    THANKS! This video is fantastic and watching it probably saved me $600.00. I'm not mechanically inclined but was able to change my struts on my 98 Altima by watching your video. The hardest part was the clip on the brake line. I ended up jerry-rigging it but its secure, the struts are in place and I'm back in business. I can't thank you enough for giving me the confidence to do it myself!

    Nice video. Good recommendation to get the quick strut. So much easier.

    I found the same thing as you just mentioned on my 2002 Nissan Altima and it turned out to be the front motor mount I had it replaced and all is good now , I hope this helps !!!

    Perhaps it's because I used a different brand (Unity), but I had to use a spring compressor to get it in. Also, it's important how you line the screws up when putting the assembly back in, as it doesn't seem the triangle is equilateral. Also something that is helpful - removing the splash guard.

    Nice video. Never heard of quick struts before. I can attest to how frustrating changing the coils or strut by themselves are.

    Now could you make a video on Rear Motor Mount replacement for this vehicle?

    Monroe makes them. Quick-Strut is a trade mark of Monroe for complete assembly strut. There are other companies that make similar ones, like Gabriel Ready-Mount and KYB Strut-Plus, all of which are complete assemblies.

    May I add, cutting the nuts off the old strut worked best for me. They appeared to be a locking but of sorts and no bp blaster, heat or wrench was breaking them free for me.

    Breaker bars seem difficult to find....I went to Advance Auto, Auto Zone , Napa, Ace Hardware to no avail......only O'Reilly Auto Parts had the 24" breaker bar for only $24.99 and a set of cased impact sockets for less than $15.00! That is amazing prices and they worked perfectly!Hope this helps.

    I hit a big pothole and Damaged my left front wheel, i changed it but now the car in that area looks low and when i tried to drive it it feels like when you have a flat tire. Is this a shock absorber problem?? Thank you guys

    My mechanic just put quickstruts on the front of my 04 altima now the front end sits higher then before. Is this normal? He thinks I might need coil springs in rear?

    Thanks for this video. I just had both front and rear replaced on my 98 Nissan. I still hear a "squeaky" sound when I go over bumps. Do you think I got ripped off? I thought they replaced the full strut assembly.

    • @RyanDale311
      @RyanDale311  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think you got ripped off. That squeaking noise could be coming from lots of places in your suspension. Good luck finding it.

    • @trssho91
      @trssho91 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think you were ripped off, a car of that age would have had very badly worn mounts/struts/springs. Check your sway bar end links, they fail all the time and make a lot of noise when they do.

    Great video quality, but you left out MANY details.I followed your steps and it took me half a day to get the drivers side done because of un- explained subtle "tricks" or procedures. most important is that the wheels MUST be straight ahead....to the left or right makes getting the lower two bolts in almost impossible. Next, is the fact that these assemblies weigh 20 to 25 pounds make it very difficult for the inexperienced to handle them as nimbly as you do in your video to align the three threaded top studs with the holes in the top mounting.Lastly, you need to explain the difficulties in aligning the bottom two holes in much more detail because they DO NOT just "fall into place".This is definitely NOT for the inexperienced mechanic.I served as a helicopter crew chief in the Army and have had a lot of experience with small engine repair and maintenance on my cars for 60 years, so I know what I'm talking about.Your video is a good beginning.
