Hell yeah that’s awesome, I have always wanted to kill one, went twice and heard a bunch and seen some on the other ridges but not close enough for any shots. One day!!!
@@jprizzle2604 yea me too! Never been but I want to, my uncle went out for 3 or 4 days scouting setting up in bulls but not getting a shot then yesterday he made it happen and now his buddies got tags too fill also so hopefully they tag kne
That buck acted like he wasn't THE buck in that area. I know that whatever happened happened, but I hope I'm right and you get a crack at the bully in that area. That one will suit just fine if not ;)
I wish you guys had a yardage ticker at the bottom of the screen when you zoom in on deer so I could tell how far away they are from you. I know that's probably not possible, but it would be cool nonetheless.
Hands down the best hunting channel there is. Killing deer or not I enjoy every episode you guys put out and no matter what it seems like I always learn something new from Warb every episode he's in, no disrespect to any of the other guys but Aaron is one of the best outdoorsman I've ever seen.
Haven’t been out much this year because of being busy and crappy weather Got out for the second time so far yesterday and shot a nice 8 point on PA Public lab It’s my biggest deer ever
I think what happened with the buck was Warb grunted again when he was already looking in that direction. That's when you see the buck get nervous and leave. At least that's what it looks like to me.
Im 14 and hunt with my dad a bunch usually Yesterday I got a nice 8 point on public land here in Pennsylvania He noticed us and started stomping a little but really wanted to figure out what we were for a bit so he didn’t take off which was good
The rules say you can not cut anything, but the rules don't day anything about using twine to pin things back to create a hole and then removing the twine when you leave :P
Is the bedding you're talking about at 20:30 on an oxbow in that creek? Just curious what made y'all predict that was good bedding (besides the previous encounters you had there)
Great Video guys , looked like that big buck was just flagging while leaving ! Hopefully he wasn't waving good bye permanently ! Lol , looks like rain 3 days and then into low 30 next week central IL ! This Guy definitely is going to be in stand ! 👍
Seen an abnormally large buck this morning in East Tennessee, don’t know if he was passing through or not but definitely going to be looking into him. Always love watching you guys videos it gets me excited to get back in woods
See I freaking love this when y’all hunt like this and keep working after a mature buck it’s like the first time I’ve watched y’all all over in 2017 or 2018 idk time flies. Y’all have Learned me a lot. Love y’all keep doing what y’all do.
Awesome looking buck! That's been a productive piece of property yall been hunting it for awhile now. It looks to have all the major ingredients for harvesting a deer. Great job ya'll, good luck in the days to come!!
A thing we do is mow a narrow trail through the tall grass and weeds from their usual bedding to where we have ladder stands, pop up blinds and a few ground brush ambush spots. They will easily use these and lets us see them coming a lot easier and farther out. When possible we use a 3' riding lawnmower. Hey, it works great when you have static ambush sites.
Ahhh, the tending of the does. You can tell a lot about the bucks behavior and it's age. A young buck will chase the doe around like that, but a mature buck will just follow them around like a puppy and are really docile. The older bucks know how the rut works and are patient. They just wait for the doe to signal she's ready. Young bucks are loud and aggressive and push her around grunting and cutting them off. That's when grunting in big bucks is not easy. Especially if there is a low buck to doe ratio. I've seen it all in Minnesota...so much fun. Good luck guys!
Called one in with the can call the 21st nice buck and was able to harvest him!!! Love watching y’all’s videos!! Always looking for your new videos of y’all’s!!!
For the first buck that was chasing, any chance that grunting or snort wheezing would have pulled him to y’all? Is that just not the right time for that kind of call?
Why have I never seen anyone from THP use a can call ? When a buck loses a doe they work awesome. Some years it never leaves my pocket but when the circumstances are right it works.
Here in the Texas panhandle bucks aren't showing interest in the does yet. They have stopped hanging together so it's not too long away. This last weekend a 3 1/2 year old buck was running the does off the feeders hogging the corn. No scraps found yet at the normal places. Good video here. Wished I was young enough to tackle those climbing sticks. We have a few tress that they would work on.
Ive noticed alot of bowhunting channels this year have switched to saddles instead of treestands and ALOT more deer see them in the tree. Silhouetted off to the side of the tree trunk. Think I'll stick to a mobile stand.
That was a nice buck.i had that happen to many times when I started using mobile setups and filming gear. I would be getting everything setup and have deer come in and I wasn't ready or the caught me move.happens less now that I am smoother and faster setting up but it still happens. Keep up the good work THP Crew.I always enjoy your videos and try to learn something each time I watch.
Saw a mature buck guarding the first doe to come in in my neighbor hood this evening. Several subordinate bucks chasing other does who weren't having anything to do with them. And, of course, the sub bucks tried to sneak in to check out the dominant buck's girlfriend, unsuccessfully. It was quite the show! NW Illinois.
@@cantgetenoughoutdoors3258 I have only sat dark to dark 2 times in my life so far and looks like next Thursday will be my third ! Good luck to you also Outdoors !
I've learned so much from the THP guys and Dan Infalt. The challenge for me is I hunt public land in Mississippi. Of course deer abide by the same rules of nature here they do elsewhere, but you just won't see bucks out in the open on public lands, and on much private land. The reason? MS allows guns for THREE months. From the youth season the first week of Nov through Jan 31 guns of some type are allowed for deer hunting. Ninety days of firearms exploding in the woods of MS. Deer are surviors (4 million years), and they learn what it takes to stay alive. I've hunted places where firearms are greatly limited, and the behavior of the deer is totally different. Add to that the fact that our public lands are over-run with dog hunters, squirrel hunters, rabbit and coon hunters...in addition to lax laws regarding ATV riding, and the deer have learned to stay the hell out of the way!
Hey guys, Let me know if you drop by Archery Field and Sports in Des Mpine in the next few weeks. I am out here from NH to hunt and am a guest of Mark Wagner who says you guys stop in now and then to the shop. It would be very cool to meet you.
My name is Timothy and have some land left to me by grandfather... its 13 acres and about 9 huntable acres.. but in a horseshoe of ag fields. Not too too many hunters in area... have small food plot and box stand with perfect access.. my question is there are always scrapes in the woods and there's no way to even get to good trees to climb without tracking through trails or the food where they do come out. I see deer.. not all the deer all the time on camera but plenty of frequent bucks. Idk if I'm in a position where I'm handicapped and I don't have a choice but to hunt it as I have been or force a hunt and bust through all the sign to be close to the scrapes.
As a PR expert. Grow your channel by adding a few more 55+ hunters and have the group publish monthly. You have young hunters completely covered. Also, In the 55+ group, have an expert, mid-experience and a new hunter. Ok, ok, if you insist, I'm in!
Getting good footage of a mature public land buck is a trophy in itself. Ben rocked it.

Why have I never seen anyone from THP use a can call ? When a buck loses a doe they work awesome. Some years it never leaves my pocket but when the circumstances are right it works.
Probably because they endorse Woodhaven game calls.
