I've done this sort of thing many, many times myself in my Pro Street Mustang II with a 557cid. These new shiny cars think they're all that, but the old school modified cars can waste 'em easy. I get the tingles whenever I see an easy mark.
Easy huh..... What happens when those new cars run sub 7 sec 1/4s and have over 1500whp? All with a/c-heated seats, a/c, while listening to car-play and sipping a coffee? I love a good old school car any day, but this statement is just.... wrong. Displacement is great until you run into someone who also has it. Maybe you have 2kwhp in your mustang II, maybe you don't. But I guarantee no all motor 500ci v8-9-10-11-12 anything is gonna walk all over my r8 let alone some of the faster cars out there. 2020 Audi R8 AMS Alpha12 1564whp 7.56 at 181mph on factory 20 inch wheels and all season continental tires. Please.....
Sorry bro i dont care what you say your audi is not a streetable car and wont last long before a rebuild. Something will pop in traffic or racing soon..That much power in a street car is laughable
I own a few Muscle Cars. 70 GTX 440-6 and a 70 Challenger 340. I drive the opposite. I have owned my cars since the 70s. I am 65 yo. I want them around for my sons. But I still thrash them now and again. But it’s a very isolated area. And with no one around to try and impress. I know what they will do when someone is around. So I have no desire to show out. I really like to idle in with my .500 lift cam hitting a good lick. No harm. No foul.
I seen this guy ripping around a few times when I was in my slow bmw.He went flying by me when I was driving the bmw soooo I just so happened to see him again but this time I was in my old rust bucket annnnnnddddd the shifter immediately turned into a magnet and grab my hand, and I had to pay it forward.👊
Those new vetts and pro charge hellcats and mustangs are all fast as hell no question but this old rust bucket car can still be a thorn in anyone’s ass.
Never on the dyno.I just got it running after 25 years of it sitting.408 sbc AFR 195 heads 11-1 compression.Custom grind cam.Car is 2832 lbs 👀.Currie 9 inch aluminum rear end with 4,11’s.Ridetech suspension 4 link.Old school Muncie poor man’s transmission lol.Still holding up.Still lots to do but it’s fun.Still tuning and adjusting.I was hoping to get 500 foot pounds of torque out off all motor N/A I don’t care about hp even though I am using this old school Victor jr that I ported to match the heads with a 1 inch spacer. That was a pain staking week long process ugh.I didn’t want to go LS hoping this old dinosaur motor and trans can keep up with the new generation. With the weight reduction this car really scoots out of the hole if I am easy on the clutch.Just a fun build is all nothing to crazy.
I pulled this motor out of a 1974 station wagon🫣.The dash lights I peace together from auto meter. Then changed to LED blue. The dash was custom made from a gentleman on EBAY.He custom fabricates for older cars.
38 seconds of my life I won't get back
