Yay for another Islamic or Arabic lore in SMT. Zaccoum and Buraq from Islamic lore or Alilat from Arabic lore predating Islam will be interesting (especially when they're being mentioned in the Quranic verse also as Zaqqum and Latta).
if you're interested in arab folklore in SMT, there's a demon called Alilat in smt, which is an old arabian god, pretty sure there was more but this one came to mind

The shaytan persona may also be a a reference to how in Hindi it means naughty (like calling a child naughty, that kind) so making him a kid fits it more imo
I think that's how the word shaytan actually came into Hindi. It was used for evil, and then it was used for kids who would be a nuisance to deal, hence metaphorically called "shaytan". It's pretty interesting how languages evolve too. That is actually a very interesting detail, thanks for pointing out.
Brother don't make fun of the verses, joking about verses of god is kufr as Allah said: If you question them, they will certainly say, “We were only talking idly and joking around.” Say, “Was it Allah, His revelations, and His Messenger that you ridiculed?”
6:13 Correction & few addition: Angels do have free thoughts & free will, what they lacks are things that are associate with worldly desire & mortality in general. such as hunger, sleep, lust, envy, greed, etc. What separate Angel from Human & Djinn among many other things are their absolute loyalty toward God. Otherwise they are not a creature but a machine As for names, only 10 are known: Jibril, Mikail, Izrail, Israfil, Munkar, Nankir, Rakib, Atid, Malik & Ridwan. Whether other Angels have names or not are subject to debate even among scholars With that said, as both a muslim & SMT fan. I'm really glad you covered Islamic inspired demon part of SMT with respect & high accuracy. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Im muslim too and we were taught that Angels do not have free will. This is more of a discussion among those who identify with the thought of sects rather than Islam as a whole.
You did some good reading ngl. I like how you took many sources in mind, including pre-Islamic ones for an etymology check.. A bit of correction: Azrail isn't explicitly stated in the Quran, even though it is widely used as a name for the Angel of Death. There is also Malik (an angel), who's thought to be the guard of Hell. Additionally, Shaitan sometimes as a term extends to humans in the Quran. There are verses that use the expression "Shaitans of the 'Ins' (Humans) and the Jinn" (Al An'am 112), making the Shaytan more of an evil position that any sentient beings aside from the Angels can obtain. The Shayateen of Jinn are not also the sole source of evil, there are more elements, such as the Nafs (Ego) and the Hawa (desires, evil ones in that context), which even the Shaytan may have started developing his "Shaytanness" with.
Thanks for the video. Islam has a lot of gaming potential, and that's coming from a Muslim lol, and I feel its wholly underrated in the gaming community. Did you know that the modern interpretation of magic, with its chants, incantations, spell diagrams and so on, was pioneered by a Muslim philosopher called Al-Kindi? Other philosophers and scientists added to that work, but most importantly, magic itself was considered a science that was studied during the Abassid Caliphate. How awesome is that?
I don't even know what SMT is, I thought this was a religious channel that discusses about various religions. Your information is perfect, everything was precise. Thank you.
Man, a surprise islamic ed class is not what I expect to get into this morning. Nice vid! Really brought me back to my teen years where I was so absorbed in learning about the middle eastern occult. One hell of a rabbit hole. Speaking of- kinda surprised Dajjal hasn't made an entry in the SMT lore. The man's not much of a taboo (as in crazy fundies won't come at you with death threats and swords drawn out ) to depict or talk about and his backstory can get pretty wild depending on the source/ interpretation. p/s: 10:20 lol at iblis drawn as knockoff Zeruel from Evangelion. The bad dude deserved it though.
8:43 This is actually still a popular piece of folklore at least where I'm from going by the name ام الدويس which translates to "mother at the door step" since the story goes that she appears at your doorstep and asks to be invited in and attempts to seduce any man in the house and eventually killing them with a sickle when they notice that her feet are horse hooves. I specifically remember my mom putting on an old VHS tape of a bunch of folk stories about different jinn when I was a kid with her being on it along with another jinni that was made of rotten dates and had 3 eyes if I remember correctly, Interesting stuff.
That sounds a lot like the Native American Deer Woman, who tries to seduce unfaithful men and then tramples them to death with her deer like legs and hooves. Always fascinating how some stories so distant and unrelated are so similar.
@@Gamespud94 I remember when I was reading about the Fairies of Celtic belief, and the general consensus of how Irish people feel about them, I was so fascinated by how many parallels existed between them and the Jinn.

Honestly, I'd love if SMT6 had Iblis as the Chaos leader instead of Lucifer, it's been 8 games and while I like the nuance of Lucifer in SMT I want to see something different
Agreed. Lucifer had his chance to shine, and for now, I think they've done everything they could/should with the character. Ideally, I'd prefer the next SMT game choose more unconventional alignments, like 2 and 3 did, but regarldess, I'd love to see Iblis as a major force of the chaos demon side.
Great work. All the content and even your pronounciations and arabic words and phrases esp. the prayer for protection against shaytan in the beginning.
My personal wish for a new arabic demon would be the nasnas, a type of jinni that's missing half it's body. Im sure Kaneko or Doi could make a really trippy/creative design for one.
Even though I don't explore Islamic lore, it's exhilarating to see viewers of Muslim faith thank Tony4You for all that lore surrounding djinn, Ifrit, and the religion's version of Satan, Iblis. Hopefully there would be videos discussing demons based on Greek, Norse, Celtic, Chinese, Polynesian and Japanese myths on this very channel. I'd love to learn more!
Very accurate information about Jinn. Tho I would also add how people immediately leave the fold of Islam just by trying to get into contact with Jinn, how we cant even imagine how Jinn look because our imagination couldnt reach that level and that we wouldnt be able to comprehend it. Same with the paradise, hell, Allah and angels. How some humans use Jinn to perform magic etc etc. In short: There is some stuff that could still be mentioned but to be fair, its a topic with a lot of information. To say and explain everything in a 12 minute video is quite impossible
Loved this topic, man SMT needs to explore more Islamic and other regional demons! Indonesia (and Southeast Asia in general) has a lot of regional demons and mythological creatures that can be explored with SMT’s interpretation. Rangda and Barong is good examples but we have so much more than that!
The name That is attributed to the Angel of death, Azrael, is actually never mentioned in any Islamic scripture. A lot of information that people say is part of Islamic theology, especially concerning the jinn, on the internet and even books aren’t from Islamic scripture but Arabian folklore or just things from Judaism or Christianity that people think are also is part of Islam
Yep. In Islam, Angel of death is simply called Angel of Death or just Death. And yeah, things that came from Arabian folklore or Judaochristian, while it shouldn't be part of Islamic theology, could be a part of Islamic history as prophet Muhammad enjoyed telling folktales and stories
The whole story of Satan being a fallen angel is also not supported in the Bible. The truth is religion is always being influenced and changed because people will believe what they find useful to them instead of what a religious text says. It's why most people think a "Cherub" is what children become if they die instead of bronze four faced heralds of God. One seems to actually fill a need people have and the other is just a acid trip
You forgot Zaccoum, Israfel, Buraq, the Houri and Alilat (technically). Oh, and I guess Azrael. You didn't look at the depiction of the Ghoul either, it specifically mentions the Islamic origin in some of the games.
small correction : iblis is not the enemy of God, he is the enemy of mankind. nobody can oppose God's will in islam. iblis doesn't even seek to be in the place of God, his ultimate goal is to kill the divine spark in mankind and to seperate us from God.
Great video ! Though you missed out on of the more interesting Islamic-based demons in SMT being Zaccoum, the tree in Jahannam with fruits shaped like heads of Shaytans, which the people of hell eat, according to Islamic scriptures.
There is no such thing as 'fallen angel' in Islam. Angels are infallible since God did not give them free will. The demons, shaitaaan, evil are actually the evil jinns. Because jinns, just like humans have given free will. So some jinns are good and some jinns are bad, just like good and bad human beings exist in this world. Both of these creations are created by God to worship Him. The Quran says : " And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me " [ Surah Al-Dhariyat : Verse 56] Morever, in Islam, Iblis (Lucifer) does not want to overthrow God, since he knows that no one can overpower God Almighty. He is just too arrogant to consider human beings superior than him. Thats why he asked permission of God to whisper into the ears of humans in order to make them astray, and God granted him this ability.
I was actually impressed with your pronunciation good job! Talking about Jin still freaks me out a little as someone who grew up hearing about them lol
I was surprised to find out Iblis shared his origins with Ifrit and Jinn. Despite the many problems plaguing Sonic 06, I actually really liked the concept of Iblis in that game, as a cataclysmic, all-consuming evil that'd destroy the world in the near future. Given his role as leader of devils in Islam, and his affinity for fire and lava, I've grown to appreciate his portrayal in that game, and I'd love to see his portrayal in SMT at some point, as a similarly dangerous opponent among demons.
Very good job on explaining things properly. I have some events if you may, with jinn during my life time, nothing crazy at all, but i have met some people and heard stories of some people who have a proper involvement with the world of jinn at very high levels. You have scratched the surface, i would say make more videos on this topic from the islamic narrative and go deep inside the world of jinn their places, a very interesting event that happens is the grand meetings of jinn on far oceans, look up on it, if not try to find someone who can provide you with actual knowledge. Good luck.
Whenever I see an Islamic figure in SMT I get excited as they are very rare. I hope we get an SMT game that has them in the spotlight. They did focus on Hindu deities in IVa so I don't think it's an absurd request. Nice video!

Excellent work, you have done your homework .
At the beginning he said
(aeudh biallah min alshaytan alrajim)
It means
(I seek refuge in Allah from the cursed Satan)
That shows you the power they possess as race they influence human to act unnaturally they have powers .
people who are dealing with black magic are having direct communication with the jinn race itself
Thanks brother it means a lot!
@@Tony4You you deserve it , subscribed, keep up the good work
i konw im late but this so accurate, amazing video.
0:04 best intro yet ❤
Amazing video like always ❤
Thank you legend!
Finally I've been waiting for this video, thank you
I can't believe you use my favourite SMTIV BGM! That Ashura kai shop BGM is top tier chill cyberpunk music!
Yay for another Islamic or Arabic lore in SMT. Zaccoum and Buraq from Islamic lore or Alilat from Arabic lore predating Islam will be interesting (especially when they're being mentioned in the Quranic verse also as Zaqqum and Latta).
Babe wake up, Tony4You uploaded 🙌
Now that’s one way to open a video - really on brand. Salutations
I gotta make sure the shaytan don't get to me or my viewers
Its the very first tony intro that caught me off guard, best moment of the video
Last video was latin, now Arabic, you never know what to expect lol
as a muslim as well, i found your new video is very exciting and great, thanks for covering the djinns myth, tony
if you're interested in arab folklore in SMT, there's a demon called Alilat in smt, which is an old arabian god, pretty sure there was more but this one came to mind
yeah i totally shocked they included allat pre-islamic area in p5r
it was an idol they use to associate with god and situated it near the ka'ba in mecca, which was a huge nono in the religion
My cow mothers son smearing here to degrade Islam with derogatory remark on Arab as if Arab his burning sensation! Where in Islam claimed that Islam only for Arab? Don't jump to conclusions without search a faith if not known, you should prophecies your own faith if you think if have any credibility,
this video was very well done, top level research by Tony
Great work as a muslim myself i think you done a 11/10 work keep it up
I was very skeptical about this video in the beginning but you did not speak without facts and you are very respectful of the other religions and you have my respect
I do my best to respect all religions first order of which us understanding. Thanks for watching!
World lore keep up with the great content
Ilove it when I inadvertently find a channel of such quality.
I live that you did too! Welcome
The shaytan persona may also be a a reference to how in Hindi it means naughty (like calling a child naughty, that kind) so making him a kid fits it more imo
Like real kids. 😁
Great observation! I would be inclined to agree as well
I think that's how the word shaytan actually came into Hindi. It was used for evil, and then it was used for kids who would be a nuisance to deal, hence metaphorically called "shaytan". It's pretty interesting how languages evolve too. That is actually a very interesting detail, thanks for pointing out.
bruh shaytan word comes to hindi from arabic
As a Muslim, this makes me launch Ayat Ul Kursi at 3am 😂
Lmao were you scared ??
@@Andi_Aliev it is creepy to see the types of jinns and their figures.
Brother don't make fun of the verses, joking about verses of god is kufr as Allah said:
If you question them, they will certainly say, “We were only talking idly and joking around.” Say, “Was it Allah, His revelations, and His Messenger that you ridiculed?”
't first of all you made a haram joke(launch). 2nd, video wasn't even scary.
you want attention?
Alhamdulilah Bro Started The Video With Taawuz
I love adding little details like that, especially when it protects me from the shaytan
6:13
Correction & few addition: Angels do have free thoughts & free will, what they lacks are things that are associate with worldly desire & mortality in general. such as hunger, sleep, lust, envy, greed, etc. What separate Angel from Human & Djinn among many other things are their absolute loyalty toward God. Otherwise they are not a creature but a machine
As for names, only 10 are known: Jibril, Mikail, Izrail, Israfil, Munkar, Nankir, Rakib, Atid, Malik & Ridwan. Whether other Angels have names or not are subject to debate even among scholars
With that said, as both a muslim & SMT fan. I'm really glad you covered Islamic inspired demon part of SMT with respect & high accuracy. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Im muslim too and we were taught that Angels do not have free will. This is more of a discussion among those who identify with the thought of sects rather than Islam as a whole.
very nice on how you even touch on the linguistic aspect
I try to cover a little bit of everything for these vids
Thank you.
Great video 👍
I never knew the word majnun has the root word in jinn. Now that I think about it, it does make sense.
Welcome to Tony4muse I-i mean Tony4you
..As a muslim enjoyer (I'm not a muslim) this is good to know.
Wow I learned, Thank you 💯👏🏿❤️✨
Islamic mythology is underrated
Thats not myth
I think the "Ghoul" might be one of them, because my mom used to call me one whenever I'd act up
such a cool video! thanks for the informations
@@Gamespud94 I suppose it's because we all have some primal fears that are just engrained in our brains so even some parts of mythology that are from completely different parts of the world will share some features
Tony, you're definitely for me
The only thing that is never implied in Islam is that we are children of god, we are not, we are slaves and worshipers of Allah. other than that, great video.
Wish this comment was seen more
rightfull comment
Id much rather be called a child of GOD then a slave of allah
YESHUA AKBAR
Damn tony actually did the video! thanks for this man i forgot about this recommendation. You the lore GOAT
It might take a while, but I do get around to good suggestions!
Pog new Tony 4 u video!!! Love your videos they always make my day 10x better
I can see you put in a lot of effort in your research. Brilliant work, Alhamdulillah.
Glad you keep uploading
Honestly, I'd love if SMT6 had Iblis as the Chaos leader instead of Lucifer, it's been 8 games and while I like the nuance of Lucifer in SMT I want to see something different
Agreed. Lucifer had his chance to shine, and for now, I think they've done everything they could/should with the character. Ideally, I'd prefer the next SMT game choose more unconventional alignments, like 2 and 3 did, but regarldess, I'd love to see Iblis as a major force of the chaos demon side.
I get excited every time you work in tracks from smt4/a
Oh yeah, the OST of that game is such a great fit for my series
Great work. All the content and even your pronounciations and arabic words and phrases esp. the prayer for protection against shaytan in the beginning.
That Audzubillahiminasyaitonirrajim hit me hard bro :D
Stay safe my brother, Allah protect us!
Mashallah. As a muslim, good job very accurate.
Really appreciate it! Glad I covered the religion well
lover of all cultures lores here thank you
Culture Enjoyers rise up
My personal wish for a new arabic demon would be the nasnas, a type of jinni that's missing half it's body. Im sure Kaneko or Doi could make a really trippy/creative design for one.
:D finally, I've been interested in this topic for a good while
Even though I don't explore Islamic lore, it's exhilarating to see viewers of Muslim faith thank Tony4You for all that lore surrounding djinn, Ifrit, and the religion's version of Satan, Iblis.
Bro that opening caught me off guard so much haha.
thumbs up for the first joke, i dont find it funny but im glad your pronunciation is close enough.
i just realized this is a SMT lore video and not just mythtical being vid in general
I'm an exmuslim, I'm surprised you didn't mention about djinn and solomon/Sulaiman. The 72 demon gods just turned to djinn
Bro are u even Muslim there is nothing in the quran bout dis
Bro shut up you jews are just waiting for dajjal
That intro was good
Wonder if there are any Jin that watch Tony4You videos 🤔
Great vid as always!
Majnun means "Mad (intoxicated) with love" - usually through the longing of separation.
Thank ... Nice video tony... Smt my fav
@@snailthelostcow63 true true true
The whole story of Satan being a fallen angel is also not supported in the Bible. The truth is religion is always being influenced and changed because people will believe what they find useful to them instead of what a religious text says. It's why most people think a "Cherub" is what children become if they die instead of bronze four faced heralds of God. One seems to actually fill a need people have and the other is just a acid trip
I'm a sucker for Islamic mythos and I really love Ifreet.
Nice another lore vid before work
You forgot Zaccoum, Israfel, Buraq, the Houri and Alilat (technically). Oh, and I guess Azrael.
You didn't look at the depiction of the Ghoul either, it specifically mentions the Islamic origin in some of the games.
zaqoom is the name of tree in hell .
small correction : iblis is not the enemy of God, he is the enemy of mankind.
nobody can oppose God's will in islam. iblis doesn't even seek to be in the place of God, his ultimate goal is to kill the divine spark in mankind and to seperate us from God.
Great video ! Though you missed out on of the more interesting Islamic-based demons in SMT being Zaccoum, the tree in Jahannam with fruits shaped like heads of Shaytans, which the people of hell eat, according to Islamic scriptures.
Really well done! On point neutrality and depth of presentation.
Thanks a lot
Tony the goat always dropping bangers
There is no such thing as 'fallen angel' in Islam. Angels are infallible since God did not give them free will. The demons, shaitaaan, evil are actually the evil jinns. Because jinns, just like humans have given free will. So some jinns are good and some jinns are bad, just like good and bad human beings exist in this world. Both of these creations are created by God to worship Him. The Quran says :
" And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me " [ Surah Al-Dhariyat : Verse 56]
Morever, in Islam, Iblis (Lucifer) does not want to overthrow God, since he knows that no one can overpower God Almighty. He is just too arrogant to consider human beings superior than him. Thats why he asked permission of God to whisper into the ears of humans in order to make them astray, and God granted him this ability.
U deserve my subscribe, and like for ur work,,
I was actually impressed with your pronunciation good job! Talking about Jin still freaks me out a little as someone who grew up hearing about them lol
Thats a reaaallly good video
Kinda accurate, good job
I was surprised to find out Iblis shared his origins with Ifrit and Jinn. Despite the many problems plaguing Sonic 06, I actually really liked the concept of Iblis in that game, as a cataclysmic, all-consuming evil that'd destroy the world in the near future. Given his role as leader of devils in Islam, and his affinity for fire and lava, I've grown to appreciate his portrayal in that game, and I'd love to see his portrayal in SMT at some point, as a similarly dangerous opponent among demons.
Tony. Nice vid but you forgor Alilat and Zaccoum lol. Or this is just focused on Jinn?
Id say this is more focused on the demons, since he dint include the azrael and israfel which were featured in a few games
Buraq has a banger design, I hope he appears in SMT VI.
Good luck.
Appreciate the effort and video is great but gawd that pronunciation at the beginning hit me like a truck. Y'all gotta roll some R's.
6:31 there is no single mentioning of Azra'il, rather he is referred to as "malakul mout" the angle of death.
good video
Whenever I see an Islamic figure in SMT I get excited as they are very rare. I hope we get an SMT game that has them in the spotlight. They did focus on Hindu deities in IVa so I don't think it's an absurd request.
Nice video!
