    Thank you for showing us your space and your tools! It was super interesting and I find it all very exciting. I agree, that second hand tools are perfect and often as good as the brand new ones. And as we move along and progress, we can also let our tools go to their new homes. There are groups on facebook, I recently joined one in the UK, so I'm sure people will be able to find one too :) Thanks for the awesome video again! ♥

      Yes, those groups are the best. When I was looking for a kiln to start practicing enameling I asked if there were people who had a kiln they wanted to sell, and within a few hours I got a lot of options to choose from!

    My dear Karolien, I'm finally catching up with your videos, I started from the newest one, because I just couldn't wait to see it haha :)) I LOVE IT!! Yes, please, do as many tours as you can, bench tour, office tour, drawers tour, backyard tour, you name it 😍 Your voice is so soft and I love your accent! I want to visit you in your studio so much... Couldn't plan anything just yet, but I will be looking at the tickets to Netherlands today to see if there would be something I could work out 😃

      Haha, a backyard tour would be very uncomfortable for me 🙈 it is the worst place of our home (we had big dreams and plans for it before the kids were born). If you find tickets to Brussels, Belgium, my studio is only 20min away by train. 😉 You’re very welcome to visit!

    This is a wonderful video but at the 1:30 min mark the music in background was already too much for my ears. Please know that 'music' is just unnecessary noise that hurts viewers ears. Why add it? It achieves nothing. It prevents the brain from processing, hurts the ears, makes you go deaf, and is a huge irritant preventing enjoyment of a soothing voice and visuals. Zen is the silence of background noise. Please remember that no demo, tour, DIY, cooking, or wildlife video should ever have music.
    Your studio is wonderful! How nice to have a shop window directly on the street. My mother was Belgian, so I find Belgium charming and want to visit again. I have lots of relatives mostly in Brussels. The pastries in Brussels are outstanding!
    This was a great tour. Nice to see what the serious stuff is - the rolling mill is beautiful. You made a commitment to this profession and your studio/ sales shop looks artistic and charming. What a lovely life!

      It's a soldering surface for rings, in the shape of a ring mandrel. it can be very handy on some designs, but the white part needs to be changed every once in a while.

    Hi Kornelia! Thank you for inspiration. Could you please tell more about soft pink wax you sculpt your pieces with? I am amazed with an idea of "sculpting" jewelry. I've never seen this before until I found your channel. Thank you!

    • @korneliajewelry
      @korneliajewelry  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, I totally understand what you say, the first time I heard about the possibility of “sculpting” jewelry, my heart jumped of joy ☺️ Have you seen my video series about the lost wax technique? Like this one: th-cam.com/video/qaqYA9AbTz8/w-d-xo.html in that video I only use the no.6 red mold-a-wax by Ferris. But there are probably other waxes too that are similar. Good luck, I hope you’ll love creating jewelry with this technique! 🍀

      @@korneliajewelry I looked it up online here in US and #6 red wax by Ferris is not on sale. There is only black one #5 and I am not sure if it is soft enough. There is also "French Modeling Wax" but it has mixed reviews, some are satisfied enough and some say it is not malleable enough. Do you think any of these would work?

    • @korneliajewelry
      @korneliajewelry  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The no 5 you can’t use only by hand, I have that one too and LOVE it, but in my opinion it is only very nice to work with in combination with an electric wax carving pen (so than you can set the temperature). The other wax, I don’t know. I would send your regular jeweller-supplier an e-mail to ask about the red wax. If they sell other wax by Ferris it should be possible for them to get this red wax too, I think.
      Oh and (maybe you have seen it too in my video about wax types and tools) ask your dentist 😉 people in the dentist industrie usually also have great suppliers for wax. And most wax I’ve tried that is supposed for dental industrie works perfect for jewelry casting too and is less expensive (or even free if you know people who work in the industry. 😉) Good luck!
