- Painting a Replacement Aftermarket side mirror on my 2007 Honda Ridgeline. For much less than an OEM original part, you can often find replica side mirrors in the aftermarket. They usually come unpainted, but you can paint it to Color-match your vehicle by following the steps in this video!

yes, that is how I try to make my videos - step by step and using plain language.
You can do this - focus on the prep and masking and have a clean place to spray then leave it 24-48 hours before handling it. The adhesion promoter is somewhat optional but use it if you can find it.
You did such a great job breaking it down. I’m trying to put back my driver side mirror to my Camaro but I’m nervous with the painting part because it’s Riverside Blue Metallic. This video was very helpful, now I just have to start with sanding lol

Damn, that looks good, and you made it seem pretty easy.. I have to try this with my 2008 g35x
do it - just take your time in a clean environment and let it dry for a couple days. Paint shop can mix in some clear into the paint so it's a 1-step job instead of messing with clearcoat on top. Good enough for an older car.

@@hughmorris2008 honestly nobody will know the difference. Go to a paint shop and get the right paint code made in a spray can with some clearcoat mixed into the paint.
I know this video is 3 yrs ago lol but i wanna know if you had to take off the door panel or just remove cover from the mirror? Thank you
Just pull off the small inside trim cover and 3 bolts.
And hang it up higher so you can get around it to control paint application better.
It looks amazing! What grid did you use to sand the side mirror down? Also, did you regular sand paper?
Wet sandpaper 1000 grit. It’s a new unpainted mirror
You could have taken apart the old mirror to figure out the assembly!
Not so easy and not worth it. These replacements are $60 and work perfectly

Take the paint code to a body supply shop. Or, order paint online there are many options

Your life would have been much easier if you had taken the plug off the wires and pulled the trim piece off of the mirror completely. Just make sure you have written down the wiring configuration so you can put it back together easily.
