For the horrifying facts one: they didn't believe babies felt pain, and thus didn't administer pain meds during pediatric surgeries... Babies would be given paralytics for the surgery but would be awake and feeling every bit of it. This includes big procedures like OPEN HEART SURGERIES. They first started to properly anesthetize babies for surgery only recently in the 80s.

I needed this today. I haven't been able to sleep for 2 night and days, I am so scared even though other than being a woman and disabled I'm fairly safe I think but still it don't make me feel much better 😭 project 2025 is so scary and I am not able to get out due to financial and health issues and I'm in one of the most red states (I'm in Texas), unable to work, I depend on medications and my social security disability income etc. I just feel so helpless so yeah anyways thank you for releasing this right now ❤

Shabbas story at 10:18 gives me flash backs to when I worked in The Perfume Shop (all we sold was fragrance, nothing else) and people would come in and just say "Perfume!" Like it was a statement in itself. Depending on my mood I would just say "Yes" or gesture with my arms to the walls that had floor-ceiling shelves of perfume! I always found it baffling and amusing.
Trepanning (making holes in the skull) does actually work, but only in certain circumstances. Water, which is the basis of human bodily fluids, is incompressible, so when it builds up in your skull, your brain tissue gets crushed and dies, and it can happen surprisingly quickly and it will definitely kill you, or at least leave you brain-dead if allowed to go unchecked. Whereas cutting/drilling a hole in the skull might kill you of infection later, but without antibiotics, there's at least a tiny chance you live, and a much higher chance of survival in modern times. I know someone who had a ruptured blood vessel in the brain and had to have a section of skull removed. It's since been replaced with a metal plate, but there was a time where it was just covered over with skin. They do have brain damage, but they're still alive and doing okay. They're even still playing video games, with a modified controller.
Also this might cheer you up. We have 3 cats. Our oldest cat Rosiecat is somewhat of a cat burglar. We have had to buy lockable boxes for our pantry because Rosiecat steals crisps and biscuits. Last night we had to wrestle a pack of mince pies off her because she ran off with them off the kitchen side. Very lucky as currants are toxic and yes ive scolded my fella for leaving them there; also they're very well looked after and well fed she's just naughty. What can i say some people find crumbs in a pantry and get a cat to stop a mouse; me i have a cat behaving like a mouse! Hope that made you all laugh ❤
My parents only have 5 cats now but I grew up with ~8 most of my life. Many years later when they realized they could remove baby-proof things (thankfully I wasn’t a FAFO baby and very anxious) they still kept a few of the pantry locks because of the cats! I’m lucky enough to be straight passing and in a blue state…but still a woman. I’m mostly scared for my friends in red states and in general anyone who doesn’t fit their “acceptable kind of person”. A lot of my family is racist/homophobic…I know they are celebrating and that makes it worse. The one thing I’m grateful for is knowing I’m not alone.

My “we need to leave now” moment that was relatively recent was a little over a year ago. I was at a party & only knew one person there. The longer that I stayed the more urgent it felt that I leave. So I told my friend that I was leaving & left. There ended up being a really bad storm, some of the people from the party were injured in the storm when others thought that it was funny to lock them out. My friend was locked out but didn’t get hurt. I would have been outside with her had I stayed. Knowing my luck I would have been one of the people who got injured by debris or hail or both.

Speaking of medical issues I know in America I believe a few months ago a hospital was sued because they literally lost half of a man’s skull which left him with multiple infections and complications which he survived but you can imagine how his wife reacted when he came out of surgery.

In England it was like this for the last 14 years as we had the tories in and Boris who was similar i could never understand why he was voted in. Then there's reform who are even worse. The Labour party in charge now isn't much better and have made royal mistakes in the first 100 days. What i can say is don't give up and get involved in politics as you can then evoke change as if you don't things won't change. I haven't had many scary "we need to leave" moments but the one I did have is seared into my brain! I used to often go to 7-11 late at night, like midnight, and as a woman in my thirties at the time, you'd think that would be stupid, but I never thought anything of it. Until one time! I was the only customer in there, and the person working was a man, and as I was looking in one of the fridge cases, he started getting really close to me, which I was a little weirded out by, and then he put his hand on my arm and started flirting with me, and I was CREEPED out! I watch Forensic Files too damn much, and I'll tell you, my LIFE flashed before my eyes, too many murders featured on that show started like that and I just FROZE. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, and as I was leaving, he asked if I came alone!! Omg I was so scared! Thankfully I got away and nothing happened, but I was never so scared for my life before and I haven't since, thank god!

I'm a LGBTQ community member and had Roe v Wade ended two years prior than it did I wouldn't be here now because I had a miscarriage...so I'm more aware and cautious of my surroundings and can't understand how this happened with how it seemed it would go from seeing the rallies and endorsements . My family is priviledged enough that we could move if we needed to, but honestly the hardest part is knowing that I live in a country surrounded by people who willingly voted for this, or didn't care enough to vote. I’m a travel agent, I had a trip booked to China in November 2019 (Before Covid was a thing) something told me not to go, so I changed it to somewhere else. Had I gone, I would have been stuck for goodness knows how long and probably caught it. I trusted my gut then and I can’t believe what happened only a month later… ❤ Trust your gut!

From the stories I’ve heard from the 18 years we’ve been together, dead bodies do all sorts of things I never thought they’d do:😬😐 -Rigamortus does set in BUT, after about 6-8 hours, a body will go limp, again -it’s true, after you die, your bowels and urine do release. The muscles that which hold “everything in,” relax when you die. It’s very common. And, nothing paramedic/police/fire responders, judge the deceased for. -your body will “pop/crack” and potentially move after death. My husband said it’s normal to hear/see noises or movements. The noises are gases which are releasing in muscles/joints. And some times, my husband does see the occasional twitch/jump of a body. 99.99% the person is passed but, if him and his partners see multiple things in a short period of time, they DO check for life a few more times. -the last thing I’ll say is: if you are unalived, and someone ties something to your body/puts you in a container… thinking it will sink and you won’t be found… WELL, turns out, EVENTUALLY, your body will naturally start to bloat, extremely bad, because all the gases being released from your body after death have no where to go…. The trapped gas will help to float/ resurface your body to the top of the water. It can take weeks to months but, it will happen.
Best form of karma I've seen: Someone wanted to take in a child but was abusive to their own kids while they were growing up. They cried about not being allowed to be the childs legal guardian.

I've been living in Seoul and this discussion reminds me of how my partner and I were in Itaewon celebrating Halloween 2022 the night nearly 160 people died from being crushed in a narrow street. We walked right by there and were going to possibly go on that street, but just decided maybe not because it was really busy. When we got home, we saw news that there had been faintings, and then deaths, and then by the next morning we woke up to a reported death toll of over 150 and worried texts from people. We missed the crowd crush by maybe an hour or two. And my boyfriend's friend was on the street that night and experienced some of it before it got deadly. RIP everyone who was just trying to have a good time that night 🕯
As a professional, may I add some commentary to the moving corpse bit. Dead bodies don't grunt or make movements the way the general public imagines them to. When a corpse enters the faze of decomposition that generates a lot of gasses, it is possible that it may slightly move (like you need very long timelapse to register that) because of the pressure building inside the rotting body. "Grunts" are nothing else than escaping gas. As far as pooping goes, yes, muscles decompose and there's no tonus, plus building gasses make the fecal matter literally being pushed out. The same mechanism occurs when a heavily pregnant person dies, it is possible that the fetus could be pushed out of the birth canal just like when in labor. This phenomenon is called a "coffin birth", and is a very rare occurrence, mostly because now the medical help is quick enough to save the fetus, it dies 5 minutes after a pregnant person's heart stops beating (plus these days not many people look back inside the coffin to check for signs of witchcraft). In the past times, people believed that it's a sign of being a witch, you know, the same shtick as growing hair and fingernails (they don't grow, skin just shrinks).

Also, I studied history in school and I worked in the Texas government. I know better than most what the policies are in this area.
For the horrifying facts one: they didn't believe babies felt pain, and thus didn't administer pain meds during pediatric surgeries... Babies would be given paralytics for the surgery but would be awake and feeling every bit of it. This includes big procedures like OPEN HEART SURGERIES. They first started to properly anesthetize babies for surgery only recently in the 80s.

Shabbas story at 10:18 gives me flash backs to when I worked in The Perfume Shop (all we sold was fragrance, nothing else) and people would come in and just say "Perfume!" Like it was a statement in itself. Depending on my mood I would just say "Yes" or gesture with my arms to the walls that had floor-ceiling shelves of perfume! I always found it baffling and amusing.
Trepanning (making holes in the skull) does actually work, but only in certain circumstances. Specifically, if you have bleeding on the brain, due to a head injury or aneurysm, or other things that increase the pressure in the inside of your skull. Water, which is the basis of human bodily fluids, is incompressible, so when it builds up in your skull, your brain tissue gets crushed and dies, and it can happen surprisingly quickly and it will definitely kill you, or at least leave you brain-dead if allowed to go unchecked. Whereas cutting/drilling a hole in the skull might kill you of infection later, but without antibiotics, there's at least a tiny chance you live, and a much higher chance of survival in modern times.
I know someone who had a ruptured blood vessel in the brain and had to have a section of skull removed. It's since been replaced with a metal plate, but there was a time where it was just covered over with skin. They do have brain damage, but they're still alive and doing okay. They're even still playing video games, with a modified controller.

Also this might cheer you up. We have 3 cats. Our oldest cat Rosiecat is somewhat of a cat burglar. We have had to buy lockable boxes for our pantry because Rosiecat steals crisps and biscuits. Last night we had to wrestle a pack of mince pies off her because she ran off with them off the kitchen side. Very lucky as currants are toxic and yes ive scolded my fella for leaving them there; also they're very well looked after and well fed she's just naughty. What can i say some people find crumbs in a pantry and get a cat to stop a mouse; me i have a cat behaving like a mouse! Hope that made you all laugh ❤
My parents only have 5 cats now but I grew up with ~8 most of my life. Many years later when they realized they could remove baby-proof things (thankfully I wasn’t a FAFO baby and very anxious) they still kept a few of the pantry locks because of the cats!

My “we need to leave now” moment that was relatively recent was a little over a year ago. I was at a party & only knew one person there. The longer that I stayed the more urgent it felt that I leave. So I told my friend that I was leaving & left. There ended up being a really bad storm, some of the people from the party were injured in the storm when others thought that it was funny to lock them out. My friend was locked out but didn’t get hurt. I would have been outside with her had I stayed. Knowing my luck I would have been one of the people who got injured by debris or hail or both.

In England it was like this for the last 14 years as we had the tories in and Boris who was similar i could never understand why he was voted in. Then there's reform who are even worse. The Labour party in charge now isn't much better and have made royal mistakes in the first 100 days. What i can say is don't give up and get involved in politics as you can then evoke change as if you don't things won't change. I haven't had many scary "we need to leave" moments but the one I did have is seared into my brain! I used to often go to 7-11 late at night, like midnight, and as a woman in my thirties at the time, you'd think that would be stupid, but I never thought anything of it. Until one time! I was the only customer in there, and the person working was a man, and as I was looking in one of the fridge cases, he started getting really close to me, which I was a little weirded out by, and then he put his hand on my arm and started flirting with me, and I was CREEPED out! I watch Forensic Files too damn much, and I'll tell you, my LIFE flashed before my eyes, too many murders featured on that show started like that and I just FROZE. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, and as I was leaving, he asked if I came alone!! Omg I was so scared! Thankfully I got away and nothing happened, but I was never so scared for my life before and I haven't since, thank god!

15:39 My husband has been a paramedic for 24 years. From the stories I’ve heard from the 18 years we’ve been together, dead bodies do all sorts of things I never thought they’d do:😬😐
-Rigamortus does set in BUT, after about 6-8 hours, a body will go limp, again
-it’s true, after you die, your bowels and urine do release. The muscles that which hold “everything in,” relax when you die. It’s very common. And, nothing paramedic/police/fire responders, judge the deceased for.
-your body will “pop/crack” and potentially move after death. My husband said it’s normal to hear/see noises or movements. The noises are gases which are releasing in muscles/joints. And some times, my husband does see the occasional twitch/jump of a body. 99.99% the person is passed but, if him and his partners see multiple things in a short period of time, they DO check for life a few more times.
-the last thing I’ll say is: if you are unalived, and someone ties something to your body/puts you in a container… thinking it will sink and you won’t be found… WELL, turns out, EVENTUALLY, your body will naturally start to bloat, extremely bad, because all the gases being released from your body after death have no where to go…. The trapped gas will help to float/ resurface your body to the top of the water. It can take weeks to months but, it will happen.
Best form of karma I've seen: Someone wanted to take in a child but was abusive to their own kids while they were growing up. They cried about not being allowed to be the childs legal guardian.

I've been living in Seoul and this discussion reminds me of how my partner and I were in Itaewon celebrating Halloween 2022 the night nearly 160 people died from being crushed in a narrow street. We walked right by there and were going to possibly go on that street, but just decided maybe not because it was really busy. When we got home, we saw news that there had been faintings, and then deaths, and then by the next morning we woke up to a reported death toll of over 150 and worried texts from people. We missed the crowd crush by maybe an hour or two. And my boyfriend's friend was on the street that night and experienced some of it before it got deadly. RIP everyone who was just trying to have a good time that night 🕯

As a professional, may I add some commentary to the moving corpse bit.
Dead bodies don't grunt or make movements the way the general public imagines them to. When a corpse enters the faze of decomposition that generates a lot of gasses, it is possible that it may slightly move (like you need very long timelapse to register that) because of the pressure building inside the rotting body. "Grunts" are nothing else than escaping gas. As far as pooping goes, yes, muscles decompose and there's no tonus, plus building gasses make the fecal matter literally being pushed out. The same mechanism occurs when a heavily pregnant person dies, it is possible that the fetus could be pushed out of the birth canal just like when in labor. This phenomenon is called a "coffin birth", and is a very rare occurrence, mostly because now the medical help is quick enough to save the fetus, it dies 5 minutes after a pregnant person's heart stops beating (plus these days not many people look back inside the coffin to check for signs of witchcraft). In the past times, people believed that it's a sign of being a witch, you know, the same shtick as growing hair and fingernails (they don't grow, skin just shrinks).

I remember getting a reply about a job inquiry at a chip shop and the boss told me we'd interview in his car one evening. Obviously I didn't go alone, he then got incredibly angry that I'd "wasted his time" and told me to just meet him at the chippy. Like, if that was an option the whole time why did you wanna get me in your car? Absolute creep - always have your guard up, ladies, gents, well everyone really.

My husband shaves legs on the couch. My stepdad does it for my mom because he can't fathom her having to do it herself, and open a door...and I asked for him to do it, and he actually also loves doing it for me ❤

There is a story line to Terrifier. It’s lightly introduced in the first one and there’s more revealed in the second one. Haven’t seen the third one yet but I heard good things. I personally think the storyline is freakin nuts and like a train wreck you can’t stop watching.

I’m religious and I absolutely love you. I’m a firm believer that having faith doesn’t cancel out my ability to be sane. The world would be so much better if everyone could just live their lives , be themselves, don’t push your religious beliefs on others. Religion has started the most wars…..that’s not what faith is meant to be about.
