    I really like your education and clarity in your understanding. Let me say, you are an extremely brave and wonderful person. I have no doubt you will overcome all of your challenges you are facing now. Your intelligence and gift
    Of helping others will aid in helping you combat any possible depression or anxiety. I clearly can see your closeness to God is there with you always. Joy and happiness are in store for you always.
    Thank You 😊

    Thank you for sharing your experience with the Cardi Cath. I am 57 years old and in excellent physical condition, however, after a long time of high cholesterol (LDL0 I had a CT with contrast of my heart. What prompted this was my calcium score doubled in 5 years from 92 to 190. After the CT, they found that my coronary arteries are 80% blocked. I have a stress test next week with echocardiogram and we will see if a cardi cath is in my future. (My GP says yes) I am less afraid, but still scared after watching your video. We will see how this proceeds. My cardiologist also said to me that I need to address my gall bladder. I have a 2cm gall stone that has been there for years. I have never had any issues with it, but it showed itself in previous MRI's for other parts of my body. The cardiologist says that if I leave it I could develop cancer. WHAT?? I really don't want to remove my gall bladder, but would be curious of your experience with this surgery and post op changes. I only bring this up because you have had this surgery. Thank you again for sharing your experience and I wish the best with hopes of you getting the answers you need.

    I remember having a Cath when I was young. The hospital gave me a coloring book explaining what would happen. The fun thing, they said, was the opportunity to see my heart on 'TV'. I woke up just long enough to do just that. I was so excited 😂

    As I wrote recently below one else your video, currently I work as orderly in one Prague teaching hospital. And there are used following places for caths from they are inserted:
    1) wrist (as main, if possible) because it is very comfortable for patients to recover, as they don't need to lay 8 or more hours
    2) groin (if usage of wrist is not possible)
    And to sending of adult padients to pediatric hospitals: It may sound funny, but it happens quite often. When I worked on oncology ward, one patient had to be sent to pediatric oncology, because they could prepare chemotherapy for her low weight.

    I had one years ago, in November, 29, 2020, cardiac catheterization done due to COVID-19 virus I had three times. This last one caused me to have hard to breathe in my lungs 🫁🫁🫁🫁🫁🫁🫁 and my heart 💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜 rate was very low. So they did cardiac catheterization done with the dye. Have cardiologist tests done. It show's me my heart cardiomyopathy and heart failure and the catheterization shows up with a block vein and had echocardiogram showed up inlarged heart cardiomyopathy and heart failure ejection of 19 very slow 🦥. Spent five days.

    Did you feel the contrast when they put it in you or was the sedation enough you did not feel that?

    Thank you for sharing your story! My Dr. wants me to get a cardiac cath, but I am petrified. I had contrast dye about 15 years ago during a Cat Scan and it was the worst feeling I ever experienced when they put that thru me. Did you have any reaction to that contrast.

      I hope all went well just so you know there are other contrasts they can use. Will never do this again between the amount of anesthesia and the bad reactions to the dye still dealing with it 3 months later.

    Hey Marissa, great video. Were you able to get to the bottom of the dyspnea? Wish you all the best.

    • @LifeAftertheFontan
      @LifeAftertheFontan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi- thank you so much! I appreciate your comment. We never were able to find the cause of the dyspnea, but it has been happening less often. Right now my care team is under the impression that this may just be an example of the usual progression a Fontan patient experiences when aging. Thanks again for watching!
