Put it on the dynomometer results are 59.01 horsepower at 5500 rpms, 73.21 lbs ft torque at 3000 rpms, rev limiter activated at 6000 rpms to protect engine from damage, air/fuel mix spot on perfect.
Would have been better to put some masking tape around the pop rivet to protect the chrome against drill walk. Cradle the pipe in a way that it won't move too. For those who do not have your steady hands that is.
Jimmy Keith I've had my bike dynoed with the same pipes on and all my mods and it's increased in hp after upjetting and that ais fixes backfire and with every air inducted exhaust system I think you'll find it not only looks better but you do have better performance in my experience same with lambret or egr blanking just my opinion
Craig Mintram if backfiring the annoying popping on deceleration. The issue is the carbs need to be synced. They get out of wack sometimes on there own. People think it's the AIS system but it's actually the carbs that need addressed. But I'm also gonna rip mine off. Once I get 2 .45 shells. I just don't want no one to think just removing AIS will eliminate backfire or rich or lean condition. I'm on about 5 different vstar groups/forum. Is where I have gotten my research from.
I put a set of Cobra Boulevard Slashcut Slip On Mufflers on my 2008 Honda VTX 1300 Retro , a Dynojet Kit in Carburetor, & K&N Airfilter in Stock Airbox for a stage 1 performance upgrade.
Do the shortys sound good at highway speed 55-60mph. Are they throaty or do they bang and pop. Love my 650 but on the highway it sounds like a 250, hate that.
I am not sure but I would guess not much. I did not feel any increase but the extra noise probably gives you a placebo effect. The 1100 is a fairly weak motor to start out with. Right now at 26500 miles I have blow by. Probably either rings or valves.
Love the sound of your Jardine Rumbler Slip On Mufflers they look great on your motorcycle.
Thank you.
I have a 650 and just started riding again. Thanks for the video, Sir. It was helpful . Be safe.
They sound nice. I also you have a bit of blow by on #2 cylinder. I see a bit of blue smoke when you shut down the throttle.
Burning off the anti-seize I used when installing them.
They do sound sweet! Just bought some for my Magna cant wait to install them =)

They sound sweet indeed. nice video. I will order a pair for my bike
do they sound good with the baffle in? Where can I buy them and do you have to re jet?
Nice job. Sounds good.

Sounds good
Did u have to change the jets ?
I added a hypercharger so I did change the jets.
What screw do you put in place of the rivet? Is it like a self tapping or small bolt with nut
I just used a screw and nut.
did u take off the AIS too? itll help richen out and provide a little more power
I came to the realization that I bought a bike without a lot of power so I will live with it the way it is. The pipes do sound good though.
Ais removal will give you no power benefits. Just needed for admissions. People remove to unclutter bike. Make it look better

But when you add after market exhaust or air cleaner its almost necessary to rejet carbs

Sounds great!
would this method apply the same with the 09 yamaha v star 650?
I am afraid I can't help you on that because I am not familiar with your bike.

youll have deceleration backfire if u dont adress the carbs changing the exhaust anyway

what is the horse power increase?? do u know

Good ideas, Thanks.
