Keep in mind the saintly example enhancement is a good combo with divine intervention. Imagine your character dies. You gain d3+1 miracle dice for the unit dying. You can then use divine intervention to revive the model with the enhancement to gain it again. Im pretty sure it works this way as nothing says the benefit happens once a game :) therefore i find its better to take it on a model like the cannoness which can be pretty terrifying with the blessed blade plus the detachment rule. So your opponent is almost forced to kill it again.

One thing I found very useful, and many sisters have found useful too, is to play an ally knigh. I personally like the Questoris Crusader. The main issue is that it is not an AS unit, so you it cannot perform acts of faith, but it covers many of the weaknesses of sisters at the moment.
I also like sacrosants with a Junith Eruita. They are quite tough: 3+sv, 4+ invulnerable, -1 to get hit and -1 to get wounded. If you really want to make it a centerpiece, you can put an imagifier too, which makes them 2+ sv, and when those arc flagelants and crusaders die, you can reroll the miracle dice before adding them to your pool.
Adepta Sororitas is my favourite faction of the game, but I feel like they are missing something. Despite the cool rules, they feel so underpowered. AS have always been normal humans with amazing rules due to faith, and I love that, but there have been too many nerfs simultaneously and they have been really struggling. Also, their rules, while great, are actually very similar in power level to those of other armies that actually do not need to get a unit killed, or are superhuman level models. It feels like if we are going for the thematic of normal human with powers given by faith, the rules need to be bolder and much more powerful to compensate.

@gerardgibert756 which is kinda what's holding the sisters back imo. If GW added the sacrecents and the dominions into the battleline section and allowed most characters to group in those squads you could run some pretty good character combos, It's just unfortunate.
Junith Eruita is a standout for me in running with the sacrecents imo -1 to hit and wound and a 3+ sv 4+ invuln is good enough ish to consider as a frontline unit.
Otherwise I think a fightly canones is better. Blessed blade is a pretty punchy melee option and if you pop the 2+ invuln from the cannones at the right time it can have the same effect.

They shouldn’t need an ally knight. They should be good enough on their own. The whole army needs to cost less points and multi melta needs to go back to old stat line

A couple of inaccuracies: Blade of St. Ellynor adds +1 to A, S and D, not just A and D (+2 to all if the bearer is below full wounds).
Litanies of Faith re-rolls up to three dice if the bearer has lost wounds or if they are leading a squad below half strength.
Light of the Emperor does not ignore save modifiers.
Another thing with the Triumph is the one relic gives +1 A on rapid fire weapons, it does NOT increase the rapid fire stat. That is +1 A at full range.

If I actually do get back into the Tabletop version of 40K I'll probably run the Adepta Sororitas using a combo of a Order Militant probably the Order of the Ebon Chalice with a good number of Sister Hospitallers to go along with my Battle Sisters.

  • @whitefamilliar3057

I dont necessarily love the list you all brought up. It sorely lacks in a ton of ways.
For anyone seriously looking to run this army "well" i would recommend a FAR different list.
Junith with a full squad of sacrecents is always core in a list of mine. The whole squad is a 2+sv 4+ invuln -1 to hit and wound, which gives you a really good frontline and melee threat. (Plus the extra cp is game changing for using grenades and tank shock as well as some of the decent AS strats more often).
Dominion squads are my go to over retributors at the moment they are so overcosted theres almost no point in running them, granted you only get 1 multimelta and 3 meltaguns, at least you can still use the detachment rule in removing the chaff bolter sisters to make the remaining guns better with your hit and wound modifiers. This is a really good squad to be lead by a palatine for lethal hits.
Overall i think the sisters rule of miracle dice on a unit death is a trap, the core battle sister squads can be split with immolators to squads of 5 and move to control objectives and at the start of your command phase for each unit of battle sisters on an objective you gain an extra miracle dice. This way you dont have to loose models to use the army rule. Until we get the codex as sisters players to play them effectively we have to work around the army rules until they are fixed. They just aren't balanced enough to consider really running a good martyr list.
For the record i think they are spot on with exorcist tanks being the best damage dealing option, but i think that theres a stand out with mortifiers and penitent engines too with the buzz blades. Tank shock works really good on those. They have the vehicle keyword and a strength 10 melee. Which means you will almost always get the most out of the cp for tank shock and having advance and charge on an engine (penitent) with a 2d6 flamer at strength 6 (edit: I believe it's actually strength 5 on the penitent flamers) for decent overwatch is kinda good as well.
Been playing a ton of this army recently and would love to hear feedback on this post and peoples thoughts as im still learning them as well.

    • @WoWisdeadtome
      @WoWisdeadtome 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

This was definitely written before the faith powered multi-melta was discovered: Triumph (allowing two acts of faith), a Battle Sister Squad with multi-melta and joined by a Palatine and Dialogus. The Palatine gives [Lethal Hits] to all weapons and the Dialogus converts miracle dice to 6s. You then sub in any miracle dice and a natural 6 miracle dice for the multi-melta and you just "rolled" double 6s to hit which then auto-wounds as well. If any applicable save is failed you can substitute more miracle dice to maximize the damage (thanks to the Triumph). If you are willing to commit 4 miracle dice (including two natural 6s) you can pretty much automatically cause 12 wounds (16 in melta range) to a vehicle or monster AND it works on overwatch because the miracle dice are going to fix your hit rolls as 6s anyway. Typically, I recommend giving the Palatine the Blade of Saint Ellynor enhancement to give the unit some punch in combat because this unit becomes a prime target for close combat. A model with 5A, S5, -2 and 3 damage (6A, S6, -2 and 4D if below starting wounds) hitting on 2+ is scary. Optionally, this squad can be mounted in a Rhino to help protect it, but it will not be completely mobile if you want to stay in range of the Triumph, though it is still reasonably powerful without the aura.
Retributors, particularly with their fairly dramatic recent points drop, has made them a decent selection. Sisters really struggle with big tough things like tanks and monsters. 4 Retributors with multi-meltas and mounted in an Immolator is one of your best available options for dealing with them. They will be reasonably mobile and with the number of shots they get some are bound to land, plus the Immolator itself can be equipped with a twin-linked multi-melta and if it fires at the same target as the Retributors it effectively makes all their multi-meltas twin-linked as well. Easily one of your best options for trying to bring down big stuff without much or any investment of miracle dice. Aside from this squad and the faith powered Multi-melta, tank shock and grenades are sadly some of you best ways to inflict damage on these targets. I would not field Retributors on foot nor would I take more than 1 unit as they kind of need the Immolator too and that's another 115 points.
I don't think your Junith Eurita and Sacrasants unit is actually legal. You need an Imagifier to give Sacrasants a 2+ save and while an Imagifier CAN be attached to a BSS squad with Junith they can NOT both be attached to Sacrasants at the same time. If you read the Imagifier's leader description it specifically says she can be attached to a Battle Sister Squad that has been joined by a Canoness, Palatine or Junith Eurita. I think Battle Sister Squad in this context is specific rather than generic because if it was meant to be a generic term I would expect GW to say "Adepta Sororitas unit" instead of Battle Sister Squad. I was sad to realize this as well. Junith and an Imagifier attached to a BSS makes a solid front-line squad though, either way you have a 3+ save/4+ invul with -1 to hit, though sadly not -1 to wound.
Exorcists and Castigators are completely solid choices all around and excellent consistent damage dealers, though the recent 20 point nerf to Exorcists is making it harder to work two into the army.
I typically field three Battle Sister Squads, as generating and manipulating miracle dice is how you ensure your big hitters perform the miracles you're going to need from them. So I'll give you my last list:
      Characters:
      - Canoness: Condemnor Boltgun (flavor), Blessed Blade, Mantle of Ophelia, attached to Sacrasants
      - Imagifier: Litanies of Faith, attached to Heavy Flamer BSS
      - Dialogus: Attached to Multi-melta BSS
      - Palatine: Plasma pistol, Palatine Blade, Blade of St. Ellynor, attached to Multi-melta BSS
      - Junith Eurita, attached to Heavy Flamer BSS
      - Saint Celestine, attached to a Seraphim Squad
      - Triumph of Saint Katherine, attached to Heavy Bolter BSS
      Infantry Units:
3 x 10 Battle Sisters Combi-weapon/Power weapon for superiors and one squad with each of bolter, flamer and melta options. (Dice gods reward lore choices)
1 x 5 Celestian Sacrasants (Spear of the Faithful, Plasma pistol, 4 Anointed Halberds), mounted in Immolator. Generally used to counter charge.
      1 x 5 Retributors (Combi-weapon/Power Weapon, 4 Multi-Melta), mounted in Immolator
      2 x 5 Seraphim (Plasma pistol/Power Weapon, 4 Hand Flamers)
      Vehicles:
      2 x Immolator (Twin-linked Multi-Melta, Hunter Killer Missile)
2 x Castigator (Battle Canon, Hunter Killer Missile and Storm Bolter)
1 x Exorcist (Exorcist Missile Launcher, Hunter Killer Missile)
      2 x 1 Mortifier (Anchorite Sarcophagus, Twin Penitent Buzz-Blades, 2 Heavy Bolter)
      Total: 1995 points
A few quick notes, the Canoness and Sacrasants (plus thier immolator) can be swapped for 10 arco-flagellants in a Rhino, with a little tinkering you can get +1 to wound for them with a preacher. 10 Arco-flagellants with 6A 4+ to hit at S5 with sustained hits, twin-linked and +1 to wound will really hurt anything in power armor and devastate anything without power armor. Though with the nerf to the Exorcist you might consider dropping it for a third Castigator to save 40 points if you go this route. If you want Celestine stuck in rather than hoping around you can take a squad of Zephrim in place of one of the Seraphim units. I really think GW needs to give Repentia the ability to be joined by a character and give them anti-vehicle 3+ like chainfists or anti-vehicle 5+ with devastating wounds. Sisters could really use another anti-vehicle option but no character really limits their survivability and power even if they are only 55 points for a squad now.

@WoWisdeadtome this was typed out closer to the beginning of 10ths release, I have definitely changed up my ideas since. The list I run is actually pretty close to the one you proposed.
However I still put quite a bit of worth on the pain engines and now morven vahl and the suits are even more tempting with the cumulative 10 point reduction for the pair.
The sacrecents I had wrong. Thought it was a 2+ base like in 9th but it's a base 3 that's buffed by the imagifier. I'm aware that the sacrecents aren't legally double lead as much as I think that is silly and should be wholly possible. Junith with the sacrecents is still a decent option for something that is slightly sticky on objectives with -1 to hit and wound with a 4+ invuln.
Your assessment on the faction is quite solid

  • @MartynStanleyAuthor
    @MartynStanleyAuthor ปีที่แล้ว +2

I think my gripe with 10th is really that low Miracle dice are suddenly not so useful. So you really have to think about taking things which grant re-rolls, treat miracle dice as sixes or allow you to Sacrifice miracle dice for a benefit. I'm still in the process of building my army. I've played Morven Vahl, 10 Battle Sisters and 5 Celestian Sacresants as an ally to the Space Wolves in a very unofficial, friendly. I still have to paint the Sacresants. I also have 6 Paragons, 2 Penitent Engines and a Hospitalier to build and paint. Then I want to take them up to about the size of my Space Wolves and Nids armies (Approx 1500 pts) So I'm thinking a Dialogus, an Imagifier, some Arco Flagellants, maybe with a Preacher? Definitely an Exorcist. I like the Celestine model, but not sure about adding her with the Zephyrim. I also quite like Repentia, but I don't know if I want Repentia and Arcos in the same army. I quite like the look f the Castigator, but actually the Exorcist is just so much more useful with indirect fire. I'm going to magnetize the penitent engines so they can be penitents or Mortifiers because I think they are both better at different things.

How about The emperor protection working like this starting strength 6+ invul, 6+ feel no pain, below starting 5+ invul, 5+ feel no pain, below half 4+ invul, 4+ feel no pain, sound rather op but sister most of the time are wound on 3+ even 2+ so this let then live a little more, as for weapons sister have the so called holly trinity of weapons, Bolter, flamer and melta, then all bolt weapons should have sustain, all melta lethal, and all flamers devastating, there.... I strongly doubt you have actually played games with the list you suggest here, which is sad. It has two MASSIVE glaring weaknesses that would become obvious in a game or two. The first being chasing after maximizing army rules that are just weak and the second being the cute looks good on paper theory crafting selections that you quickly discover are just that, cute theory crafts that break down in reality. You win games by playing the missions and preventing your opponent playing them. Lots of tiny units that are trivial to kill? You are just giving VP away. Death Cult Assassins? Just no. There is no reason for them to exist. Take another unit of Battle Sisters or an Exaction Squad. Guess what, Battle Sisters are the same point cost, get more wounds, better save and generate MD WITHOUT dying! Crusaders are a better choice, but again, just take more Battle Sisters instead, you can make them much harder kill and be generating MD all game without dying. Your Retributor idea is cute, but also terrible. Retribs are the most over costed model in the faction and probably a front runner for the entire game. They cost more than Space Marines and will die before they ever shoot anything. You are wasting almost 200 points on that alone. That could be a second Castigator or Junith with a squad of Sacresants, both much better options.

I think you’re rationalising a bad army and the writers genuinely thinking the army is more durable and killy than it is.
Sisters cost pretty much the same as marines but have half the wound, half the attacks etc etc. You’re only able to play MSU if you take the bizarre two model units. Otherwise you would have the same number of units as a marine player.
You’re also paying a premium for squishy T3 1W units when Genecult can respawn their units for free. Sisters should absolutely brutalise non marine units and stuff like Genecult.
Either Sisters need to go down in points with the ability to take squads of 5 to 20 or they rework the profile to make them genuinely a middle ground between a Guard squad and a Marine. Instead points costing them as if they are that.
Your list centres around abusing the artillery and two model units and a few unintended synergies. Sisters are not a play the objective army. Thematically they should be an unsubtle sledgehammer. They’re not T3 Raven Guard.
