How to Remove Plastic Shower Curtain Rings

I did carpentry work for Princeton University for eleven years when I was younger. I can figure out ANYTHING if it’s mechanical. Anything that is, EXCEPT how to open a closed plastic shower curtain hook. Out of pure frustration, I googled this and saw the video. Thank you Sooooo much for solving this mystery for me!!!

Try a little heat from a hairdryer to release.
Try a little dab of oil to snap together.
