You guys are so fun. It's great that you all share your love for reading. Some YA recommendations I have are Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, The Selection by Kiera Cass, Ruby Red by Kerstin Grier, The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds [it's written in verse], and Monday's Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson.

Love this video! I taught 7th grade for 15 years-it’s the best! My all-time favorite book is The Giver. If you’re looking for beautiful writing, try The House in Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros.

Wonderful presentation, Olive! Great book picks. I'll check some of those out when our local library reopens. Some of my favorites are Hoot by Carl Hiaasen, Matilda by Roald Dahl, Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery and The Magnificent Mya Tibbs series by Crystal Allen. I'm writing MG so it's one of my favorite genres. If you'd like to take a peek at a few chapters of my manuscript, let me know. Your dad already has. I love your silly parents and their jammies! Thank you, Ally! We've even tried to pay Olive to read MG manuscripts, but as much as she likes reading on her own, she dislikes helping her parents with their business. That said, we will tell her that one of our favorite clients, who is super funny, has asked for a read. :)

What a wholesome video! I just stumbled on this by chance and it was just so sweet to watch her talk about the books she love. Personally, I read a lot of YA and middle grade so I have some recommendations.
1) The Thing About Jellyfish. I can't recommend this book enough. It's my third favorite book of all time. It's so heartfelt and beautifully written. It's about a young girl who takes part in a science project all while learning to cope with the loss of her best friend.
2) Guardians of Ga'hoole series. A pretty dark book series about owls who are sent to a brainwashing facility.
3) The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. A book about a sentient china rabbit. Very beautifully written and tear jerking.
Also, during the difficult times of quarantine, I'd highly recommend buying from local bookstores or buying books from Bookshop.org. If you like audiobooks, you can try Libro.fm.
