the Ditch. Your pronunciation of Maori is really good, a roll of the ‘R’ is the key… Great reaction ☝🏾
Kia ora, good on you for researching. Mauri ora...🤙☝️🙂
New Zealand here. This is the land of New Zealand, the Maori culture is New Zealand. We have great respect for Stan down here.

He's humble as they come as many maori are and very family orientated and down to earth and welcoming which is just natural to maori so if you come across one of them just say "Churr my maori! and flick your chin up while you smile 😉..that'll get a reaction out of them either that or a hiding ..Nah just choking.. or am I 😉😂
