@@Mobius_1218 Yes but you have to notch the subframe hole for the power steering lines to clear, regardless if its the N/A or turbo frame. I've run both with it.
I installed one in my 07 STi over winter. Trimmed the tie rod ends, enlarged the hole in the subframe for the steering input shaft. I also went to a 2015+ power steering pump and braided high pressure hose.
@@MR__JUSTIN I like it. The steering feel is a lot heavier, and it doesn’t feel overpowered and as numb as the original rack did when moving off center. Great upgrade.
Consider also the vehicle stability control (or whatever Subaru calls it). Some Forester owners who have installed STI quick racks have reported the stability control kicking in on tight turns when the computer/sensors see too much vehicle movement for a given steering input.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the question. We have heard of stability control issues, but they seem to be somewhat uncommon, and inconsistent. It does make sense that the faster rack could cause this issue, but it just doesn't seem to be causing consistent issues, so it is hard to say what the exact cause is. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
installed in my 08 sti last summer, also did super pro roll center kit at the same time. rack was centered, wheel didn't move during install, angle sensor calibrated twice after alignment. daily driving i have 0 issues, but every auto x run i try it trips dccd locked, hill assist, and abs lights mid way through a run and cuts power coming out of turns. still trying to figure it out but I've heard its almost 50/50 having this type of issue after installing this rack.
I’ve been seeing tons of the high horsepower STI guys retrofitting the VA WRX electric power steering rack. Obviously it’s not better than this one for a road course car with class power limits, but the electric rack has some good advantages when you’re really leaning on an EJ and need to remove parasitic loss and potential points of failure.
Hi, thx for great content and info in it. I am love it. Little question : It is worth do poly bushings on steering rack on VA wrx sti 2019 ? Is there any benefit from using them ?
How quick is it? I have a 2004 JDM Forester STI which I think already has a quick'ish rack form the same year JDM STI - is this much of an upgrade & would it fit?
Thanks for your question. This rack is 13:1. It is for Left Hand Drive cars though, so would not work in the JDM Forester. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
Would the 15+ sti u-joint fit on a 11-14 WRX? It's the only one offered on your site so I was just wondering if that's the one to get with the 15+ rack
Thanks for your question. The rack can move in shipping. We would strongly recommend measuring both sides and then cantering it if you need to before trying to install. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
I remember Subaru mentioning that the weight of the steering would change based on vehicle speed. Maybe at some point we will be able to tune that as well. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
@@FlatironsTuning I love the content as always! I always tune in. Don’t always leave a comment but I always watch your new videos. Thanks again guys. Looks almost identical to all the steering racks on every Subaru I have ever seen. So it shouldn’t be that hard to retro fit like every Subaru there is a way..
Can you guys make a retrofit DIY for the GD STI chassis? Thank you!
Custom lines would sell lime hot cakes!
One of the best mods I have ever done to my GR Sti
Did you have to make any modifications?
@@johnnada3377 No modification required, but if you are replacing the hose between the rack and the pump it is part # 34610FG001, NOT 34610AG021.
2005 LGT it bolted up just fine with no issues. It did require a trim of the inner tie rod ends. Hoses lined up with no issues.
@@vannevels6758 I personally don't but this has been well documented by others. Some searches on the forms will give you all the information you need.
@@vannevels6758 you need smaller jam nuts to give you better alignment options
This is on the list for my GD. I think I'm going to get a tubular subframe instead of hacking up the stock subframe.
The tubular subframe would definitely make install easier on the GD.

Run one of this on my '93 and its one of the best mods I've ever done.
Excellent! Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
Are running it in the stock subframe?

@@stevemartegani I have a gd steering rack & subframe in my gc. Is the VA rack worth swapping?
@@Mobius_1218 The GD rack is what, 15:1? So yes it would be worth it, but its not super simple. The forums have good writeups for whats needed.

How about a video on AN fuel lines and ways of plumbing your feel pressure regulator?

Man i hate power steering fluid. I'll need to read about electric racks
Now if only we could get a left hand drive version of the 11:1 Ratio rack in the S208
I think you forgot to mention the havoc it plays with the VDC system
I see this being an upgrade to my 04 STi's steering rack.
the 04 is just so outdated and slow to respond.

The rack for the VA is even better: no need for the cusco bracket, the RA one is as thick. And the bushings are stiffer.
I did this in My gc8
What's the difference between 13:0:1 ratio and 13:3:1 ratio on the power steering rack?
