    Your points are different from the usual ones I come across, it goes to show you experienced SA in a diverse perspective. What is referred to as damages in English is called inkomo yesondlo in my language, loosely translated to 'the cow of nurturing/nourishment'. It's paid by a man (family) who impregnated a young woman out of wedlock, regardless of whether they will later tie the knot or not. Infact, if he decides to ask for her hand in marriage, he starts with that cow and then the standard lobola (dowry) cows. It's not necessarily linked to compensating for dowry, it's focused on the wellbeing of the baby. Lobola is not a bride price, it was a means to establish relations between 2 families. With changing times, it's no longer about cows but the monetary equivalent. Of course people have become a lot more greedy. You may have noticed that cows were once a precious commodity, that's still the case in the villages. By the way, I'm interested in your name. In my language IsiXhosa it means fulfillment or realization, as in when the prophecy comes to being. What language does your name originate from? Apologies for the essay 🫣🤭

    @HBGoneGlobal It is obvious to me that you are new to this channel. I have lived in South Africa, taught in the South Africa and made a video that addressed the concept of "damages". However, in this video one of my points was the concept that African men are more marriage focused. So let's look at the data: According to the last US Census Black American women population was 22million of that 22 million 4.2 million were single family homes. That means 19% of the Black American women were single mothers. In addtion to that, only 20% of the Black American woman population was married, with 47.5% had never married. Now let's take a look a Africa as whole. Research says "over 22% of women aged 20-49 years in Africa were unmarried mothers" . 19% for one country against 22% for a whole continent tells the accurate picture. Now according to the UN in 2020 African unmarried women ages 44-49 was a only 6%. Meaning by their 40's majority of African women have married already. Regardless if they started out as a single mother or not. By their mid 40's they were married. Don't let this woman lie to you. I just left South Africa and there are so many single mothers there. It's real issue even on the Continent as I learned and talked with people from different parts. There is even a thing that they call damages. If a man gets a women pregnant without marrying her, he will have to pay a fine and that is usually up to the men of that family. If you he doesn't pay, the child can be withheld from him, which happens a lot. Most of the women I met had kids, and some will even withhold that information if you don't ask. These kids are usually back in the village being raised by the parents or grandparents while they work or go to school in the major cities. These African does be out there cheating heavy.

    I agree with both lists! I met and married my Nigerian man in 8 months while living in Senegal (he is the exception to the rule lol). We've been married 11 years (had our first child in year 8). Before meeting my husband I met and dated Africans in Mali, Senegal, and Nigeria and I study African culture, so your advice is spot on. I'll add that the most appealing thing about African men (especially Nigerian men) is their decisiveness. They see you, select you, and solidify the relationship with you ASAP. They make their intentions clear. This is related to the family orientated nature and their serious pursuit to find their mate and start a family. But the decisiveness + their blunt language / direct communication alone is appealing because it takes the guessing out of things. Keep in mind that the age of both parties in relation matters too. My husband was 29 and I was 24 when we met. I approve this message and promote locking down an African man (I can co-sign for Nigerian men lol).

    Yes girl you hit all these points on the head! They are very family oriented and make you feel like you the only one. Hell mine is like that but trust and believe I always keep one eye open! But one thing also I think we need to hit on is that these African men dating American women need to understand how we move and talk. I feel they get too easily offended. You know we American black women be fast with the words lol. And from my experience African men sometimes are suffocating. So there has to be some balance in understanding each other cultural love language.

    • @GoddessFactor007
      @GoddessFactor007 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ..and we shouldn't be dating men in Africa that DON'T have money. Black American women with education, access, and diverse life experiences (and lets face it-this is usually the level of queen ballsy enough to move to Africa, lol) deserve their counterparts-no matter where he's from. I'm not saying not to date and have a variety of friendships on the Continent. But when it comes to LTRs and marriage-remember that YOU (and YOUR PASSPORT) are The Prize. If you wouldn't marry a scrub at home in the US, don't go to Africa to get one. Because we are from outside of these cultures-unsuitable men are sometimes hard to spot. Take your TIME. All that 'decisiveness' and aggressive pursuit some African men do, is love-bombing (I know a couple of men who applied pressure like this to several women simultaneously-then married the one (a wht woman) who had the most $$$) and often an attempt to hurry you up to secure the benefits of an American spouse, or hey, maybe just to get a pair of sunglasses or sneakers, or dinner. Pay for NOTHING, ladies. An African man with money won't even allow you to REACH for your wallet without getting offended, lol.With a few adjustments, I think we should have the same standards for Kwame as we have for Trey 😆

    The coloured people of South Africa have the most diverse DNA composition in the world. When rasicm was imposed the government put the people in groupings to further divide people of colour. What do you tell and say to black Americans who are running around saying " I am not African bro".

      I'm not interested in having conversations with delusional people, so I say nothing. The truth it needs no proof, either it is or isn't. People have to recognize the difference between race, ethnicity, nationality and ancestry. If you understand these then you will know that African Americans have African ancestry. They ethnically are different and identify nationally as Americans. According the the African Union the African American is a part of the 6th region/Historical diaspora.

    Curves in America and curves in Africa are not the same. African ladies are on a different level.

    My dear, lovely content you have here. First of all Ghana and South Africa have a good relationship, and have much love for each other.. As for South African Men and dating our ladies. Trust me the same story is in Kenya, Kenyan Women prefer western men, because by nature women love money, and the Nigerian men which represents the western men a lot, goes for that weakness in women by giving them money, even if the women doesn't love them, they will agree into the relationship because of money.... And according to our culture, weak men uses material things to prove their strengths, but a strong Men live up to their responsibilities... As for our Ghanian brothers we have no beef against each other, no grudge no enmity etc..✌️✌️

    Indigenous people of South Africa are not the blacks only. We as classified as coloured are the Aboriginal inhabitants formally known as Khoi and San. So not all coloureds are mixed but the apartheid regime did this to divide and conquer. Facts !!!
