Chris Stuckmann reviews Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Gary Oldman, David Thewlis, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Robbie Coltrane, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton. Directed by David Yates.
2 things we can all agree on:
1) These reviews are godlike and we have never clicked on a notification so quickly
2) Umbridge was a BITCH
JoeBDesign thats why her name rhymes with bitch
Riarda Murseli do you know what a rhyme is?
JoeBDesign we all thought she was a b*tch, so the actress did her job well lol
I wanted Voldemort locked up in Azkaban. As for Umbridge? I wanted that bitch dead.
Umbridge was mean :,(
My favorite part is when Serious Black says "Nice One James!"
Such an effective moment because they don't let that line overstay it's welcome, but rather just move on - It's always great when movies force you to actually pay attention and process subtext
Couldnt agree more. I still use that line when anyone in a video game does something tricky.
Brannon H you Sirius?
I knoooow. I was like "awwwwww" 😢
Brannon H no joke, when I play soccer pick up games with my brother I still shout that out and never fails to get a laugh
These reviews really make me want to marathon all of the Harry Potter's again
Eric Xu SAME 😂
Why do people like these childish things? Harry Potter or super heroes or whatever PG crap, supposed to lose their appeal when one turns 12!
I watched them all for the first time this weekend because my friend lent me his whole collection. I absolutely loved it, especially the last 3 movies.
***** Characters are all black and white - 100% childish thing.
i'm doing it next weekend, a friend of mine has never seen them and we'll marathon them.
Let's not forget that Sirius's last words were calling Harry by his father's name. In the excitement, he was fighting side-by-side with his best friend again. He wasn't comparing or projecting onto Harry, he just forgot. Sirius hadn't had a life for over a decade until finally, he felt like his younger self again. He was hopeful, young, and cocky. And he died being exactly who he was while standing next to, not only his beloved god-son Harry, but also his brother in spirit, James Potter. No... I'm not crying... You're crying... Cry-baby... I'll be right back...
And Umbridge is the most vile and unlikeable villain I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing... Voldemort, Hitler, Joker, Satan, and Ken Bones have nothing on her...
Carlos Rodriguez What is that thing Sirius falls into when he's killed? I haven't read the book so maybe it's explained there
Dickweed McKenzie It's called the Veil, to my knowledge. It's just a one way trip to death, afterlife, or whatever. I don't know what metaphor Rowling was specifically going for, but Sirius died and passed through at the same time. I find it interesting because Harry can't even go in to collect the body for a proper burial. Long story short, it's just a gateway to death. That's it.
Carlos Rodriguez Some real shit there bro
Dickweed McKenzie Real shit indeed.
That Dumbledore vs Voldemort fight scene is some of the most dope ass sh*t I've seen in an action movie.
I said the same thing...it was a short bad ass fight scene. I was cheering for the bad guy Voldermort to kill all them good guy mother fuckers in the movie!
Best moment when Voldemort summons the fire animal and madly laughs at his creation of destruction.
Y'all need Jesus!
Join the Dark Side!!!!!!
Amazing CGI to, that water sphere was mind blowing.
In the book Umbridge (somehow) is even worse. She sends a group of dark wizards to take out Hagrid and when Mcgonagall rushes to help him she gets hospitalized.
that when umbrige character went overboard. from that point I did not even feel like reading the book. film does not do that.
Aigg Ebe that's my one problem with her in the movie, they really don't do her enough justice in how evil she really is. You hate her so much more in the book.
We also learn at the end that Umbridge was the one who sent the dementors on Harry in the beginning
White Wolf but in book she becomes jar jar binks annoying. Degrades the quality of story. In movie she is evil and annoying but within limits.
She doesn't send dark wizards, she sends Aurors, which given that Hagrid is half giant, makes sense if you want to force him off the premises.
"It was foolish of you to come here tonight, Tom." Best line in the movie.
Nah, I'd say the best line was "I'm sorry professor, but I must not tell lies."
Just rewatched it yesterday and hearing him call him that was so badass. Who is this Voldemort you speak of, my old friend Tom?
I honestly think Umbridge is worse than Voldemort.
Stolen. Yes
We all do.
Stolen. I agree, and I think I know exactly why. Voldemort is just straight-up evil, there's no pretending with him. You see Voldemort, and you think, "Holy shit, he's a bad guy" at the very least. Umbridge, though, puts on a facade of being all friendly and nice and pretending she's a good person before her true evil personality slips through. She's more sly, manipulative and cunning.
What?
Indeed. Voldemort is a power hungry, remorseless, violent, and with an agenda that necessarily will leave a lot of people hurt or dead. But that's just means to an end for him, he doesn't rejoice in that particular fact (though he obviously doesn't care either).
Umbridge is all that Voldemort is (albeit not as powerful), and a fully fledged sadist to boot, revelling in inflicting pain and suffering onto others simply for her own amusement.
Voldemort is a veritable nice guy in comparison.
It's funny that Voldemort is the big Bad and the "ultimate Evil" of the series but everyone in the Fandom
genuinely despises Umbridge with a passion ! ^^
Voldemort is a god figure who many people will never see in their lifetimes. Umbridge is a figure who is or will be present among us, watching us, interacting with us. Voldemort is an impossible fantasy; Umbridge is a cold reality.
Umbridge is heavily more of a relatable antagonist, because many of us HAVE had an umbridge in our life at one point or another. Whereas very few people have a genocidal 'hunt you down' maniac
Umbridge is one of the greatest villains in literature and film history. she transcends even voldemort himself in her bitchy-ness
At least until Dio Brando gets his movie.
Ethan Northup She is nothing compared to Sauron or Morgoth.
Not even, I know it's a funny meme and all but please.
Well, yeah since she's a carbon copy of Nurse Ratched who's literally the 5th greatest villain on the AFI's list.
Umbridge was hot, I like a woman with some control. She is just misunderstood.
Fun fact about that demetor in the beginning to film it turns out That umbrage Lady was the one who sent the dementor!
Caleb Carver yeah they say that in the book
One aspect of this film that's really underappreciated: the score. It's fantastic! So many memorable pieces that add a ton to each scene. Obviously John Williams was already a movie music god when he did Harry Potter. Patrick Doyle and Alexandre Desplat are both highly talented and have had very successful careers that only got better after they scored Harry Potter movies. But why didn't the same happen for Nicholas Hooper? How did he not get more offers for high-profile projects after doing this film and HBP? IMO his work on Order of the Phoenix is some of the best music in the series.
TJ Hastie ABSOLUTELY AGREE!! Hooper was the only composer of the series whose subsequent works weren't catapulted to fame due to his work on this movie. A really vibrant and bright score, perfect for this score...
It’s very similar to John William’s original score. I almost thought he’d return to score it.
Umm Patrick Doyle and Alexandre Desplat were already Oscar nominated composers before they did Harry Potter films. The Harry Potter films were not why they became great composers. They were already great. Contrary to popular belief among HP fans, there were actually films made before HP.
It's the longest book with exactly 800 pages
Lots of people say this is the worst movie in the series. I think it's actually one of the best of them.
HoustonProductions1 agree! Lots of people seem to dislike the book too, where its actually my second favorite after PoA
This isn't really that great a movie...it isn't a bad one, and maybe not necessarily a "worst one" per say, but the other ones pretty much do trample this one in their memorability.
It's pretty bad as an adoptation of the actual book! :P
Philosopher's Stone ~300 pages in the book, movie runtime = 2 hours and 32 minutes
Order of the Phoenix ~800 pages in the book, movie runtime = 2 hours and 22 minutes
jakewalle since they were willing to split DH into two movies, they could have done the same with this one and the next. OOTP was rushed imo.
HoustonProductions1 Now that the play came out,the play is the worst
My biggest problem with the movie is how Harry treats Cho after Umbrage forces her to talk. I get that would be hard to handle, but Harry cuts of all ties to her when it really wasn't her fault, (Umbraged used illegal magic). It felt very of putting to me.
Also, just gotta say, fuck Umbrege. Just... fuck Umbrege.
Omg i thought i was the only one!
The Dinkster its umbridge
The Dinkster
No one knew Cho was forced until Snape revealed it later
She used curses on all of them, they still didn't talk. The only reason she spoke was because of Snape's truth serum, which Harry didn't know about (she could have just told him).
What I really don't like about this movie is that It barely touched on the prophecy. And the whole book revolved around it since it was really important. Heck, even Chris didn't mentioned it.
Oh yeah. The battle at the Ministry of Magic dishonored the book. In the book many characters almost died. In the movie, it was intense but nothing more.
You have to remember that movies can't do everything a book can. It's perfectly fine for movies to leave out scenes or details from the books as long as they don't really affect the overall plot. The battle at the ministry didn't "dishonor the book", it just made it shorter because if it included everything from the books it would have been like twenty or thirty minutes of straight battle. Most of the battle in the book wasn't really necessary for the movie. Like Hermione getting injured wasn't at all necessary for the movie.
Didn’t the death eaters threaten Harry’s friends in the movie and Harry had to make a choice between saving his friends or the prophecy? That’s quite intense. Also, as far as I remember, Hermione was the only one that almost died.
That’s exactly why this is my least favorite out of the series. I remember the book so well to the point it was my second favorite book in the series. The disservice the movie did with not mentioning the prophecy enough was unwarranted. Heck this is the shortest movie for the series, yet it’s the longest book because of how much mythology it covers
What was the prophecy about?
@@trevorthornley8835 it foretold the person who has the power to defeat the dark lord (Voldemort) and he is born when the seventh month dies and the dark lord marks him as his equal
Underated? This is my favourite book and movie in the whole series! I love this film! Am I alone on this?
Ma7cus 8 it seems we are in the minority as everyone hates it for some reason
I love it too! I honestly like this better than Deathly Hallows.
Ma7cus 8 proud to be part of the minority! Both adaptations, movie and book, are my favorites of the series!
the majority doesnt like it, including me, so it is underrated for people who love it
Ma7cus 8 It's the best book in the series, but not a good film. I get it's an over 800 page book, but they left out SO MUCH. It's like David Yates didn't even care about the fans, and only included major plot details. That's not what makes these movies fun.
I'm surprised you didn't talk about one of the most crucial aspects of this story: Dumbledore ignoring Harry to the point of not even looking at him. It's for Harry's own protection, but because of Dumbledore's penchant for secrecy, he leaves Harry in the dark, getting increasingly vulnerable. The moment when Harry screams "LOOK AT ME" is a culmination of this confusion, vulnerable, angry time (coupled with Voldemort's rage hiding in him) that Voldemort himself uses against him later. Being blinded by his love for the boy, Dumbledore ends up causing Harry much more pain, and is almost certainly responsible for Sirius' demise. Other than that, it was another great review.
Ever since I first subscribed to you back in like 2014, I've been waiting to see these HP reviews and the wait has been worth it. These reviews are amongst my favorite videos on TH-cam. Thank you so much!
Voldemort did not kill Cedric, Wormtail did.
Technically, yes Wormtail did kill him, but Voldemort ordered him to do that.
It’s like how we say Hitler killed millions; even tho he didn’t directly kill them all, he ordered the deaths. Voldemort made wormtail do it and is therefore responsible
@@Kizamo yeah, like saying Hitler killed 0 people outside WW1 Battlefield
that's Riddikulus
Damn, every single one of these reviews makes me want to marathon the whole thing!
Yeah, I also hated Umbridge.
So did everyone.
U took Umbridge 2 Umbridge?
The battle between Dumbledore and Voldemort is still, to this day, the best magic battle I've ever seen in a movie.
dh part 1 is a great movie.
actually hp movies are great.
all of them. and the books. they are awesome
This is my favorite movie and book in the series
This is my favorite book. The movie was eh but not as bad as number 6
This is my least favourite book by far. It's far too angsty for my liking. The stuff at the end, with the kids fighting the Death Eaters, was incredible, but it didn't make up for all the school drama that preceded it. It didn't help that the book was so damn long, meaning all the angst was dragged out.
DonCorleone93 I see what you mean but I think people don't like it because they don't understand it.
This is my favorite movie of the series who in my mind transcended the book (I didn't like the book that much. it was too long and sometimes boring). My favorite book was the 4th.
John Moon dude he was 15 and experienced a shit ton of trauma in the last book and he wasn't allowed contact with any of his friends and everyone was giving him shit the entire year. He has a right to be dickish
Should have given Imelda Staunton props for doing her job very well playing Umbridge. She was meant to be hated and she accomplished exactly that.
Second favorite of the entire series. I love the inner battle scene with Harry towards the end of the film. It gets to me every time. Such an amazing emotional scene.
Have been out of touch with the Harry Potter world for a while now, but its so awesome to hear you talk so passionately about it, brings up great memories!
Am i the only one who thinks Luna and Harry should have been a couple instead of awkward Ginny Weasley.
jack newton yes
thank you
i never thought about it but now i agree
The books are better at showing the romance between Ginny and Harry. Ginny has a confident personality and actually defended Luna from some Slytherin bullies.
Yeah Film Ginny doesn't count, she's pretty much the polar opposite in the books
Finally! somebody who loves the 5th film! I loved it so much
Chris you've got 3 left but only one month till Fantastic Beasts. How are you going to do this?
He'll probably combine the Deathly Hallows, at the very least.
Or he can just do one every week or so.
Great review!! Was kinda shocked you didn't bring up the movie length once. Just every review I have seen for this movie has complained about it being too short. All I'm basically saying is that it's nice to watch your reviews Chris
I hate watching this movie because I hate that Sirius dies.
But he didn't have enough screen time! We really only got to see him for maybe 15min in Prizoner of Azkaban, a few shots of him in fire in Goblet of Fire, and he was off and on in Order of the Phoenix. Such a great character that wasn't used enough in either the books or the movies.
But why'd he get sucked into that weird... Whatever it was?
Another great review. You just reminded me why I fell in love with this series and why the memories that I have from the movies and the books will be always held closest to my heart.
The next one is the most boring but beautifully filmed and has stunning cinematography
Hope you talk about Tom Felton's acting in the next movie. He did a phenomenal job in The Half-Blood Prince
I think this may be my favorite (or 2nd favorite) Harry Potter movie. That EPIC final battle between Voldemort & Dumbledore AND the whole "You're the weak one. You'll never know love or friendship. And I feel sorry for you" scene are some of my favorite scenes in the entire franchise :D
There are so many things they left out in the book that i wish were in the film:
•St.Mungos
•Quidditch and getting banned
•Hogsmeade interview
•More Department of Mysteries (time room, brain room etc)
•DOBBY
•Peeves
•Fred and George making life hell for Umbridge
This was definitely my favorite one n I loved how each one got darker after this movie. The ending of this and the music, it always pulls at my heart strings.
To everyone saying they don't like this movie because it leaves out a lot of the book. Remember, the book was 800 pages, and it would have been like 8 hours if they included everything. And most of what they didn't include was just side plots that weren't really necessary to the overall story. What's important is that the movie itself doesn't feel like it has anything missing.
Dude I'm reliving the books through you. I honestly don't care about the movies because (for me) after the 4th one they move away from the book's plot too much, but hearing you summarize each book takes me back. Thanks :)
Man, I'm so glad to see someone else agrees that this movie is extremely underrated! I believe after the Prisoner of Azkaban, this sits on the podium pretty easily! Gosh your review and my tastes are in alignment!
Who thinks that the Harry Potter books should turn into a TV series? I feel like there would be so much more freedom to do things that the movies couldn't. The movies were great, don't get me wrong. But some of them really missed some really great parts from the books. I feel like a Harry Potter TV series would be amazing!
Do you mean live-action or animated?
Look up worst witch.
Yasman2 Live action.
Katie Pickett What about it? It sucked. lol.
IKR? Luna Lovegood doing the commentary for a Quidditch match was hilarious! XD
I always come back to these videos and watch everything again.
Chris man, you could really talk more about acting, directing, soundtrack, cinematography and story quality in your reviews, and not just saying the whole plot of the movies. Still loving your videos
The one sequence when they're walking into the ministry for the first time is amazing. You start to see the room get larger and full to the brim with people the more the camera pulls back, and then they cross into the main hall and the camera pans up to show Fudge's banner just as the music swells, it's just...so great.
Some people hate this movie for being the shortest film based on the longest book, but honestly it's a great example of adaptation - nothing too important was cut, alterations are suitable (Cho's betrayal is cliched, but simple to understand) and actors don't act like they're on speedometer like in previous two movies.
It's interesting that you rated this movie so high. I had issues with the pacing in this, there was a lot of montages in this. As a book reader, I had a few other issues with the adaptation as well. There are things they cut out of this film that caused continuity errors in Deathly Hallows. I hated that they messed with the sound in that sequence though. Rowling didn't shield her readers from the grief, it was part of the journey. I've always wondered if there was a lot of cut content that could be restored into an extended cut, and what that might look like.
No Thank You Chris!
You always deliver fantastic reviews each week and reviewing the Harry Potter Series is my favourite of all time. The only set of films I have gone into the cinema and gotten chills when I first see the Logo on Screen.
This is my personal favourite film of the series. Keep up the great work my friend :)
I got bullied in school and I am a teacher now and I do not treat students the way Snape does. In fact no one does, because it is abusive. Him being bullied by James does not excuse his behavior towards children. Nothing does!
Joe Kemphaus yeah but it's fiction
skywolf23 dont excuse him. Omg. He's a horrible teacher not only to harry but to others as well. Even jo said that he was horrible to his students that it wasnt part of an act. And that there's really a resentment that was projected to harry because he looked like his father.
It is so lame, when discussing something wrong with a book/movie, and some turd says "yeah, but it's fiction," geez.
Yeah, Snape was awful to both Longbottom and Hermione. No excuse.
but are those bullies' children your students???? I know Snape was wrong but he had his reasons.
I loved it when the centaurs were taking away umbridge and she told harry to tell them she means no harm or something and harry was like : I must not tell lies 🔥
Can't wait for the next review Chris! Please make that happen within this week! :D
Good video Chris. I am hoping to get 5 to 10 horror films from you before OCT ends. However I appreciate even 2 or 3. As you always bring your passion and your honesty. All the best
Sadly I feel they didn't develop sirius enough so that when he died it wasn't as impactful. Also it's the longest book and on the shorter side of the run lengths and so they leave out a lot and change a lot.
as a big harry potter fan,im so in love with all of your HP reviews.
Luna is one of my favorite characters. She is pure heart.
The only thing I really agree'd with in this movie was how it looked. It was shot and directed well, the fight scenes (dumbledore v. voldemort in particular) were really cool. But, I really feel they could have played the plot a bit better. Segments in the book that were crucial to WHY Harry even went out to "save" Sirius were barely even mentioned in the movie. And there were scenes that I wish could have made it, like some of the scenes at the Black House or the hospital. For any person who never read the books, and only watched the movies, I can understand.
Your HP reviews are amazing, I love them.
I've rewatched all the Harry Potter's movies again because of your reviews. Its been an amazing experience. I love all the movies and books. Regards from Brazil!
1:56 - 2:05 is Harry in the book version of the order of the phoenix
yeah and let's be honest.. book harry sucked sometimes. Dont even get me started with how he never mastered silent spells because he hated Snape being the DADA teacher.. so fuckin' petty. lol
That being said, Harry Potter books > Harry Potter films
Scott K Well yeah in terms of detail and more backstories that could never translate well on film. But when it comes to Harry's character sometimes, I prefer the films lol
Saying the spell makes the spell stronger than silently saying it, I believe (or at least more effective).
vinnievu1 Nah I never read anything like that. Because Dumbledore, Voldemort and Snape are masters of silent spells and even wandless magic.. and those aren't weak lol. Saying spells kind of makes you predictable in a fight, not to mention slow. You can't hurl a bunch of spells/curses/jinxes when you're saying them out loud one at a time, which is what bothered me about book Harry.
Wow, I can't believe this is No 13 on trending. You're growing so much now Chris!
I still haven't seen The Deathly Hollows 1 or 2, and I absolutely hate myself for it.
Just watch 'em when you get the chance. Just be ready to have your feelings twisted and torn up a bit.
Demonsplaining HOW?
They're re-releasing the films on IMAX. Idk about Part One, but Part Two is *definitely* something you're going to want to watch on IMAX.
Catch Part One at home somehow, then catch Part Two and its glory in IMAX.
the 2 things i remember of my theater experience with this movie was when the centaurs take Umbitch away and Harry says "sorry professor. i must not tell lies" and everyone cheered and clapped for like a minute. and then when we saw Harry's muted scream when Sirius died, i was crying and i looked around and a lot of people were crying too. it was such a great experience.
These books and movies are my all-time favorites. I love your reviews of them!
Yayyy an A! I've always felt that this film deserved more love. Thank you!
Not a huge potterhead but this has ever been my favorite one in the series. Mainly because of the duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort. I think it's the most intense fight out of all the movies.
Another better movie Than Deadpool that don't get an A+
Tony Soul Those are two completely different movies why are you comparing them? Your logic is flawed.
Aseril Mozart and Justin Bieber are completly different artists, and I can say Mozart is million times better.
Aseril he can still Think one is better that the other. How is that flawed Logic?
Tony Soul Are you an idiot?
Toby Comparing movies that are from COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GENRES and thinking one is better? It's idiotic, there is no basis for comparison.
BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS NEXT REVIEW AHH FINALLY :))
Your reviews shouldn't be just a resume of the movie
Arthazar well he didn't really have something negative to say so.....yup just compliment everything
yeah but this is almost a book review. he is just resuming the story.
but he mostly tells how he feels about the story, characters etc. it not just a resume.
but the story is in the book already. In the movie you should talk about the actors the scenes, the shots, what lacked from the book which is a ton, etc.
***** Stop comparing movies from books. Please stop this Bullshit. There so many unessassry, dragged parts in books(especially this one). U can't have everything in movies. And I m happy with that. If books and movies were same, I wouldn't even bother to read the books.
He talked about actors.
That was another great video Chris. I love Harry Potter and I can't wait for your next Harry Potter review.
The scene where Harry gets possessed by Voldemort is one of the most emotionally powerful movie moments I've seen. It gets me every time.
shit I'm early let me think of a joke
my life
could'nt you come up with something more creative?
He could but why would someone like him care if he said his life is a joke then lets laugh
Bob Chillison and your mom
Haha, Love that you are reviewing these now! Keep it up, i'm kind of binge watching them...
when i watched this when i was a kid i was pretty scared of voldermort
I agree with you giving it an A.
The previous movies of the series were preparing us for the war, showing us each of the characters in different situations but in the ,,Order of the Phoenix" the war began. That's why I love it so much!
Thank you for this review. Soon I'll be watching the ,,Half-blood prince" and of course you review.
My fav HP films in order: 3, 4, 7, 1, 5, 6, 2
alamian -What about 8?
alamian -Mine are:
8, 3, 7, 4, 5, 2, 6, 1
I counted 7 and 8 as a whole, but I would say 8 is pretty great
My order: 3, 8, 7, 5, 6, 2, 1, 4
3, 7, 4, 1, 6, 2, 5.
2:55 Chris I Love your Strong Words about Umbridge.
Admit it everyone. We all wanted Umbridge to die more than Voldemort.
LUNA!!!
Chris, PLEASE review the strangers. I know you're a huge fan of horror movies and this one is awesome. I really enjoy this film and I'd like to hear what you think of it.
By the way, loved this review! Order of the Phoenix is a great adaptation of a strong novel.
I absolutely love the story of how the actress who played Luna ended up with the role.
I love this movie so much. Yates killed it, and yes, the fights were so badass. I wish we had more haha
At 1:56 was that Chris taking a shot at Albus Potter?
Great review as always! Thanks! I hope, David Yates is able to bring back some of this magic in "Phantastic Beats". The trailers didn't really do it for me. But I still want to see the finished product.
Greetings from Germany! :)
We already know what happens in the film. Go in depth about the craft.
This film also takes on an interesting angle when you view it as a possession story taking place in the Harry Potter universe. it's a little different from typical possession movies in that Voldemort isn't trying to control Harry through his soul, but rather through his mind.
Chris, it's HER-mione, not HAR-mione!!!
Harmione is a ship name lol
why isn't this channel over a million subs I love your videos the way your so passionate and these close to 10 minute videos are perfect.
I agree. Umbridge was worse than Voldemort,
Why?
Because she is actually a very realistic villain - selfish, narcissistic, corrupt, racist, sociopatic, many other things.
Great job! Looking forward to the next harry potter reviews !
It's interesting that you liked the fact that Harry had a look of aw when the house appeared. That's actually something that really annoyed me about the movies: he's been making/learning about magic for 5 years now, it doesn't make sense to be surprised when something magical happens anymore.
I think it makes sense that he's in awe because he wasn't expecting it. But I guess I understand your point.
It makes senses if its the first time seeing that particular thing happen whether is magic or not, just like our regular muggle world. If you see something interesting youve never seen before you're not going to be all like "nahh not impressed, ive seen muggle shit before". Of course youd be in awe if you see some wild stuff 😂
In my opinion i feel that DH1 is the most underrated HP movie. Everytime i revisit it it gets better. It is a lot slower and less eventful but it's very emotionally complex and i personally find it really compelling
This is definetly my favorite Harry Potter movie and I love watching it every time.
I've seen this maybe twice and remember not liking it very much. This reviews definitely persuaded me to give it another shot. Thanks Chris, this review was inspiring.
This is my least favorite one by FAR. I find it to be incredibly boring and dull with it's...blue filter.
But I enjoy this positive outlook and review of it!
Well the 5th book was blue too (American cover version).. so at least the movie was faithful to that :P
True! Lol
Great Review!!! I would've liked you to expand a little bit more in the fantastic duel sequence between Dumbledore vs Voldemort in my opinion the best duel sequence of the entire franchise
This is definitely my favorite in the series.
I rewatched this film recently. It's better than I remember. I definitely agree that the action scenes were great. The one part of these scenes I couldn't get into at all was the Death Eaters and Order of the Phoenix members turning into those light and dark wispy things during fights. I just thought it broke the pace of the awesome magic duels, plus it appears out of nowhere (it wasn't in the books or any of the previous films).
Chris plz review the greasy strangler. I loved it and would give it an A-. Love to hear ur thoughts on it :)
yes please
greasy strangler sounds like a title for a bad porno
More like a snuff film.
I am Loving these Harry Potter Reviews! I thought my Harry Pooter standards were gonna be too high, but I see now that your on my level. Kudos Chris!
I'm a sixteen year old filmmaker based out of New England. Last November I directed my first short film, The Sniper, which has been accepted to five film festivals and has gained nearly ten thousand views on TH-cam. For more than a year I've been working on a mockumentary style series that follows a group of teenagers dealing with the ups and downs of their teenage lives. The series took over a hundred to create and has been an insane amount of work and a huge learning experience. The series will become available on Amazon Video on October 19th and eventually on iTunes and Google Play, as well as here on TH-cam.
I'd love to here anyones opinion on the series, Art Less (newest videos on the channel) and the short film I directed, The Sniper (channel trailer). Thanks!
