I completely agree with you on the English album. Their All English songs are great, but I LOVE their Korean and Japanese songs and highly prefer them to the English. I feel like Korean is a more melodic and beautiful spoken language (and Japanese too, but I don’t know it as well). If they made nothing but Korean songs from here on, I’d listen to them for the rest of my days! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 (I do have to admit that if it weren’t for Butter (all English song), I probably never would have found BTS.) - 60yo English speaking ARMY from Oregon, but studying Korean 😁
All of the Japanese songs are really beautiful. Of course, they all sound so amazing but there is something about Jin's voice when he sings in Japanese that just really works so well.. almost like his voice is made for it.
"your eyes tell" is another japanese ballad with all 7 of them. it's my personal favourite and written and/or produced by jungkook. the live performance really showcases their vocal talent as well so i HIGHLY recommend it :)
Some have said that "Film Out" can theoretically be part of the BU/BTU (Bangtan Universe), for even though the visuals in the MV (with sci-fi & fantasy aspects) are attributed to the "Signal" movie, as the movie also has a time travel premise in it, this song could also be adapted to the BU, for as you have seen, Jin seems to be a central character again just as he was in past BU-related MV's. And as you are already aware, BTS are one of those bands out there that can sing in at least 4 languages (Korean, Japanese, English, Chinese/Mandarin), although you can also add some Spanish & whatever else I missed.
BTS is soooo good in their Japanese songs! 💜 “Your Eyes Tell” is really good in showing their vocals as well. Just standing. Side note: John you are awesome. 🫰🏼
I'm a little late to your party but love watching your reaction vids so far because you share thoughts on the technical aspect of BTS performance/music which is rare in the BTS YT-reactor community. It's easy to listen to BTS and get used to them doing great in what they do that some people overlook the "how" because I am always amazed by the way they deliver their vocals, raps, lyrics, melody -- the whole aspect of their music. So thank you and I'll continue binge watching your vids!
Wow John!! I knew Jin and JK shines a lot more with their Japanese songs but I didn't think it's because of their pronunciations! Now that you mentioned it, it might have really added to the appeal. Did anyone tell you you're a genius in analyzing and breaking down vocals - both in studios and live performances. Thank you for this John!! 💜
I love your analysis of how they shine in their native language and Japanese. I totally agree with you that their flavour gets lost in their English songs and their voices don’t get to shine as brightly. That is why I genuinely love their non English songs better (even though I do enjoy their Eng songs) and just love listening to how their beautiful voices are able to shine.
Jin is Japanese songs king!! He sounds soo good everytime Jimin too! Their Japanese songs are just beautiful vocals, orchestration, melodic masterpieces and emotional wreck 🥲
Stay Gold (one of my fav song ever), Your eyes tell, Crystal Snow, Lights siimilar standing performances, outstanding vocals! Let go (😭😭) a bit more choreo but still has that emotional thing they gace across their japanese works! I usually show their Japanese stuff to people who think BTS are average singers.. like no
Now that we know bcs of jin’s vlive where he mentioned that BE was the album after which jin was gonna enlist in the military….. even in this song jin is at the other side of the room not with the 6 members …. And at the end he disappeared…So this song is all about their feelings jin going to military and all their feelings about how they all r feeling about all these changes which were gonna take place…. 🥺 I loved this song the moment i heard it but now I love it more and more💜
Glad I found your channel. I've been ARMY for only 2 years but I loved this song the first time I heard it. It's one of my favorites and I think it has a very comforting vibe to it.
I think people don’t even realize how impressive Jimin’s mix is here because it sounds so effortless. That is a really high not for a man. Even at the end when he sings the octave above it’s not some weak head voice or falsetto, it’s such a strong and clear mix.
This song is an OST for a Japanese movie, Signal. The movie is based on a series by the same name which, in turn, is a remake of the Korean series of the same name. I haven't watched the Japanese version of the series or the movie, but I have watched the Korean series and I highly recommend it. Especially if you're into police procedurals with a slight bit of fantasy on the side. The MV for this song has a ton of references to the plot of both the movie and the series. It also shares some themes with the BU and a number of people think the song is related to the BU, but it's really not. I don't know how far you've gotten into the BU and I don't want to spoil it for you, so I won't go into that. Signal is about a young police profiler who finds a hand-held radio that somehow connects him to a police officer a number of years in the past. The profiler has access to the records of the cases that the police officer worked on and is able to inform the man in the past about what happened, so that he can change things. Sometimes that has good outcomes and sometimes it has bad ones. Both men are still moving through time as normal, so the cop in the past gets exactly one chance to make things better. If he fails, everyone, past and present, have to live with the results. The profiler is part of an investigative team lead by a female police officer. She was a rookie, working under the cop in the past when some of this goes on. The cop in the past disappears and she has spent years trying to find out what happened to him. I think JK is supposed to be the cop in the past while Jin is the profiler in the present. I also think Taehyung is playing the part of the female officer. Jin looks through a window which shows all of the members, including himself, and he has an hourglass that is mostly full. JK is never on the other side of the window and he has an hourglass as well, but the sand is almost out in that one. Taehyung is alone, but he also looks through the window at the past. There are a number of other clues, but I'd have to get into more detail about both the series and the BU to highlight the differences and I'd rather not give major spoilers for either one. It's a great series and a beautiful song, as well as a very meaningful video in the context of the movie or series. The Korean version of the series is on Netflix, if you're interested in watching it.
Thanks for the explanation! I had heard some ARMY say it was based on BU which I’ve never gotten into. But the movie sounds so interesting. I hope I can find on Netflix K-dramas. BTW, my favorite one is “The Magic of Music.” How about you? Again thanks for information. 💜
@@sandyaz5595 You're welcome! I like mysteries, police procedurals and scifi/fantasy shows, so Signal is actually one of my favorites. Another one is Bring It On, Ghost! It's about a man who can see and physically interact with ghosts. He works as an exorcist and ends up meeting a female ghost who becomes his partner. They solve the mysteries of some of the spirits they encounter, including figuring out what happened to the female ghost. It's fun, interesting, and a bit scary at times. I was disappointed when it ended. There's also a Japanese series called Black that I really enjoyed. That one is a bit complicated. It involves murder mysteries, searching for a spirit hiding in a human body, and Death spirits. It has a lot of humor in it, too.
Yey! Been waiting for this. I've suggested this long time ago. You can also check YOUR EYES TELL, LET GO and CRYSTAL SNOW watch out for jins triple high notes, hope youll get the video where he was focused when he did that.. 💜💜💜
I want to start by saying that I would LOVE if you did a detailed reaction that has a detailed breakdown particularly regarding their techniques. Not that it’s needed for all videos but occasionally it would be a fun treat. One of my favorite things about this song is the build up and explosion of emotion and powerful vocals. It gives me goosebumps every time. And my last comment is that I enjoy seeing how much they ad lib for each other. JK and Jimin seem to do the most across all of their music. Thanks again for another great and sincere reaction. Toodles!!!
The best song EVER!! I agree with you about the reason not to create a total English album. The biggest reason tho - the poeticism, the illteration , the wordplay, of the Korean+English is so deep, wide, and profound. that all gets lost in English
YESSSSSS john bummmm🤣its not that a dont apreciate the others kpop groups. They are talented and they deserve your atention. For me BTS its just another level. They moove me with there sincerity andd genuinety. I can watch there videos a milion times and never get over it.thank you for this . borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
i don't know how I missed you reacting to my favorite song. It was for a movie that finishes a Japanese tv show called Signal. a cold case detective finds an old radio and communicates with a detective in the past, who mysteriously disappeared in the past. The current CO was a rookie with the old detective. Things get changed in the past because of it. The show was a remake of the Korean show, which never had resolution due to the pandemic. It is really good.
Now John you NEED to watch/listen to their cover of "Fix you". It's in a similar setup where they're just sitting and singing and their harmonies and voices in general sound so magical. Both vocal line and rap line crashed it, it's a must.
I agree with you. I personally love their Korean and Japanese songs, the English songs are great…but I specifically love the Korean language. Film Out was written by Jungkook and was apparently a collab with a Japanese artist, it was selected as the theme song for the Japanese movie The Signal (that, I believe was based on a Korean film or Drama ... ) I remember just being absolutely blown away by this song, it builds in the most beautiful way~ Loved the vid, always ~ 😁💜
Glad to see you liked this live performance so much!! When I was getting into bts, this is one of the first live performances I watched and it made me realise damn these guys can REALLY sing. It blew me away. I have a huge soft spot for this video, it really showcases their talents so well.
I can't tell you how many times I've watched this specific performance; I love this song! Every song shows their talent, but the way the vocal line just effortlessly move from their chest voice to their head voice...the way they so smoothly move through their falsettos. They are amazing! We all know they've worked really hard to master their voices and techniques, but again, they make look so easy.💜
JK writes such beautiful lyrics. I know you’ve got your schedule for the week, but when you get the chance I would love for you to react to an amazing video of JK and all that he does for BTS as the main vocalist, you noticed it here in this song, how he popped up on this many times, harmonizing and adlibs the video is Jungkook the main vocalist of BTS Ida S channel I think it will impress you They have done several performances since the pandemic where they have been just sitting and singing, Starting will their self produced album “BE” all the songs on this album are incredible Thank you John for another great reaction video looking forward to this weeks schedule especially God’s Menu Borahae 💜 Oops big apology John, I am seeing just now that you already reacted to the video I told you about, so came to say that to you, now I am going back to watch your reaction to it. Thanks for this one! Before I knew of this song, watched the MV, lyrics, etc., I heard a snippet of it on some other video & instantly my breath caught in my throat at the melody alone. Then when you add in the lyrics, the beauty of their voices, & the sincerity they sing with, it is astoundingly stunning to me. I have since listened to it countless times & still when it comes up on my random-play BTS playlist, it's like time stops. All of them are so amazing at their parts, but for some reason, Suga always makes me want to cry on this one. How blessed we are to have these young men & their music. 💜
Ahh. Thank you for sharing so beautifully your story of listening to this song. I agree with all of the previous comments about all the members shining here, but I , too , felt particularly moved by Suga's part. I find myself waiting for it, and never being disappointed, always feeling like I'm receiving a precious auditory gift.

Literally one of my fav songs 😊I agree with you when explaining the sound when singing in English compared to Korean , there is a difference ( all good but different)
Fim out, Your Eyes tell and Crystal Snow are my fave Japanese tracks of BTS. Film out is as marvelous as the other two but if I am totally honest, I am not a big fan of what they did with the track in post production. Jungkook and V sound great, with fairly natural and organic sounding intact vocals, but the bridge part with Jimin and Jin in it, that is supposed to be a climax of the whole song got such heavy loads of auto tune and vocal distortion effects it sounds almost unpleasantly shrill at places which is pity because Jin and Jimin could shine equally great even without the unnecessary processing of their vocals. It boggles me why they decided to do that .... it is only my opinion of course, other people may enjoy the piercing screech affect, a personal preference is always personal, lol. Jin has proven once again that Japanese language truly loves his voice, he sounds always super duper great in Japanese!
Jonh, you REALLY have to see Born Singer, the live performance they made recently in the midle of the desert, live band, just their vocals crushing, it´s just amazing. And I think the lyrics is going to make you emotional. ❤❤

(I do have to admit that if it weren’t for Butter (all English song), I probably never would have found BTS.)
- 60yo English speaking ARMY from Oregon, but studying Korean 😁
The "3J's of the vocal line" killed this song during the live perf - I have to say! My mind was blown away too with you John 😩
of my favorite songs, I love the harmony of their voices how they complement each other , los amo mis niños
All of the Japanese songs are really beautiful. Of course, they all sound so amazing but there is something about Jin's voice when he sings in Japanese that just really works so well.. almost like his voice is made for it.
You must see Suga sing. He is amazing look for Seewsaw is solo dong
I remember first hearing Jimin's voice and being like 'Who tf is that?!' Then got pulled into BTS. Thanks Jimin LMAO
Let go also shows off Jins voice beautifully
LOL right!?!?!?!
this song is just perfect. pure emotion.
Exactly what I am thinking/feeling!
💜 for real thank you for being here!
I Love this Song so much is so beautiful ❤❤❤JUNGKOOK VOICE IS SO PERFCT 👑💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I love their sincerity, lyricism, and concepts - so I like their Korean music best. It's the language they can write from the heart in.
"Lights" is another of their Japanese songs that is often overlooked. It is absolutely beautiful and I love it.
I think people don’t even realize how impressive Jimin’s mix is here because it sounds so effortless. That is a really high not for a man. Even at the end when he sings the octave above it’s not some weak head voice or falsetto, it’s such a strong and clear mix.
Who else can sing about loss so beautifully like this?🥹
This song is an OST for a Japanese movie, Signal.
One of my fav BTS Japanese song! it always brings me to tear when I hear this song and think about my love one who passed away!
This is my favorite! It is a master class in vocal technique.
Yey! Been waiting for this. I've suggested this long time ago. You can also check YOUR EYES TELL, LET GO and CRYSTAL SNOW watch out for jins triple high notes, hope youll get the video where he was focused when he did that.. 💜💜💜
one of my all time favorites
Good song good voice their have voice completed each other..
Everyone sounds amazing! One of my favorite song! But Jin is at another level, he ate this song and all Japanese songs! 💯🥇💗💗💗
So good. That live..
ahhh I love it!!!!
I love this song so much. Thank you for your reaction. Love from France 💖
Toodles!!!
JIN ITS SOMETIMES CALLED THE KIN OF JAPANESE SONGS! He really stands out in all japanese songs
Cuando decís "ésta es mi canción favorita", vienen otra vez ellos con otra y ya no sabes cuál elegir, bueno, creo que terminamos amando a todas!
my favorite song
i don't know how I missed you reacting to my favorite song.
The music video makes sense more when you know the BTS Universe. There's story that runs throughout their mvs.
Man you react all the videos on one song . I respect that . Your devotion on what you do deserve respect. Borahae 💜
I love the song and BTS live Amazing 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Now John you NEED to watch/listen to their cover of "Fix you". It's in a similar setup where they're just sitting and singing and their harmonies and voices in general sound so magical. Both vocal line and rap line crashed it, it's a must.
I agree with you. I personally love their Korean and Japanese songs, the English songs are great…but I specifically love the Korean language.
Film Out was written by Jungkook and was apparently a collab with a Japanese artist, it was selected as the theme song for the Japanese movie The Signal (that, I believe was based on a Korean film or Drama ... ) I remember just being absolutely blown away by this song, it builds in the most beautiful way~
Loved the vid, always ~ 😁💜
I know you’ve got your schedule for the week, but when you get the chance I would love for you to react to an amazing video of JK and all that he does for BTS as the main vocalist, you noticed it here in this song, how he popped up on this many times, harmonizing and adlibs the video is Jungkook the main vocalist of BTS Ida S channel I think it will impress you
They have done several performances since the pandemic where they have been just sitting and singing, Starting will their self produced album “BE” all the songs on this album are incredible
Thank you John for another great reaction video looking forward to this weeks schedule especially God’s Menu
Borahae 💜
Oops big apology John, I am seeing just now that you already reacted to the video I told you about, so came to say that to you, now I am going back to watch your reaction to it. Can’t wait. Here I thought I had seen all the TH-cam reactions, for some reason I didn’t see a few of them, so will be sitting here watching them all in a row starting when you did reaction for his birthday week. Again sorry I try to check before speaking, now I feel like an idiot. Borahae 💜
Thank you I know nothing technical about singing it’s so nice to hear a review by someone who does
Thanks for this one!
@@andriaciel5468 Exactly! Each of them are a bottomless well of talent & dedication, & never cease to amaze me!
Ok so I love love love this song. It really deserves so much more acclaim than it got. It is a phenomenal vocal masterpiece and I can listen to it over and over again. Absolutely beautiful! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜+💜
I love this song. I also love their vocals here.
Same!!! its sooo good!
If you like Film Out you might want to check out" Your Eyes tell", One of their Japanese song as beautiful as Film Out! It is a OST for a Japanese Movie and it is a tearjerker
This one if my favourites. Also Let Go and Crystal Snow does a great job of showing of their vocals and emotional side.
This is definitely the best vocal performance of theirs ever. I don't say that lightly. This song is absolutely beautiful!
Jimin ✨✨
One of my favs, i really love this song
Jonh, you REALLY have to see Born Singer, the live performance they made recently in the midle of the desert, live band, just their vocals crushing, it´s just amazing. And I think the lyrics is going to make you emotional. ❤❤
this video is my #1 all time favorite . #1
I love how universally people agrees on how amazing Jin is on japanese songs
whenever this song comes on shuffle i'm belting out the lyrics as if japanese was my first language 😹😹
Jimin part 🔥
