He also said recently that to be so successful and wealthy so young is a burden. He has often said about giving back to society, to Army. That i think is his primary motive and driver now as an artist.
My first BTS Concert was The Wings Tour here in the states and I got to see Jimin perform this live and my jaw was on the floor the whole time. Not to mention how beautiful he is in person too! You should react to all there solo live performances from the tour.😊💜

Right after this performance Jimin faintedat , because he was in a one day meal diet. He was probably not feeling well at one point towards the end of the performance but, he gave 100% of himself. Jimin's live performance of "LIE" was the FIRST video I ever saw of BTS. I was recovering from COVID & TH-cam pushed "LIE" to my feed bec I LOVE watching dance videos. Watching the video I HAD TO KNOW who this guy was.....and ......down the BTS rabbit hole I went. Jimin is my bias, but I cannot express how much I love all of the members. Their talent slays me every time! Whenever I am feeling gloomy, I throw on TH-cam and binge watch BTS videos... MV's, reaction videos, RUN BTS....everything! There are times though, when I binge watch videos on the individual members. Their music and talent brought me to them......their humanitarianism, integrity and gentle, kindheartedness makes me STAN them! I often wonder, how can anyone hate them. They're perfect human beings that everyone should be emulating. (please do not get me wrong, I know that they aren't actually perfect, bec they are human after all..) I love that Jimin wrote this song about his struggles; I'm glad he learned to love himself. The BU is truly what made me ARMY... I accidentally fell into it without knowing what was going on, but was instantly hooked once I saw I Need U, it was so powerful... so i would say do the BU however you want, but if i were to recommend how to truly appreciate it, start with I Need U, Butterfly, Run MVs in that order to start with... and try and hold off from explanation videos until you've consumed the pieces of the puzzle, if you can, because it'll make that "ah ha!!" that much more explosive. ...Wings is truly a beautiful artistic album plus the videos, promo, VCRs, concerts, everything... and Lie is my favorite jimin song, he did such a majestic job with it.

Lie is actually about Jimin lying to himself about himself. He, at that time dealt with a lot self doubt and thinking he wasn’t good enough, so that was essentially the lie. The second reaction clip, Jimin was dancing w/ a member from another group.
When I listen or watch Jimin singing/performing Lie it’s my favorite of his songs. Then I listen to Serendipity and then thats my favorite. Then I listen/watch Filter then that’s my favorite. This over & over. Each different, each my favorite Jimin solo song. In another performance he and JHope are dancing side by side and he dances with the blind fold on. There are several performances, not solos, where he just sings. Film Out Your Eyes Tell. Their cover of Fix You, Truth Untold (only vocal line.) Waiting for a reaction to Filter & all the rest. They have a treasure chest full.
It’s an amazing song with great lyrics and an arrangement to die for. Add the choreo and despite how hard it is for Jimin to believe he’s more than good enough his performance is incredible. The clip where he’s dancing with SHINee’s, Taemin showcases how good they both are. They are good friends and are part of The Padding Squad. I think Jimin is younger than the others in that group which has members from several other groups.
I think one factor why BTS became successful is because each member supported each other. They are not like other groups who like to out shine their other members. These guys pull each other up. Help each other to bring out the best in them. Their relationship is really one of a kind, so admirable. BTW, I hope you react to BAD DECISIONS by Benny Blanco, Snoop Dog and BTS. This is one of my favorite songs of the Wings era solos. You are right that I haven’t seen any other band not just promote but story telling like they do. The BU spans many years, albums, songs, MVs, the short story, webcomic, video game… it’s as ambitious an art “project” as you can get and to me only the MCU with Marvel is similar. But curating a fandom that like not “pop” ie easily digestible music that doesn’t have deep meaning but instead these deep lyrics and unique songs (but still mostly pop). The Spanish style guitar and strings but those pop like high notes he hits just makes this musically so interesting. Live he’s just always phenomenal because man was built to perform. Also they watch and rewatch their stuff a lot more than any other group I’ve seen, so they can improve so they constantly are giving feedback to each other, so it’s not like rewatching with just anyone. And nobody is as hyped up and as obsessed with BTS as BTS is. They love to watch each other although JHope gets “dance teacher” face when he does.
Now who's gonna tell him that whenever Jimin just stand and sing, his voice goes higher than what we expect? Jimin's voice on Crystal Snow, Zero O'Clock, 2!3!, Film Out, Magic Shop, The Truth Untold, and so many other BTS songs live inside my mind rent free. For a lot of ARMY, they would say Serendipity or Filter is their favorite Jimin solo. For Me, it has always been "Lie." For so many reasons. Main one, it's not the sugary pop that he is amazing at doing. But this one show how raw and vulnerable he can be. From the moment it starts u can feel the pain. The lryics are some of the best I've heard in a long time. Now keep in mind back when they first started all of them used to het grief from fans for one reason or another. They were just trying to build their fan base and their were a lot of people that like to terrorize them. With Jimin, for so unexplained reason they used to call him fat. And actually started calling him "Mochi." And at first he thought it was cute and liked it, but after a while, with antis (hateful, hurtful non fans of the group) the continuously called him fat and used "Mochi" in a derogatory manner. BTW they called him fat because of his cheeks, and nothing else. He was normal size for his height and weight. But that didn't stop them, nor did it stop him. He started having problem with not just self esteem. But he used what they said to egg himself on to do what he thought was the right thing to do, "The Lie" was to himself, about himself. He started to believe he needed to "lose" weight. And he got to the point where he would go roughly about 10 days without eating and than eat a full meal to get him through the next 10 days. All he would do is drink water. And he lost weight. He lost a lot of weight. To the point that he was making new holes in his belts because they were to big. You can really see it in the "War of Hormone" era. And even the guys started to notice. They all rallied around him, but he didn't stop. The only thing that stopped him was that another member started doing the exact same thing he was doing. And that is when he got a chance to actually see what he was doing to himself. You see the other member was JK. And Jimin was scared, he didn't want JK to harm himself by not eating. So with the help of the other members, he got back on track. Started not only eating, but eating better, better food, and more of it. His singing got better, he got energy back, and his dancing was back to what it was. Now you have to also remember that dancing is what Jimin is trained in...all through high school, he went to a preforming arts school, and dancing is in his blood and I truly believe it is in his DNA. That's why he dances more on stage. You should check out his preformance for "Filter," it's one of his best routines. I apologize for such a long post...I hope it helps out a little.
Your philosophy of honesty is so rare these days. We are all human and flawed but we can all try to make things better by considering the impact that lies have on others. Jimin s voice so beautiful. I’m sure it’s a trade off because he’s such a talented dancer people want to see that. Thankfully there are some beautiful vocal performances from him without choreography like “Film out” (honestly they all sound gorgeous in that).👌
Lie is my favorite solo track they've ever done because of how much I relate to the message as someone who struggles with negative cycles of thoughts at times. He said that emotionally it is a very draining and heavy song to perform. He prefers to perform Serendipity. But Lie is SO haunting. I am so happy that he has made so much progress with his self esteem and that he's happy in who he now is. I loved when he said after being asked what he'd say to his younger self, he answered "hurry up" to catch up with who he now is. His happiness is so beautiful.

The guy Jimin was dancing with in the one clip with the other members watching on the monitor was Taemin from the band SHINee. SHINee debuted 4 or 5 years before BTS, and at one point was the biggest band in Kpop. SHINee’s lead vocalist committed suicide in 2017 due in large part to internet trolling which some people think was referenced by the rap line during their song Ugh, and was definitely referenced in the song Eight, which Suga collaborated on with the singer IU. All 7 members of BTS attended his funeral.

The BU is difficult to not talk about but explain the circles they are the art of the Wings Album. Each member has a certain circle that explains that members position in the BU then they join them together and come up with 4 complete circles. It was very cool. Yes they get creative control over how they do "Lie" live, Jin did "Awake" at the same concert and was happy when they told him that they spent more on his props (it made him feel good, but told them not to tell the rest.) On the dance with Taemin he actually fainted at the end of it because he was working so hard and dieting at the same time. You are right about his singing, I think the concert crew know that he loves to dance all out so they make the backing vocals alot stronger for him so he can rely on them and go all out on his dance. In concert they do a few songs that they stand their and sing "House of Cards", "the Truth Untold" and recently they have done "Stay Gold" and "Your Eyes Tell" live. All these are songs they stand and sing and Jimin's voice comes out like an angel.

I think that’s how he used to feel during that time. Now he is in much better place mentally so he doesn’t really relate to this song anymore, thankfully. Though it’s an incredible song, I’m happy he no longer feels this way.

@@JohnReavesLive thank ypu. If you watch BTS Festa 2021 there Jimin says he is very happy and content now. He achieved all he set out to achieve. He stopped identifying with the song long time ago. . He also said recently that to be so successful and wealthy so young is a burden. He has often said about giving back to society, to Army. That i think is his primary motive and driver now as an artist.
My first BTS Concert was The Wings Tour here in the states and I got to see Jimin perform this live and my jaw was on the floor the whole time. Not to mention how beautiful he is in person too! You should react to all there solo live performances from the tour.😊💜

Right after this performance Jimin faintedat , because he was in a one day meal diet. He was probably not feeling well at one point towards the end of the performance but, he gave 100% of himself. Jimin's live performance of "LIE" was the FIRST video I ever saw of BTS. I was recovering from COVID & TH-cam pushed "LIE" to my feed bec I LOVE watching dance videos. Watching the video I HAD TO KNOW who this guy was.....and ......down the BTS rabbit hole I went. Jimin is my bias, but I cannot express how much I love all of the members. Their talent slays me every time! Whenever I am feeling gloomy, I throw on TH-cam and binge watch BTS videos... MV's, reaction videos, RUN BTS....everything! There are times though, when I binge watch videos on the individual members. Their music and talent brought me to them......their humanitarianism, integrity and gentle, kindheartedness makes me STAN them! I often wonder, how can anyone hate them. They're perfect human beings that everyone should be emulating. (please do not get me wrong, I know that they aren't actually perfect, bec they are human after all..) I love that Jimin wrote this song about his struggles; I'm glad he learned to love himself. He is so humble, (well, they all are), and while he is more confident, I don't know if he truly knows how great he is. Loved your video.
The BU is truly what made me ARMY... I accidentally fell into it without knowing what was going on, but was instantly hooked once I saw I Need U, it was so powerful... so i would say do the BU however you want, but if i were to recommend how to truly appreciate it, start with I Need U, Butterfly, Run MVs in that order to start with... and try and hold off from explanation videos until you've consumed the pieces of the puzzle, if you can, because it'll make that "ah ha!!" that much more explosive.
...Wings is truly a beautiful artistic album plus the videos, promo, VCRs, concerts, everything... and Lie is my favorite jimin song, he did such a majestic job with it.

Lie is actually about Jimin lying to himself about himself. He, at that time dealt with a lot self doubt and thinking he wasn’t good enough, so that was essentially the lie. The second reaction clip, Jimin was dancing w/ a member from another group.
When I listen or watch Jimin singing/performing Lie it’s my favorite of his songs. Then I listen to Serendipity and then thats my favorite. Then I listen/watch Filter then that’s my favorite. This over & over. Each different, each my favorite Jimin solo song. In another performance he and JHope are dancing side by side and he dances with the blind fold on.

It’s an amazing song with great lyrics and an arrangement to die for. Add the choreo and despite how hard it is for Jimin to believe he’s more than good enough his performance is incredible. The clip where he’s dancing with SHINee’s, Taemin showcases how good they both are. They are good friends and are part of The Padding Squad. I think Jimin is younger than the others in that group which has members from several other groups.

I think one factor why BTS became successful is because each member supported each other. They are not like other groups who like to out shine their other members. These guys pull each other up. Help each other to bring out the best in them. Their relationship is really one of a kind, so admirable.

This is one of my favorite songs of the Wings era solos. You are right that I haven’t seen any other band not just promote but story telling like they do. The BU spans many years, albums, songs, MVs, the short story, webcomic, video game… it’s as ambitious an art “project” as you can get and to me only the MCU with Marvel is similar. But curating a fandom that like not “pop” ie easily digestible music that doesn’t have deep meaning but instead these deep lyrics and unique songs (but still mostly pop). The Spanish style guitar and strings but those pop like high notes he hits just makes this musically so interesting. Live he’s just always phenomenal because man was built to perform. Also they watch and rewatch their stuff a lot more than any other group I’ve seen, so they can improve so they constantly are giving feedback to each other, so it’s not like rewatching with just anyone. And nobody is as hyped up and as obsessed with BTS as BTS is. They love to watch each other although JHope gets “dance teacher” face when he does.
Now who's gonna tell him that whenever Jimin just stand and sing, his voice goes higher than what we expect? Jimin's voice on Crystal Snow, Zero O'Clock, 2!3!, Film Out, Magic Shop, The Truth Untold, and so many other BTS songs live inside my mind rent free. And that he used to sing with his raspy vocals on We Are Bulletproof and No More Dream?

HI John! This one of my favorite songs by Jimin. He was involved in the writing of the song. I re-watched an older VLive by RM where he spoke about the song and he said that he as surprised by how much Jimin had done by him self. I really enjoy your reactions! Please keep them coming!

For a lot of ARMY, they would say Serendipity or Filter is their favorite Jimin solo. For Me, it has always been "Lie." For so many reasons. Main one, it's not the sugary pop that he is amazing at doing. But this one show how raw and vulnerable he can be. From the moment it starts u can feel the pain. The lryics are some of the best I've heard in a long time. Now keep in mind back when they first started all of them used to het grief from fans for one reason or another. They were just trying to build their fan base and their were a lot of people that like to terrorize them. With Jimin, for so unexplained reason they used to call him fat. And actually started calling him "Mochi." And at first he thought it was cute and liked it, but after a while, with antis (hateful, hurtful non fans of the group) the continuously called him fat and used "Mochi" in a derogatory manner. BTW they called him fat because of his cheeks, and nothing else. He was normal size for his height and weight. But that didn't stop them, nor did it stop him. He started having problem with not just self esteem. But he used what they said to egg himself on to do what he thought was the right thing to do, "The Lie" was to himself, about himself. He started to believe he needed to "lose" weight. And he got to the point where he would go roughly about 10 days without eating and than eat a full meal to get him through the next 10 days. All he would do is drink water. And he lost weight. He lost a lot of weight. To the point that he was making new holes in his belts because they were to big. You can really see it in the "War of Hormone" era. And even the guys started to notice. They all rallied around him, but he didn't stop. The only thing that stopped him was that another member started doing the exact same thing he was doing. And that is when he got a chance to actually see what he was doing to himself. You see the other member was JK. And Jimin was scared, he didn't want JK to harm himself by not eating. So with the help of the other members, he got back on track. Started not only eating, but eating better, better food, and more of it. His singing got better, he got energy back, and his dancing was back to what it was.
Now you have to also remember that dancing is what Jimin is trained in...all through high school, he went to a preforming arts school, and dancing is in his blood and I truly believe it is in his DNA. That's why he dances more on stage. You should check out his preformance for "Filter," it's one of his best routines.

Jimin s voice so beautiful. I’m sure it’s a trade off because he’s such a talented dancer people want to see that. Thankfully there are some beautiful vocal performances from him without choreography like “Film out” (honestly they all sound gorgeous in that).👌
Lie is my favorite solo track they've ever done because of how much I relate to the message as someone who struggles with negative cycles of thoughts at times. He said that emotionally it is a very draining and heavy song to perform. He prefers to perform Serendipity. But Lie is SO haunting. I am so happy that he has made so much progress with his self esteem and that he's happy in who he now is. I loved when he said after being asked what he'd say to his younger self, he answered "hurry up" to catch up with who he now is. His happiness is so beautiful.

The guy Jimin was dancing with in the one clip with the other members watching on the monitor was Taemin from the band SHINee. SHINee debuted 4 or 5 years before BTS, and at one point was the biggest band in Kpop. SHINee’s lead vocalist committed suicide in 2017 due in large part to internet trolling which some people think was referenced by the rap line during their song Ugh, and was definitely referenced in the song Eight, which Suga collaborated on with the singer IU. All 7 members of BTS attended his funeral.

Well, Jimin was a dancer first before ever being a singer so I think he often prefer dancing. But you can watch the Tiny Desk Concert and he will just sing and not dance there.

The BU is difficult to not talk about but explain the circles they are the art of the Wings Album. Each member has a certain circle that explains that members position in the BU then they join them together and come up with 4 complete circles. It was very cool.
Yes they get creative control over how they do "Lie" live, Jin did "Awake" at the same concert and was happy when they told him that they spent more on his props (it made him feel good, but told them not to tell the rest.)
On the dance with Taemin he actually fainted at the end of it because he was working so hard and dieting at the same time.
You are right about his singing, I think the concert crew know that he loves to dance all out so they make the backing vocals alot stronger for him so he can rely on them and go all out on his dance.
In concert they do a few songs that they stand their and sing "House of Cards", "the Truth Untold" and recently they have done "Stay Gold" and "Your Eyes Tell" live. All these are songs they stand and sing and Jimin's voice comes out like an angel.
Do you know, I will actually wake up with their songs in my head. It feels like I have one song playing in my mind over and over, all night. Then a few nights later, it is a different song. But this happens all the time. It is quite awesome, actually!

This song has garnered Jimin critical acclaim for it's clever arrangement. The key change alignment with the lyrics...caught in a lie...is brilliant. In the live performance the choreo was challenging so the backing track takes over in some points but it is very obvious when he stops singing live. Jimin danced a duo with his fellow idol Taemin (SHINee). They have been friends a long time and are often compared to each other.

Jimin had full participation in the writing and composition of this masterpiece. Each solo in the Wings album is related to the BU, the fictional storyline witch run threw MV and albums since "I need you", specially the short films. So the lyrics of Lie fits to the fictional character played by Jimin but it's also related to Jimin himself, the struggles he faced, and we can feel the authentic emotions and pain.
The Wings album revolves around the concept of Hermann Hesse’s novel, ‘Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair’s Youth’, a coming of age piece that uses myths and references to follow the journey of a young boy to self-realisation. One of the key points of this book is the importance of accepting the “dualism”, the idea of two opposing forces (maybe good and bad or truth vs fake) that are both necessary in life. This idea is portrayed by Jimin’s solo where we see an inner fight between his two sides, his true and insecure self, and this mask that he created to face the world but is swallowing him up (as in the verse : the prey vs the snake) . It’s a complex song where metaphors, vocal and music composition details mix to vignette a cry for help. "caught in a lie" is the only line of the song in a major key (usually associated with happiness), while the rest of the song is in a minor key (usually associated with sadness, mystery, unease). So, the line "caught in a lie" is itself a lie amongst the rest of the song - the "happiness" is a lie . This song is a portrait of what struggling with your identity, insecurities and inner demons is.
RM explained that Jimin used to blame himself for all the failures and shortcomings, having thoughts like “I’m not good enough, I can’t do this” and that he wrote the song reflecting that mentality. Knowing this reflective way of working to deliver an honest history is why this song is so important for so many ARMY. Jimin's journey to self love is so inspiring for a lot of us. The choreography and interpretation is incredible too .Jimin seems to 'punch the beat'. Lie has been popular all through the years, being the most streamed solo song from the WINGS album. Now Lie by Jimin being refered to as a rite of passage for rookie idols, they cover LIE as a show of their vocal and dance capabilities, as the song is considered to be highly technical in both aspects.
