Can you show how that pipe that connects to water pump attaches? The smaller one, not the ibgger one, I believe mine is leaking at the o-ring! sigh

Silly question here. I am replacing my 03 M45 Crankshaft pulley, and upon removal, the "soft metal" dowl pin got sheared off with the remainder still in the crankshaft hole. It's not so willing to come out. Could I make a dowl like you've done and use another hole in the crankshaft (being that there's 2 other holes), or would I have adverse consequences and I would need to use the orginal hole? Thank you for the videos you have btw!!

Thank you for the kind words. I am glad these one-off projects prove useful to some people once in a while.

My advice? Don't use the other 2 holes in case something shears in there as well. They are threaded and come in handy in more than one way, for example pulling that spacer/pump driver out of the crank snout.
I can't recall if all the threaded & dowel holes are the same ID, but *wouldn't it be nice to use a small piece of all-thread as a dowel?* Haha
I have sheared the soft pin upon removal, upon installation, no matyer how careful I was...and even installed some pulleys without them for testing. I have even gotten engines with histories of prior dealership work that came without the dowels.
Thankfully, it seems the entire assembly is made of individually balanced components and since the crank pulley is not used for timing purposes, the cars don't seem to care as to how the pulley is clocked relative to the crank.
That has been my experience, but the scientist in me still wants to keep the dowel in there, that's why I pull the spacer out and try to do all in my power to use the same hole. I have a few spares, and I've damaged a few trying to drill out the smashed pins.

You've seen the other crank pulley video, right? The one that discusses tightening it down.
