Just resolved same issue. JK is working in TTL RS not RS485 mode ! And speed is 115200. This may be a bit too much for normal cabling system ( as on video). Just place converter to USB as close as possible to BMS and use USB extension cable. This worked for me.
I'm using original TTL to RS485 converter from JK, the cable is absolutely fine. I've checked it with 3 different BMS's and it was working without trouble. The problem was just it this one BMS on the video. It turns out that the BMS has faulty rs485 module.
Hi Peter - Did you resolve your issue? What model of BMS are you using and how did you convert the RS458 signal to CAN for the inverter to detect the JKBMS?, Get back at me as i might need your advice...
Can jk bms communicate with arduino? Do you have any information about this subject? I need to process the voltage and current values of the battery on the arduino.

@@mpeter2012 Hi Peter, it looks like I have exactly the same problem. RS485 worked fine for several weeks, but now it doesnt response any more. How did you manage to get a warranty replacement? Is it possible to replace just the communication module or did you replace the whole BMS?
@@thomaswurm3929 I've replaced the whole BMS. I had spare anyway so was not an issue. I didn't claim any warranty on the faulty one, I'm using it in the application where the rs485 communication is not needed

What is the software used to monitor BMS using RS485 ? can you share the code?
To monitor BMS you can use mobile app from JK, the software on the video is from Victron system
Did you solve this problem? I am seeing the exact same problem trying to hook up with Solar Assistant.
Jk BMS can be connected with growatts SPF 5000es?
It has been done on youtube, need to change protocol on inverter and maybe bms. Have you got it working yet? I want to connect to spf 3500 es.

Invest in USB isolators. If ANYTHING goes wrong with your grounding powerful current surges can destroy some expensive equipment.
Jk bms to sorotec inverter? Via rs 485
This BMS is connected with Victron inverter
Go to the third menu and enable RS485 and not CAN
This has nothing to do with the settings, this BMS RS485 module was faulty and it was replaced under warranty

Unplug the CAN port and try
this is RS485 BMS version... CAN port is not in use, there is nothing connected to it
