Something that I never see pointed out and the genius of Taylor's writing comes through at the end when the male is showing his emotion by wailing like he's really unexpectedly lost something and she's more meloncholic because she knew the breakup was coming. Just genius.
Taylor did the Folklore and Evermore albums during Covid. Long Pond is in upstate NY and Bon Iver was elsewhere. What a voice that man has! She knows how to pick her singing partners!
Bon Iver is Indie-Pop.Justin Vernon usually uses a more falsetto voice. You will be surprised. Taylor is a big fan of his band. He was playing in London and he had just started singing this song...when Taylor surprised him...walked on stage and did her part. The pianist you saw here..was there ..arranged it. So good. There is a fan video online
I'm glad you reacted to this version as well. There's something about the Long Pond Studios version that just makes these songs hit different. I'd like to recommend Taylor Swift's Epiphany as well. Thank you for your sincere reactions!
I don't know if you are aware but Joe Alwyn(Actor and Taylor's boyfriend) was randomly playing this melody while making up lyrics! Taylor heard and they decided to write the song! Both of them are Bon Iver fans! Joe also co wrote Betty - the piano and the verse he was singing when Taylor heard him! He also orchestrated the piano in Champagne Problems (one of my favourite songs). Always enjoy your reactions 💖
@@PratyushaMishra for sure! 😉 there’s a bunch of haters saying he didn’t contribute and Taylor just put his name on it to boost his cred or whatever, but i believe he totally did. How can you hang out with Taylor for 5 years and see her genius up close and not be inspired and have her talent rub off on you lol
@@Kammy-nh8vl I know right! I was so pissed at that - you can dislike people and their field of work but insulting someone's craft is not nice! Also when his great grandfather was a renowned composer - it's in the gene!
Justin Vernon is his name and it's ee-ver, He mostly sings in falsetto, well at least in what I've watched. I've read reactions of shock at how deep his voice is in this collab.
oh you should see her fangirling over the idea to collaborate with bon iver, she is so funny and sweet,it was before the song, i recommend to watch ir in full if you want ,thank you again for reacting to her music!!
@@PratyushaMishra okay all of those make me cry on the floor hysterically 😭😭😭. Like if I hear the opening notes of Ronan I feel like crying already 😭😭.
It was during COVID. He wore a mask for the people filming him. She was at home. Justin Vernon has a wide range. Love his lows. The live video in London was not as good for me. I don’t think Justin could hear himself in London.

Hi, I lived in Wisconsin (born in Wabasha Minn.) as a kid, and later as an adult. I live in Virginia now, and I don't miss that kind of cold, haven't been back since 1990.
I'm near the tip of Lake Superior in Wisconsin, nothing like inhaling that bitter cold air! 🥶 Jk, I hate winter here, gets to like -15°f pretty consistently...
Good luck this winter... I can't believe you live around Lake Superior 😭 so freezing... I've never been there but my boyfriend is from Minnesota and still lives in Minnesota so yeah, they're like sibling states 💖 OH, BTW, BON IVER HAS A SONG CALLED "Minnesota, WI" 😍 I love it, as well as "Holocene" (that one was shot in Iceland, i just found that out)
Agreed. It’s always funny when someone doesn’t know. Not a bad thing. Just funny. Deyarmond Edison was kinda country, Americana, folk combo. But Bon Iver is not.
i don't if you would react to 'taylor swift (artist of the decade) live performance at 2019 american music awards' but it's such a good performance! so please consider it 🙏🏻
@@DestructiveMediaYT somehow i can't put the link in commen it's keep get deleted but she upload the full performance on her official channel it had 88 million views! just type 'taylor swift amas 2019' on youtube it's would be the first to be recommended
If you haven't already, you should listen to Renegade by Big Red Machine featuring Taylor Swift. She and Aaron Dessner wrote it and other than a few male background vocals, she is the only one singing it. It's one of my Taylor favorites!
Thanks for reacting to this. Will you be reacting to the greatest vocalist Kelly clarkson? She released a remake of 9 to 5 with Dolly Parton. Really great and different. She also has these Kellyoke videos She does on her show where she sings covers. For Album reactions, maybe react to 4 or 5 songs in one video and do the rest in separate video parts.
Hearing Bon Iver on this song made me think I'd like them for their own music.... I didnt. Which is a shame since he had a great voice that low register of his is just unbelievable. In so many vids I've seen of Bon Iver performing as a group, it's more of a religious experience with little regard to the quality of singing. Lots of hooting and hollering. But this song is a masterclass.
Hey Brian!!! Love your reactions, especially how you focus on both lyrics & music! Would love if you could react to ' Bigger than Me' by Louis Tomlinson 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Heyo I'm sure you probably already have a comment like this somewhere in here, but country and folk music aren't quite the same genre despite having overlap. A lot of people I know find they love folk (at least the indie folk genre) even if they hate country with the passion of a dying supernova! 😂❤ I feel like folk music is a lot more versatile sonically than most country music, but I might just be biased.

For me, folklore changed everything. The talent that Taylor has is often overlooked, but if you get right done to it, this girl can write.
