No, it was actually added in the Xpanded update. You should see them in COMBI and SEQ modes, in the "Prog 1-8/9-16" tabs and the "Mixer 1-8/9-16" tabs. If you don't, look for a small button in the upper-right, next to the Category button, that says "Vel Mtr." Touch that, and they should appear.
Thank You Korg. This is just what I needed. I am used to sequencing on Cubase, so this was spot on. Two videos like this save hours of sifting through the manual for me. Many thanks and keep the series going!
Sorry to hear about your issue. Just to make sure you know, you can't change tracks while recording. If this keeps happening, please contact your nearest Korg distributor for more help.
To change tracks in the sequencer, just touch the arrow below the number and title of the song (i.e. NEW SONG), and choose the desired track from the drop-down list. Alternately, you can touch the text next to the arrow, and then use the value slider or number pad + ENTER key to choose a track.
Yeah thanx to this video I've just done me first song , got me m3 5 days ago , and after only owning only old vintage analogue gear I was totally lost lol , only had a computer two years so you can imagine how behind I am in modern technology , awesome keyboard , I've even put all me old gear away , so I can learn this M3 ,, thanx for your videos
If that option is greyed out, switch to MEDIA mode, open the drop-down menu, touch the Media Info tab, and select "Scan USB device." Then go back to the Auto Sampling Setup page as described above. Now, back in SEQ mode, press the Sampling REC button. It should blink for a few seconds. After it stops blinking, press the adjacent START/STOP button. It should light up. Continued...
Press the Sequencer START/STOP button to play the song back from its current location. Let it play all the way through, then press the Sequencer START/STOP button at the end. After you stop the sequencer, the two Sampling lights (REC and START/STOP) should go dark. There is now a 2-channel WAV file on your USB drive, entitled "TAKE0000.WAV" (If you repeat this, the next file will be called "TAKE0001.WAV," and so on). Just plug the USB drive into your computer, and copy it over.
Yes, it happened for months. Sometimes the tracks would work on the sequencer after I'd fiddled about so I used to think I'd found the solution but then when I turned it on again it wouldn't work. The problem can be caused by a problem with the pads or by the half-damper pedal. Go to global mode and, using the page menu drop down, recalibrate them both. I'm optimistic that your sequencer will then be fine.
You can mix your song down to a 2-channel WAV file, that can be burned onto a CD, converted to an MP3, etc. You can also transmit audio to your computer's DAW with the optional EXB-FW expansion. To save a WAV file to a USB drive, Make sure the drive is plugged in and recognized. In SEQ mode, go to the Sampling/Audio In tab, open the drop-down menu, and select Auto Sampling Setup (the last one in the list, you'll have to scroll over). Switch to "2ch Mix to Media." Continued...
@corvetteflorida I own a pa2x, and it doesn't have that feature. There are some updates that I haven't try yet. I hope that they come with it. I felt very dissapointed when I started working on the pa2x sequencer.
I know, It has been fine before. I use to have to let it warm up for about 20 minutes before it'd let me change tracks, now it just doesn't do it at all :( I will contact them anyways! Do you think they would be able to sort the problem out then?
SuperhelterYNWA, I had a similar problem with the sequencer on my OASYS but I found out that the problem was coming from a pad that was holding a silent note. If a pad or the half-damper is holding a note - and sending midi info - then the sequencer tracks won't change. I just recalibrated my pads and everything was fine.
My 6th pad started not to work either but it does now (as does the sequencer). And the 1st combi kept coming on when I turned the instrument on. (I think both of these probs had arisen after I accidentally didn't shut the OASYS down properly). Now everything's in perfect working order. Have you tried resetting everything from global mode?
Did this problem happen for ages though, i.e when you turn it off, then back on again? mine has been like this for months now. So should I just fiddle about with the pads? I appreciate you trying to help me by the way!
Well I put the dongle into my Korg and manage to save it ok, I just cant get it on to my pc. Ive checked the manuel also. Do you think it's possible to get my music on to my comp at all? I appreciate the help too. Nobody from Korg is replying to me at all :(
My church has an M3. All I want to do is use it as a live "keyboard" I can't find a tutorial on this. Anyone know of anything? I need to know how to generate warm analog pads and other simple voices.
my question for anyone that can help. how can i take a drum note such as a kick from the drums section and assign it to multiple keys on the triton with different pitches? like i can put one note on my mpc pads and each pad has the same sound but different pitch can i do this one a korg triton? if so how so?
I need help the track wont change sound i chance midi tacl and same some no mater if the name changes tje sound is the same so i cant record more than one instrument please help.
Yeah I had a disc that came with it, I'll google it and see what I can come up with! I might have to sell it, which breaks my heart! I use basic PC speakers, Logitech ones, cost me around £40.
I've had my workstation for over a year and you can listen to a sequence on my channel. But I have 10 other songs stuck in the Korg now because of issues I continue to have with touch sensitivity, (it goes soft to LOUD instead of giving feeling) and problems finding the proper arrangement/selection of sounds to make it real/not cheesy. And where can I access drum patches? I'm doing them from scratch.
my Korg m3 also gets stuck in track 1. It will let me change tracks right when I turn it on, but then I can't hear anything unless I am in track one. Very frustrating. Any solutions?
can someone help everytime i try to switch to 2nd track in sequencer it wont let me do it. i lay down a drum beat in track one highlight the box hit track 2 & it stays in track one. i know im missing a step. i had a couple of occasions wher i entered another page in display & track 2 came up. i must be missing a step with a new korg m3 any help would be much appreciated. kind regards
The problem I have is that when I'm writing on the sequencer (I'm just a beginner), I can work it all out and add a drum track etc, but then I run out of drum beats and I don't know how to add more bars in for the drum track. Does anyone know? Much appreciated. :)
PLEASE HELP! when i use track 1 on sequencer do my beat i cant get to track 2!? hit the arrow it wont let me highlight any other track. i would really appreciate it
Okay, I have a problem, every time I use pro tools to import my tracks from the sequencer into pro tools, there's a starting time glitch right in the first beat of the recording in each track. it only happens right there at the beginning and I've updated all the latest firmware updates from the site. And the glitch is never there during playback on the actual m 50 but yet appears to occur during track by track importing into pro tools even though the midi/slave control is working
They can either help you fix the problem, or help you take the next step and get it fixed. If you're in the UK, the Technical Support telephone number is 01908-857130 .
I just can't focus with the metronome if I try 3/4 it keeps ticking just when I plush start/stop the metronome will start I can't prepare first what the time measure is of my song update thiss
Thanks i am using the m3 editor which when using my pc the korg m3 editr editor on the pc controlled me changing my tracks. im s dumb. nw hw do i save my songs ( is it possible to save my songs as midi data & mp4 to isten to in w media player? thank you
Everytime i sample using create chop up sample sequence convert to song my samples dont play at pitch set in sequencer mode why help korg i have the korg triton with most recent os
Dont expect computer-integration to work, Korg dont update their USB-drivers unless there's brand new gear around to sell... As such Mac users that have updated their systems since november cant connect any of their Korg gear to their computers anymore - and still no support... Similar problems are increasing for windows users as well, though they are so far more sporadic... Mind you, the USB-drivers are atm over 10 months old...
This keyboard is just awful, cant wait to get rid of it now. I cant even change tracks when using sequencer mode, im just stuck in track 1. You guys at Korg are useless also. Ive shelled out £1000 and you cant even answer a question.
Korg's sequencers are so easy to understand. Very easy to get into and get your compositions down.

Thanks alot this helped me out big time!!!
Great Tutorial. Just one question. How do you quantize loops like the drum loop??

I have no trouble recording, but how can i get my music off of the korg and on to a comp? Please help!
When I switch tracks, only the first track is played in the sequencer. Why?

Why do I record and play only the first track in the sequencer, even when changing the midi channel?
I need help the track wont change sound i chance midi tacl and same some no mater if the name changes tje sound is the same so i cant record more than one instrument please help.
The 6th pad doesn't work... Do you think that its that then? I dont know why it doesnt work though?!?! :-(
Yeah I had a disc that came with it, I'll google it and see what I can come up with! I might have to sell it, which breaks my heart!
I use basic PC speakers, Logitech ones, cost me around £40.
I have a USB dongle and when i put it in the comp it wont recognise it.
I was actually looking at buying the motif xs, I just need it for basic recordings, demos etc... Are the sounds good?
I've had my workstation for over a year and you can listen to a sequence on my channel. Is the volume supposed to drop when in sequence mode? When I sequence something, the volume drops significantly. What am I doing wrong?
Does the PA2X have this same sort of track looping capability?
my Korg m3 also gets stuck in track 1. It will let me change tracks right when I turn it on, but then I can't hear anything unless I am in track one. Very frustrating.
Any solutions?
I've for the same problem. Each track is in a specific midi channel, but I can only hear the sounds of MIDI channel 01.
