Thanks for the video! Just finishing a cummins swap and the power steering pumps leaking. Good to see it isn't as big a job as I thought it might be 👍

Most power steering pumps just get replaced but nice demo of a rebuild. I like your truck.

Thanks for the video bubba. I just bought my first 1st gen Dodge D350. It's a 1993 LE. I'm experiencing a small leak and my breaks are acting up a little.

I can vouch for that I just pulled my shaft out this afternoon while trying to remove the jaw coupling on the end of the shaft now I have to buy a new pump or try to retro fit my old Chevy pump to the gear

Useing tbis for the removal and replacement for mine. Shes shot, stiff and blows fluid out the cap. Shes likely the original from WAY back in 91 and its time to replace it

Just did my vac pump reseal recently but got new Borgeson power steering reservoir. Had I known the reseal on that was this easy I'd have just resealed that too - but no big deal. You really got your vac pump clean (like new looking). Another cool video. Thanks!

Used brake cleaner and a brass wire brush to clean. Spent about $15 on the reseal kits. .

Dakota Larson Sorry bud, I could not find any part numbers. Just found kits on E-Bay that said they would work.

What’s the part number for the seal kit

Behind the main line to the reservoir, is there a crush washer to help seal? Mine has been leaking from there and I tried tightening the line, but it hasn’t done much.

What is the part number for the power steering pump seals, I just ordered the one you showed for the vacuum pump seals

Sorry brother its been so long ago I don't have that info if it's not in the video. I believe I got it from Ebay.

How much fluid does the power steering system hold? I replaced the pump and resealed the vac pump on my '92 1st gen. that sat for several years. So far I have put in 16 quarts, and it still isn't full, with no visible leaks.

I think it is between 1/12 to 2 quarts . I would think you have some kind of problem. Check engine oil to make sure it isn’t leaking into the timing case.

How's your rebuild holding up? I don't really know where mine was leaking from. But I'm starting to wonder if I should just go with new oem and save the hassle. Especially if the leak was from the shaft seal but I read that was uncommon?

Dustin Dunphy My wife has put about 40k miles on it and no problems . It has developed a front main seal leak though. LOL!

@@FirstGenDiesel Good to know! I have it on the bench now so I might as well do it. Good luck on the front main seal. Seems straight forward but time consuming! Awesome truck you got. Thanks again.
