Wow...I'm so happy to have watched this right now. I have to say, I have been beyond pleased with it, and after the latest software update, it's better than ever, plus to also see that it has gotten this good of a review from you just makes me that much more satisfied with my purchase. ^^
@@brucesmith1754 from what I've been able to see is that the contrast has been improved and the Dolby Vision has greatly improved. When my lenticular screen arrives tomorrow I'm sure I will be blown away. (100 inch rhone screen for $300 during prime day. I can now save for a fresnel screen).
Update for anyone interested. The Rhone screen made a huge difference as expected and at the price my only other option would be the LTV-2500 (lag, dolby vision and 3d requirements). The NexiGo isn't as crisp which really only is noticeable when gaming, but the black floor is great across all applications. The big issue that I wish I would have known about prior is that Dolby Vision on the Nexigo is capped at 4k/60 and the input lag from the xbox series x with Dolby Vision for gaming turned on is horrible. I don't have any testing equipment, but it is bad enough that I wouldn't play any type of game on it except maybe a turn-based game. 4K120 gaming is great, but no Dolby Vision so you are limited to HDR10.

As usual, what a fantastic, unparalleled comparison effort, much appreciated! Fantastic video! Thanks so much for the detailed comps. If I'm planning on going with a 150in screen, does that change the ratings or consideration? In other words, is there a noticable drop in quality in one projector more than another when scaling up to that size image. I've specifically been looking at the PX3 Pro and AWOL 3500 Pro.

The most important thing that prevents me from buying Nexigo Aurora Pro is the blurry corners, I think it could be much better, at least very important when playing games, where it is necessary to read information very frequently. The results on the rest of areas still being amazing. I was specting to buy th Hisense PX3-Pro here in Spain.
I agree with you 100%, it is the only downfall of the Nexigo. PX3-Pro is phenomenal and I think the only issue that some may have with it is laser speckle.
Thank you so much for doing this comparison. I have been waiting for an unbiased review of all of these projectors. I did purchase the Hisense PX3-Pro and LOVE IT!!! If you have any specific settings on this projector, please share them in a new video or in the comments. Keep up the great work. I can't imagine how long it took to assemble this review. Thanks again.,
@TheHookUp Thank you for the amazing review! Choosing between Aurora Pro and PX3. Was your Aurora calibrated? Because with all its benefits it looks so greenish in all modes - any way/mode to reduce that green? The PX3 on the other hand looks s bit washed out - any way to add more colors and vividness? If nothing can be changed I guess makes no sense to overpay $500+ for PX3 due to non-vivid color palette, why you still made it a winner? Just curious. Thank you!
I agree the px3 pro looks like crap at th-cam.com/video/M-vQKcsd03A/w-d-xo.html with hardly any of the so called wide colour it is supposed to have, he only corrects for white balance so basically these side by sides are not what people will have when they set them to their preference which is disappointing as that would really change the outcome of the tests
@@TheHookUp Who said anything about calibration? people don't just adjust the white balance they also adjust the colours so there is no green or red cast just like with a tv otherwise they look like crap with skin tones way off plus some oversaturated colours as well hence in your video some projectors side by side showing a blue hue or a purple hue that is not normal for the consumer to put up with which is why they adjust settings..
We've had this conversation before. I'm not going to adjust them "to my eye" and then tell people that's what they can expect. That just adds a ton of human error to the equation.
Remember picture quailty is his opinion. Also brightness does NOT matter unless you want to use this during the day, come night time you'll turn it right down.
I love the Hisense PX3 Pro as well but want a 120" screen. I saw your review of screens from a year ago and your top pick only comes in 100" What screen would you pair with the Hisense?

These videos are the BEST. For my blacked out theater, I bought a Nexigo Aurora Pro based on the last shootout video. However I am seriously overwhelmed by all the picture settings. Can you share your recommended settings that folks should use to get the most accurate OOTB experience?
BenQ placing highest should have an Asterix, each of the ratings really should be weighed by how important each factor is to the movie experience, eg. Fan noise (which should be pretty much meaningless) vs Deepest Black contrast ratio (Should be weighted very high importance) It'd be great if you can please weigh each rating again based on importance to movie quality closeness to theater watching experience. Looking forward to your redo on the final overall rankings! Thank you!
As usual a fantastic detailed review. Thanks again love 'em all and I confidently use your reviews to help my buy decision. Side Note - slide title at 20:08 is incorrect. Says Lag when it should be Fan Noise.
Very interesting! Thank you for this video! There are so many choices and features that it's hard to decide... One point that has not been addressed is the reliability of brands and equipment in general. Another, equally important for me is the repairability of these devices. Maybe in a future video? 🤞
You definately are the best. Are you going to do a comparison with the new Hisense C2 ultra, Jmgo N1S ultra/ultimate and Valerion VisionMaster Max/pro 2?
You gotta to get your hands on the new Valerion vision master lifestyle pj. my man... Everyone on YT says it's completely revolutionary and a quantum leap forward in projector tech. I honestly only trust you when it comes to pj reviews, so I’ll just be waiting patiently for your review of this sweet baby. Hope it’s really everything they’ve been saying!
The comparison all UST enthusiast have been waiting for. Would any of these results change with a lenticular screen? Or might they all perform similarly compared to each other?
Fantastic job with this. How do these compare to something like the C1? Just curious if the results are similar - or if one stands out (in general terms).
OLED is going to absolutely crush and destroy anything you see here. You buy projectors because you want a big screen without paying obscene money. If the size of screen you want is available in an OLED for anywhere near the price of a projector+ screen then get the OLED or even LCD. They will do much better in basically every category.
@@anathma I was talking about the Hisense C1 projector. I've been running a projector since the early 2000s - just curious how these latest UST projectors compare.
which one do you think is better for color grading? I mean which one has better color reproduction for rec 709 and p3? Numbers say PX3 but Aurora pro looks kind of better... Which one would you recommend for films (as a client monitor)? It's not meant to be used always in a 100% dark room.
Rob, As always, outstanding exhaustive reviews on these Laser TV projectors. In addition to the Aurora Pro being a top contender again this year, Nexigo is upstaging the competition by offering a Pro Laser TV/Fresnel screen bundle with a total cost less than last year's projector only cost. When should we expect your lifestyle projectors review. Looking forward to it 👍🏻
Why anyone would want some unheard of brand with "who knows if they will be around in a year to provide support", over a known brand like BENQ with superior color accuracy, is frankly beyond me. I've got the 7050i and it's been amazing for the last couple of years. Same lumens as the 5010i at 2500, same screen size at 120".
Thank you so much for the great and timely review! Something that would help me a lot would also know the throw distance and dimensions of each device. I can look them up of course but would be nice to have that information handy 😊
I seen in your screen review video you were interested in the formovie floor raising screen and they also just released the formovie premium. Have you got your hands on these ? I’d be very interested in knowing your thoughts.
Great comparison as always (but there is still some info missing, mostly about software, i.e. audio passthrough capability - it's very important in HT use). Overall - time is passing and good projectors are still light years away from the quality of TVs, while the latter are getting closer and closer in screen diagonals. We still don't have native 4K in projectors for 3-4k$, lenses are still imperfect, brightness is too low for daily use (and even if it's acceptable as in this LS650, it's at the expense of unacceptable noise). Not to mention useless HDR in projectors. I would prefer a projector, but I have to choose a TV. I hope that eventually there will be a breakthrough (i.e. local dimming), because evolution is too slow in my opinion.
@TheHookUp Thanks for this super in depth review. It has really helped me understand the value of UST projectors in general. When researching standard throw projectors vs UST, many on Reddit say to go with standard always if the room set up allows for it. At the same time, I'm also reading that USTs are just as good as standard throw. What is your opinion? Also any particular UST projector screens that pair well with the PX3 Pro? Cheers!
USTs have surpassed standard throw projectors when it comes to native contrast. They also have the huge advantage of being able to use them with UST specific ALR screens which help not only in rooms with ambient light, but also in light controlled rooms since they significantly reduce room reflections. Their limitations are: 1) No acoustically transparent UST ALR screens yet. 2) Limited to 150" screen and smaller. 3) Less corner sharpness than a standard throw.
Hi, would you reccomend PJ40(gen3) when it is about 425$? I live in poland and amazon is the only website that the projector is available but it costs a lot, i was wondering if something else is worth my time of looking than the nexigo. Love your videos
Hi Rob, I am looking at a larger screen than 100 inches, I was wondering if you could tell me what effect a larger screen would have on the characteristics of a UST projector?
Your review is clearly very accurate, well done!! However, I would suggest investing a bit more time coming up with better scoring system, as you saw, there could be massive difference between benq (9 points in dark viewing) and hisense px3 (10 points) and they would still be separated by a signle point. Same goes for other categories. This in the end makes it so that the projector with highest score isn't the clear winner :)
Thank you for making this comparison and providing us with quality content again! Question regarding your daylight testing. It looks like room is fairly dark in those tests as well. Does it only look that way because screens are so bright and camera adjusts exposure accordingly? Or is this more like testing bright scenes in dark/dimly lit room? Also I'm wondering if differences between projectors in dark room tests are as evident in real life as in this test because you're watching them side by side. Do you think they would've looked different if you were to record them individually one by one and editing the videos together? Again wondering if what camera captures corresponds to reality.
Can you please tell me about the aurzen boom 3 projector. Have you tried it, any thoughts? This will be my first so I just want to get a good starter projector but it has to be enjoyable all around as well :)
One again, thank you so much for the staggering amount of work that must have went into this uber detailed video... I've been waiting for this one! Just curious, with the insane power/brightness of the Epson ust, do you think it could legitimately be possible to use it without the added expense of purchasing an ALR screen? Or would extreme ambient light wash out even this beast of a light cannon?
Definitely get an ALR screen. The issue with getting a non-ALR screen in ambient light is that the best black level you can get is whatever the screen looks like when the projector is off, so a white or light colored screen will look terrible compared to a low gain ALR.
Great work, but for having the XGIMI AURA 2 for a month now, and having it measured and also in front of me (more or less 1.5 meters), I can guarantee you that it is inaudible at all, and far from your quotation. I measured it around 32 db max...
Great vid as always, thanks mate. Have you any thoughts on 100"+ TVs vs USTs/long throws? They're starting to get to around the same price as the projectors (sometimes less if you need to buy a screen separately), and their contrast, screen uniformity and light output would seem to put them at an advantage
Great review! But i think comparing the IMAX enhanced projector with non IMAX Enhanced projector. Like Oppenheimer IMAX shot on enhaced and non enhanced projector to get some direct comparison. Thank you!
Wow! Last year LG released the HU915QB for about $5499 and it kicked absolute butt! I expected Samsung LPU9D to be the answer to that product. Very disappointing performance from the Premiere 9. No 120hz, no 3D, horrible black floor, no Dolby Vision, high 50ms input lag, what exactly do they think they're doing?
Can you compare the Valerion visionmaster with the Hisense px3 pro and Nexigo aurora pro? I would be very interested because the Valerion Pro 2 and the max supposedly have 15000:1 dynamic and 4000:1 native contrast.
@@marcelonigra6741 It doesn't matter. It's all about which one projects the better image! Which one has the better contrast and which one looks more appealing...

Have you considered doing a category on menus? The HiSense menu is a real chore - about 6 button presses just to change the picture including an energy use warning you can't turn off.
I assume you have the EU version? If you have the US version pressing the "menu" button on the bottom left brings up the bottom menu and picture mode changing takes 1 additional button press, and there is no energy use warning.
@TheHookUp yeah I saw that: the us version has extra buttons. I wrote to HiSense about this they were really unhelpful sent me a one line response. I wonder if the US remote would work with UK version?
Not sure. The UK version is unfortunately wildly inferior. Not only does it have Vidda instead of GoogleTV, but it also has lower peak brightness, less dynamic contrast, and 3D is currently not working properly.

Thanks again.,
The BenQ V5010i does advertise as having a dynamic black mode. Did it not work properly during the test or is it not a real enhancement?
All of the projectors were 2-point white balance calibrated to account for screen differences, but not CMS calibrated.
Less than 5% of users get their projectors calibrated. So "not what people will have" is exactly what you would see if I calibrated all of them.
Fixed frame or floor rising?
@@TheHookUp Fixed frame
@@TheHookUp rob thank you for your review. nov 8 can't come any sooner (valerion). I'm with this guy.. what 120 screen fixed would you rock with your top pick on this list? thanks a bunch and keep doing the good work
Great work as always. Hope you can get your hands on Valerion pro2 for life style projectors comparison.
Would you pick the Nexigo Aurora Pro over the Xgimi Aura 2?
For dark room viewing? Yes.
Great review! I am currently using the Hisense 100 L9G and have been debating upgrading to the PX-3 Pro. Is there a big enough difference between them to justify the upgrade. Would love to know your thoughts
Amazing review, like always!
Fan noise (which should be pretty much meaningless) vs Deepest Black contrast ratio (Should be weighted very high importance)
It'd be great if you can please weigh each rating again based on importance to movie quality closeness to theater watching experience.
Great review as always. Now please do the standard/lifestyle 4k projectors review. I am really eyeing Hisense C2 Ultra. Just waiting for your stamp 😊
November 8th.
@@TheHookUp Awesome! Then I shall keep my checkbook shut until then and just in time for the valerion kickstarter offer, if that's the winner. 🤣
Hello, I'd like to upgrade my Samsung LS9T. Which one its the best Hisense px3 pro and Nexigo Aurora Pro for movies content?
You gotta to get your hands on the new Valerion vision master lifestyle pj. my man... Everyone on YT says it's completely revolutionary and a quantum leap forward in projector tech.
I honestly only trust you when it comes to pj reviews, so I’ll just be waiting patiently for your review of this sweet baby.
Hope it’s really everything they’ve been saying!
That review will be out November 8th.
Thank you for this awesome shoot out. 👍😎😎
Is there any less expensive on the market that worth a look? (I used to have an LG PH450 that was ok. around $500. Prob discontinued.)
Thank you! There's a wrong slide in the fan noise part (input lag instead of it).
Thanks. I was in a bit of a rush to finish editing this video before the hurricane hit.
Can you please do a comparison on Nexigo aurora pro vs new Formovie theatre premium?
too much hard works . keep up bro . 👏🏻 good work .👍🏻
Very good comparisons, thanks for the work. 👍
The comparison all UST enthusiast have been waiting for. Would any of these results change with a lenticular screen? Or might they all perform similarly compared to each other?
The goat review is out. 🍿🍿
Best independent reviewer on youtube! I can't wait to watch your review of the new Formovie Theater Premium 2024
which one do you think is better for color grading? I mean which one has better color reproduction for rec 709 and p3? Numbers say PX3 but Aurora pro looks kind of better... Which one would you recommend for films (as a client monitor)? It's not meant to be used always in a 100% dark room.
PX3-Pro
All the single lasers, all the single lasers,
Now put your hands up!
Rob,
As always, outstanding exhaustive reviews on these Laser TV projectors. In addition to the Aurora Pro being a top contender again this year, Nexigo is upstaging the competition by offering a Pro Laser TV/Fresnel screen bundle with a total cost less than last year's projector only cost. When should we expect your lifestyle projectors review. Looking forward to it 👍🏻
November 8th.
@@TheHookUp Great!! Thanks!
Why anyone would want some unheard of brand with "who knows if they will be around in a year to provide support", over a known brand like BENQ with superior color accuracy, is frankly beyond me. I've got the 7050i and it's been amazing for the last couple of years. Same lumens as the 5010i at 2500, same screen size at 120".
woa a new UST video :D
Thank you so much for the great and timely review! Something that would help me a lot would also know the throw distance and dimensions of each device. I can look them up of course but would be nice to have that information handy 😊
I seen in your screen review video you were interested in the formovie floor raising screen and they also just released the formovie premium. Have you got your hands on these ? I’d be very interested in knowing your thoughts.
Best TH-camr out there
Why not include the Formovie theater in this comparison ?
I hope that eventually there will be a breakthrough (i.e. local dimming), because evolution is too slow in my opinion.
..did you get new Formovie Theater Premium ? or is just like old Theater but 2200 lumens instead of 1800
Yes, but the firmware wasn't ready yet so it wasn't included.
respect for incredible testing
I was just shopping for a UST projector. Nice
Their limitations are:
1) No acoustically transparent UST ALR screens yet.
2) Limited to 150" screen and smaller.
3) Less corner sharpness than a standard throw.
any honest review on Awol 3000...im plaining to buy
thanks guys
Hi, would you reccomend PJ40(gen3) when it is about 425$? I live in poland and amazon is the only website that the projector is available but it costs a lot, i was wondering if something else is worth my time of looking than the nexigo. Love your videos
I do have budget of 500$, but i want a little of everything, i plan to play casually on it but mostly it will be for watching movies on my firestick
That's why it's important to consider context, and why my recommendations didn't necessarily correspond with the top score.
The bright room testing had over 100watts of LED overhead lights on. The projectors are just that bright.
Re PX3 Pro - Reviews say you can't screen 3D blu rays on it (no frame packing option) - if so, how did you review the 3D performance?
I believe it is a settings issue, waiting to hear back from Hisense, but I think it should be an easy fix.
Can these project on a ceiling, the roof, right above your bed when placed on a table beside the bed?
Great review. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
Thank you Sir. Great work as usual
Superb work sir
Great review! But i think comparing the IMAX enhanced projector with non IMAX Enhanced projector. Like Oppenheimer IMAX shot on enhaced and non enhanced projector to get some direct comparison. Thank you!
According to Disney+ Wakanda Forever is IMAX enhanced.
2 different propositions here, one is UST (PX3-PRO and Aurora PRO), the Valerion is a short/long throw unit.
@@marcelonigra6741 It doesn't matter. It's all about which one projects the better image! Which one has the better contrast and which one looks more appealing...
Don’t fall for Valerion. There are many scams on kickstarter and I doubt someone with no history of producing anything would make something better and for less. This is not how economy of scale works. See Hisense (big) vs AWOL (small) similar yet Hisense is considerably cheaper
Don’t fall for kickstarter. Many scams on it and you’re not guaranteed to get anything. I suspect it’s a scam - none of the new companies can create something that beats everyone and yet for much less. Not possible, not how economy of scale works. See Hisense and AWOL - similar yet Hisense beats it on proce
@@whitecrowuk575 Thanks for your opinion, but Valerion is a sister company of awol. And the details of the contrast have been confirmed according to some people. Then it can't really be a scam, can it?
Awesome showdown as usual! Thanks tons! Why are you choosing to keep the PX3-Pro over NexiGo Pro? You said they're close on contrast & blacks, but NexiGo seems better, more color accurate.
Over half of my viewing is daytime for football
@@TheHookUp Looks like the Formovie Theatre Premium is the one to get, then! You'd better start prepping now...
PX3-Pro is better.
