Lol, I also said I spent time in Rosebank, Newtown, Sandton and other suburbs like Midrand.
@@nzalitakesafrica Yeah that's SA, those other places we don't know who lives there anymore, so they don't count as South Africa. 😆😆 I meant it in a light-hearted way, by the way. Comedy is medicine in SA, everything has to be a joke, even serious issues.

I am South African I agree with her. I dont like Nigerian food though but SA food lacks creativity and is very limited when you see what other people around the world cook you realise that we did not work hard on creating good dishes most of our dishes are just boiled or straight into the fire.

Lol Yeoville has no great accommodation because it’s little Lagos/Africa within South Africa. They’ve run everything down there…you know who
The 2 cities are incomparable…like comparing apples to oranges.Johannesburg is far ahead in development and infrastructure
I also thought you’re Nigerian or west African based on your look. Have you done your DNA?
As an American when we think of the African continent and cities in African countries, Lagos and Johannesburg both come up equally. So it is a fair comparison for people looking for where to go.
@@nzalitakesafrica the 2 are incomparable and you as someone who’ve stayed shortly in SA and seems to be in west Africa right now, you know that. Also disagree those are the 2 cities that truly come to mind for Black Americans when they think Africa. most of them know Accra& Lagos and proof of that is the countless of videos of them moving to there for last decade or so…as that’s where your ancestral ties are in west Africa, so it’s natural you’ve been moving there to reconnect. Ghana and a ome other west African countries even created special visas & a whole year of return for BAs to make it easy for you to love there, which is not the case in SA, no special visas for BAs bit it dues help them stay 90 days American tourist visa …so only a few Americans are discovering SA in last year because of Julian &The real South Africa (the 2,American TH-camrs who during covid, incessantly shared the good news of there’s more to Africa than Accra, Nigeria, Kenya& Egypt and only in last 3 years a few BAs started checking SA out(hence the proliferation of these types of videos where they talk what you get in SA for USD500 & you won’t believe this is Africa blah blah😑)…till then and even now most BAs think of Africa as Nigeria& Ghana because also SAns are just not in the diaspora as west & East Africans so they don’t know about us & country for the most parts. BAs do know & prefer west Africa;Ghana, Nigeria etc. and often Kenya too as they’ve said it’s more developed than most of Accra & likes of Lagos…it’s an easier transition for westerners. SA or it’s cities(doubt many could even tell you a city called Johannesburg exists) isn’t something they know very well…never met us in US as we barely go there &migrate like West & East Africans. my point remains that Lagos just isn’t same league as Johannesburg, so comparisons make zero sense…like comparing London to Moscow, seems forced and only reason you have, is they are in same continent. Different cultures, mindsets & development…but it is your channel & you can do as you please and I’ve just given my opinion
Sis, I am Black American. I know what my people discuss in private. To them Johannesburg and Lagos are the same. It's only once they have traveled a bit(as I have) do they know the difference. That is why I made this video to show them it is not the same. Also in our history classes the only African country they teach about in length is South Africa. I know this to be true because I'm a former teacher. We are very well aware of you all. To be honest what keeps a number of us away besides the residency issue is the history of Apartheid. It's very similar to our history of racism and many feel that South Africa is a white mans country. That is the hard truth. However, I loved living in South Africa I believe it to be a beautiful place with beautiful people and culture. That is why I make videos about my experience there. So others will no fear and believe it is still a place plagued with racism. Thank you for watching. If you like we can do an interview together and you share some of the beautiful things about South Africa with my channel subscribers.
@@nzalitakesafrica both cities can't be compared, is disrespectful to all the work that was put to build this country. Lagos is not worth mentioning it next to Jozi. all our big four cities dwarfs Lagos. Lagos is dusty and overrated, lets not celebrate mediocre as black people

The point I was making was the best housing is concentrated mostly on the island. I've been to the mainland and i didn't see the same quality of housing there. However, I'm just in Ghana. Invite me and show me something different.

Judging SA food based on chakalaka n meats ...u knw nothing about SA food (real black SAn food)...
I spent a great amount of time in Joburg as well. My partner at the time lived there. My office headquarters was also in Pretoria, I would stay in Joburg and commute in. So I feel I experience a lot. However, when I come back please prepare a plate for me!
the problem with you guys you are subjective you praise yourself. The fact that you only think the best food is meat and that meat is just grilled/braaied. What about variety. When you say it is the best against what? I am South African but our palate is limited, I eat meat but don't worship it , I like Indian cooking because they can make non-meat dishes that are amazing. Let us learn to detach ourselves emotionally and look rationally
U think mixing chicken, meat, fish nd boiled eggs with rice nd too much spice in one port is nice food shame on u just think again@@nzalitakesafrica
It took me traveling to other African countries to realize that our native food is bland and uninteresting compared to dishes from other parts of the continent. South Africa has probably the most international cuisine options out of any African country but our traditional food is really dull and restricted. Like Bongani said; Indians can prepare 10 dishes without meat that will blow you away. Same as West African cuisine who have a sea of options from their soups, stew, varied rice options and vegetable dishes that are orgasmic in taste. With South African traditional food you take away the meat and you are left with nothing but uninspiring cuisine.
Well said@@tyali84

When it comes to food you definetly correct our food doesnt contain much spices like typical West African Countries, for someone who is South African and loves spicy food. I find Most West African food quite flavourful
Durban Indian food is very spicy have you thought about them also? because in South Africa you get all kinds of food. Sea food, food with less spice and very spicy Indian food, you have a variety of options.

SA food is mainly European. SA does not have soup dishes. Wee generally don't like soup or watery food.
Funny that, Europeans eat quite a bit of watery foods and soups in Europe.
Are you from europe, are you not shame of yourself
The lies you tell 😂, our food is nothing like Europes
@@LivingByFaithAndIntuition well I don't know what you eat, but we from JHB eat salads, vegetables, meat and our starch is mainly made from potatoes/rice/pasta/pap/bread. We normally prefer home made bread (Dombolo). Do you know that our diet is similar to that of Afrikaners which have European heritage. In SA we mainly eat braai vleis, boerewors, meatballs, mince meat, fried chicken, etc. All of those are European based.
@@Charcmode Wrong. In SA and Europe they don't have soup dishes. I have been to Britain and Italy and have not seen any of such. Just like Europeans we prefer sauces over soups. We have special soups but we mainly enjoy them only during winter. We sip on it like tea just like Europeans. Some of those soups are prepared by just pouring hot water on them like Knorrox cup-a-soup and some are home made. However, generally South Africans don't like soups. 🤞🏽
Why would you compare Lagos to South Africa?!! South Africa is a white man land!!
I am comparing Lagos and Johannesburg. Just because there are white people there doesn't make it a white mans land. From my historical recall, it was not white men who originally inhabited South Africa.
@@nzalitakesafrica Excuse me!! Who built South Africa ?! Definitely no black people.. If white people move out of South Africa today, South Africa will be nothing in 5 years time!! Even there are place's in South Africa that black people are not allowed.👋🇬🇧
Yet Nigerians are flocking in numbers to the “white man land!”. You must come and fetch them from the “white man land”.
Nigeria was equally colonised. The population of white people in SA in just 6%… The economy of Nigeria is controlled by Europe to date. You have oil but you don’t own it
There's no white man land in South Africa where 81% of the population are black people. South Africa is an African black dominated country where Zulu language is the most spoken language in the country not English, so don't talk lies.
