In the movie, Taylor said she presented “exile” to Aaron with the hopes of him suggesting Justin (Bon Iver) join the track since Aaron and Justin are close friends. Aaron did end up saying Justin would probably like the track. Taylor was shocked that Justin ended up wanting to do the song with her. And you were correct, Taylor loves Bon Iver!
Was surprised when I came across this. My husband is an acoustician and he is who designed both Justin’s (Bon Iver) studio in Wisconsin and Aaron Dessner’s The Long Pond studio in upstate New York. Both of Taylor’s albums “Forklore” and “Evermore” were recorded at The Long Pond…as well as this Disney+ documentary. Jack is actually playing guitar on this track. I believe Taylor and Justin hooked up through Aaron Dessner (His Big Red Machine project has featured them both) Awesome reaction!!! 🙂🙏💜✌️
Wow, I do a bunch of interviews on my channel and would love to chat with your husband!! If he’s up for it, can he email me at JacobRestitutoMusic@gmail.com
I'm 58 years old. I absolutely adore music and this song moves me in a way that I can't even describe. I'm glad I stumbled on your channel because I like to hear people explain and appreciate music the way that I know it.
Aaron Dessner (the guy playing the piano who wrote/produced a lot of the album with Taylor) has a band called Big Red Machine with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. He’s hinted Taylor might be working with them on some of their stuff now too
Actually nobody was filming either of them disney+ sent them cameras including a moving camera which was being used but nobody was actually filming them
Exile is beautiful, it depicts a story, it allows people to feel something and resonates with it, it’s poetry, it’s art, there are depths to it. And watching the long pond session, you see emotions in their performance, and it sparks emotions in audience too. It’s something I love the most about Taylor, there are always emotions in her performances!!!
Justin Vernon is a collab oriented guy and does unexpected crossovers. He’s done several track on a couple Bruce Hornsby albums. I also love the duet with James Blake (I Need a Forest Fire)
In the future whenever anyone looks at this video, they will be transported back immediately back to 2020. Bon Iver ended up on this song because Aaron Dessner knows him and asked, I believe
Justin Vernon had a camera person; Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff and Taylor tested negative and lived at the studio (Dessner has rooms for several people ); and all the cameras were set up in advance, so all Taylor had to do was oversee the editing/mixing. If Joe Alwyn was there, he didn't appear in the film. Evermore was written in part during the period of filming and right after----Jack had to work on other projects, but Taylor stayed at the Long Pond studio for a few weeks after filming.

@@JacobRestituto I should have pointed out what I did like. You point out technique which I think is fabulous. I love when people analyze a song from a musical technique because it’s very educational. Like when you mentioned layering the vocals. These comments help people understand that music is a craft. It is called art because it is designed created and crafted by musical theory then interpreted by the artist. So I did appreciate your video. But I was started to feel the groove then you would cut it too early….sorry I banged out that comment like that. I didn’t explain my whole view. Please do more. In fact see what you think of Gregory Allan isokov. He’s an Indy guy. Tons of his songs are cool. Some may be basic rhythms and lead but he uses a lot of electric techniques.
Ugh, reaction vids are getting tired. They pause it every 6 seconds instead of taking in the song first, then possibly going back over it. That's what I appreciate.
