You're fcking adorable, I'm so glad he brought you on!! 💗💖🩷 Y'all need to come and stay at the beach in Florida for a week and record some specials!!!!!
I can not really afford it but I just took my kids to the movie theater. Spend about $102 between 6 tickets, 1 bucket of popcorn & 2 drinks (with 2 straws each) to be shared by the 4 kids. I was able to save $20-30 by buying candy from the dollar store to sneak in instead of buying at the theater. The kids had an amazing time while I hopefully created a memory. I will figure out the rest of the bills later. The kids enjoy pb&j sandwiches & ramen anyway so they won't know I just can't afford anything else. Poor people need to have fun once in a while too.
We did stuff like that when I was a kid, too. I had extreme anxiety that my parents couldn’t afford things because I always got pass me downs and uncomfortable shoes at the store. We never went on vacations and now I love traveling because I finally can. So yeah, people need to be less judgmental about what people like and do. It’s a shame we spend most our lives working. It can’t just be that.
I love this soo much! .. I get shit talked cos when I was made redundant I spend a year making memories with my grandkids .. and yeah sometimes I wish I still had a little fall back money but I'd do it again every time. i'm saying this to avoid stating the whole thing that 'poor people need to be punished for being poor so dont deserve anything nice' is f***ing evil on every single level .. at what point of richness are you allowed KFC exactly?
As a poor adult who goes to the movies alone, I buy candy and a bottled beverage at the grocery store and toss them in my purse. The workers don't check, and I've spent $4 on consessions instead of $12.
Thankfully over here they allow you to take backpack with you and they all know we have it fill with the stuff of groceries store next door , but when we buy 1 item from their store they will never check a bag as compensation of "fair deal" , this allowed us to have cheaper movie times ^^ But I cannot believe how expensive it is there for 4 kids.... I remember we could never afford movies or anything as a child, but that don't mean we cannot make up the lost time now we can afford it a little more, so that's how we live by !
On the face tattoos, I live in New Zealand, and culturally for our indigenous people, particular tribal face tattoos are a symbol of honour and status, or chieftainship. It’s really quite common in pacific indigenous cultures for well respected or high status people to have face tattoos.
And yet ive seen articles where maoris with the cultural face tattoos have been refused entry to bars and restuarants and even shops in NZ due to them having these cultural tattoos.
@@haylene7521 it happens, yes. But really not much in comparison to other countries. I’m covered in tattoos and work a pretty high power govt job. The tattoo prejudice here is really nothing comparatively to the rest of the world.
I think that the face tattoos that they are speaking of are the ones for people who aren’t doing it for cultural reasons. Like the people who get things “sit here” on their upper lip & stupid things like that.
Lol the incest question had me cackling bc my bestie has an identical twin sister and HATES three "would you sleep with your clone" question bc in her words "i do have a clone and that's my SISTER 😭😭😭"
In the words of someone smarter than myself: "You are not obligated to be the bigger person with someone who has no interest in being a bigger person."
Honestly, this so much. I don't go out looking for trouble and I hate confrontation but if you're gonna play petty games with me, I will not hesitate to stoop to yr level and beat you at your own game. I have learned to take the joy out of bullying me or pushing me around real fast 😂
I just watched something recently and a quote from it stuck out to me that was along these lines. And the line was “My dad always told me when you see a man laying in the gutter, reach down and give him a hand. But when that man starts pulling you into the gutter, you gotta let go.” Be the bigger person until being the bigger person is a detriment to you.
Yeah I just don't fully agree with that. When you work with someone who reacts petty. I'd rather be the 'bigger person', keep saying "good morning" and "have a nice evening" even though I get no response. Because that keeps the blame fully on them AND it keeps the mood on the workfloor a bit better than people acting like todlers towards each other.
@@SlothDaan [I apologize for the length of this.] The quote is meant to emphasize that no one is owed our time, energy, and rent-free room in our heads. The approach you mentioned seems to work well for you, which is awesome. There are a lot of other options, however, that work better for some people who have suffered abuse in the past and tend to fall back on a "fawn" response, quickly spiraling into coping via old, triggered behavior ("Gray Rocking" is one of my favorites.) The most important outcome, in my mind, is that folks can walk away with their self-respect and boundaries intact. Patrick Teahan has some great videos about dealing with (and healing from) people who move about in the world with little to no respect for others. And none of the options require "going low", as some people say, to feel safe.
22:10 on 9-5s, I love my 9-5, as an autistic person it provides me so much structure and support to my day, I am the healthiest and happiest I have ever been, an in-person 9-5 has made such a difference to my life
My current 4 day work/school week has done wonders for my mental health. Enough structure to motivate me abd keep me active but still leaving enough breathing space to recover
The full saying of "blood is thicker than water" is actually "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." Meaning the exact opposit of how it's used. It really meant that the people you choose to be with are more important than your biological relatives. You should choose the people you've chosen to care about, and not the people who you're related to biologically if those people don't actually love you and even use or abuse you.
Yes, this!! I love pointing that one out. My other favorite is the whole “the road less traveled,” the point of the poem is literally that neither road was really better than the other, but what you choose in the moment makes all the difference in life bc you can’t go back and choose something else.
Being the bigger person is more about choosing your battles because some people aren't worth used toilet paper in a gas station toilet, let alone an hour of your energy.
02:30 - I feel like this is unintentionally mildly transphobic. Because a lot of trans people need hormones and surgeries in order to feel comfortable in their own skin which means that they are happier which, in my opinion, is the best glow up you can have: to be happier in yourself.
Wait who’s transphobic now? Are you saying he is? I don’t understand how you got unintelligent “moldy” transpoopic from what they said. RELAX. It’ll be okay.
Exactly what I was thinking as well. English is my second language, and I've always always seen "glow up" meaning being happier. It's a glow up if you've lost weight and feel better in your skin, if you've gained weight and you feel happier in your skin. If you're transitioned, detranstioned whatever. If you're happier in the 'after' it's a glow up!! 🏳️⚧️🩷
also, why do they get to choose what is and isn’t valid? why is it valid to cut your hair but not get lip filler? if you’re hot you’re hot, it doesn’t matter if that’s through cosmetic surgery or not.
I feel like it's important to consider cultural practices when it comes to face tattoos. There are several indigenous cultures across the world, like the Inuit and the Maori, who engage in face tattoos as part of their traditional cultural practices. Practices that have, historically, been supressed through the systematic cultural erasure and genocide inflicted upon them by colonial powers.
@onlyfoes What does that have to do with being cognizant of other people's cultural practices, though? Either way, what you're personally ok with, even within your own culture, doesn't matter when it comes to how other people choose to present themselves. It doesn't affect you, so you being OK or not ok with it is irrelevant.
@@catnublia all I'm saying is that it's ok not being ok with something that is part of other people's culture for example but not yours. It's the more prominent culture's decision what they allow inside their own cultural realm and what not. Or let's just shorten it up with 'When in Rome...'
@onlyfoes This is a wildly ignorant take. It doesn't matter what you're ok with when people do things that don't involve you. And you certainly don't get to decide what non-harmful cultural practices, especially ones of a culture you aren't a part of, are or aren't ok. That's colonial thinking. Thinking like that is exactly what led to the continued and enduring cultural genocides against indigenous cultures worldwide. Like the Inuit and Maori peoples, who certainly don't care what aspects of their cultures you personally think are or aren't ok
@@onlyfoesexcept by the logic of your comment with the whole "prominent culture" stuff Maori and Inuit people shouldn't expect to practice their own culture, on their own ancestral lands, BC white colonizers have made themselves the "prominent culture" through centuries of violence. It comes across like you're arguing for the Indigenous people respecting and defaulting to the cultural norms of people who brutalized and had no respect for the cultural norms of their own ancestors.
Even tho my tattoos are nature theme and done well, I got turned down in an interview bc I have a half sleeve and it goes onto my hand and knuckles. .... and all my ear piercings. I just smiled and said. "Thank you for your time, it's unfortunate tho that my art makes companys think it affects my work ethic bc I am a hard worker... but anyways have a nice day"
26:50 people with anxiety or neutrodivergence often find it really easy to defend others, and often feel really strongly about jumping in to defend others, but struggle to be assertive when it comes to their own needs. That people who can't stand up for themselves won't stand up for others is completely incorrect
Yeah it differs greatly between people but still letting people walk all over you all the time will lead to you not being able to be there for others in the end, healthy bounderies are overall benificial, does not mean one needs to be vindictive though. In my opinion drawing healthy boundaries is being the bigger person, even though I am one of those who very fast jump to othet peoples defense and having a way harder time protecting myself
I cannot describe how validated I felt when you talked about the people messing up the bathrooms. I work in maintenance at a local park and the amount of, what I would describe as sc*t play, is absolutely baffling and disturbing. Someone literally wrote someone’s name in excrement on the wall in one of the toilets. It’s just beyond what I can comprehend and honestly working in this field has really changed how I view other people. Thanks for the laughs as usual.
I worked at hobby lobby at 17 and had someone do something similar in the woman's bathroom, so much so, that I preferred to clean the men's bathroom cuz it was cleaner. I didn't know what the hell those older Christian ladies were doing in there but they needed to stop. I had to get a coworker to help cuz a few times it was too much for me to handle. Do these people do this in their own bathrooms too? The hell are they thinking?
I was bullied in school and trying to stand up for myself has only ever made things worse It would either just provoke my bullies more or cause teachers to put all the blame on me and punish me So i think its a bit unfair to judge people for literally not being able to stand up for themselves Like yes im not a strong person, but i also don't see anything i could have done to defend myself in that situation, i was literally a young child/ teenager!
Tbh I wouldn't trade my job for the world 😅 like yeah, waking up at five in the morning is never fun, but my job has a good routine and reliable coworkers so it hardly ever feels like work
I told my secondary school crush I had a crush on him, he had a crush on me we were both to shy at school to say anything to each other we've now been married 12 years in our early 40s with 2 beautiful children its never to late.
I officiated the wedding for someone with a similar story. She had a huge crush on a guy in high school, then he came through her checkout line at work. They exchanged numbers, started dating a while later, and now they've been married for about five years with two kids.
I relate hard to this! And its soooo expensive to be disabled. In my area a wheelchair taxi is 3 times as expensive than a regular taxi. So have to choose carefully how often i choose to enjoy my life
2:10 It’s the whole “I believe in ageing gracefully.” Brigade. Not that there’s anything wrong in that but it’s thrown at people (especially women) with arrogance. Do you think that male actor’s forehead has been smooth since infancy?
the one about brands sponsoring youtubers is honestly true... let's see, established titles, air up, better help, raycon, nord vpn, seat geek and many others are either scams, dont deliver the standard of quality they promise or are just garbage in general. some brands sponsoring some creators make sense. but a LOT of the big ones are shit.
I don't want to place blame on the individual creators, because they work hard and deserve to be paid. But I think the system is broken. The creators shouldn't have to shill these products to get paid. I do think it's different from a TV advert because it takes advantage of the trust that the creator has built with their audience. Obviously I am more likely to buy something if it's recommended by Shaaba, a person whose opinions I value. Brands paying for that trust seems icky to me.
@@alex_blue5802 i mean it really is no different to actors who are beloved and paid them apptly for their apperance and voice cause they knew it was a worthwhile investment.
Life tip: tell them you want a cake to feed however many you expect to come, and you need however many layers, and say it’s for a special occasion or something. As soon as you say “wedding” the price shoots up. But a ‘big pretty cake for fun’ is muuuuuch cheaper
You talking about being the bigger person in retail reminded me of my manager from Hobby Lobby. A friend of mine worked there and she was covered in piercings, had purple hair and tattoos and you can imagine in a christain store like that, we had several issues with the customers. One lady was checking out and she was working the register, the lady started making a scence and refused to checked out by her solely based on her appearance. My manager came up, listened to her rant a bit, then WENT OFF. Told her to get the hell out his store and he didnt want her business anymore. We were shook but i gained respect for him that day knowing he valued his employees over rude, inconsolable customers. Plus, she made my friend cry so she got what she deserved. Edit: Also on the thrill ride topic, there was a merry go round at Liberty Land that malfunctioned and started going super fast and ended up unaliving a child. EVERY ride has a risk, especially when you have people operating them.
9-5 jobs where I'm at are really fading out. Most employers only want to give employees (legally) part-time hours (so the employer doesn't have to pay benifits or even give a lunch break). So people end up working 2 or 3 jobs at part-time hours and rates just to keep up, and getting no benifits from any employer. Some of the government jobs even have 12 hour work days (and calling them in on days off) and then let the new employee go before the 90 day they need to wait before getting any benifits (and can also legally be fired for any reason including "we just felt like it" or discriminatory reasons). It's an atrocity!
25:30 - Shaaba: I haven’t worn a bra since before the pandemic! Me: same but for different reasons* 😉 *I realised I was trans while we were in lockdown 🤣
The kfc bit broke my heart a little. Im so happy to see someone like roly be able to break out of that poverty, and break away from that disfunction. That is truly admirable
I'm on a disability pension and forced to live well below the poverty line due to this. So, when I get judged when I save super hard for something like new shoes ( as mine are literally falling apart ) or clothes I need and even then I can't afford them. But any luxury at all, I can't have or buy due to how much I get. (I also live alone). I don't drink or smoke or whatever and I don't ever go out. But I still feel like I'm being punished for not being able to work or get assistance to find a small job that I can maybe do in small increments, is wild. It's actually gross that others judge you if you buy a take away once and a while as you just want to have a taste of enjoyment in life. It's bizarre. If I knew how to edit on my laptop and use my phone for the camera as I literally can't afford a 2nd hand camera, I'd be having a go at TH-cam myself with the content I have in mind. I'd love to and think I could manage it on a smaller basis. But, where's the help to assist me in this or trying to get a job that has a flexible employer who understands my disability and chronic pain and we vary my hours accordingly. I would have to start of very small in terms of hours as it will take a huge toll. But I'm willing and have been asking for 5 years for help to get a small job to help myself and give me back some dignity. Edit to add: re TH-cam, I'd only do maybe 1 video a week at most. That would be a huge amount of work for me.
Hi. First I'd like to say, I'm sorry, you're going through that. It sucks. And I really hope this doesn't come off as judgemental in any way (English isn't my first language), but have you attempted to find some tutorials on TH-cam for editing and phone camera? I think I remember seeing a video once about a free-to-use editing software (although I might be misremembering). And if you do end up starting up TH-cam I'd love to give it a watch to see if it's for me. I really hope things work out for you.😊
I would only have an opinion about someone spending above their means if they whined at me about how they're broke all the time and asked to borrow money or for me to buy them things.
Yeah, I feel like there's a bit of a limit of "unnecessary" spending, imo 800$ tattoo and yeezys are very very big purchases for someone that's whining about being poor
What is sad about the rainbow is nothing was stolen from anyone. Rainbows are an optical phenomenon that form when sunlight passes through water droplets and scatters into an observer's eyes. This process is called refraction, which occurs when light changes direction as it passes through a medium denser than air, like water. As the light enters the water droplet, it slows down and bends, then reflects off the inside of the droplet and separates into its component colors. When the light exits the droplet, it creates a rainbow. In the sky to the sprinkler in your yard. Nothing was stolen from anyone, the color wheel is all colors primary, secondary and on.
Exactly! Plus (if you wanna be religious about it), the rainbow is meant to represent diversity & unity between all. It’s a symbol of kindness, love, compassion, community… That always included LGBT+. Nothing even changed, it’s just that some people don’t want to treat things (or others) with that love & kindness. So-called Christians are the ones who stole the rainbow from God (goodness/life/people), if anything. They need to stop lying to theirselves & spreading their hatred for no reason. Maybe they could learn something (instead of assuming or pretending). _Might be a bit ranty, sorry._
the idea that rainbows are "just for the gays" is so preposterous. not only was the original rainbow flag meant to include EVERYONE - the colors stood for things like harmony and joy - the fear seems to be "if i wear something rainbow-colored, people will think i'm gay!" which, first of all, OH NO PERISH THE THOUGHT 🙄 but second, no they won't. my daughter has a bunch of rainbow stuff, backpacks and shoes and "be kind" t-shirts with rainbows and happy faces on them. no one thinks she's gay. no one's looking at a child with a rainbow hair bow in going "OH NO A GAY CHILD!" if you're wearing a rainbow tie-dye t-shirt you're more likely to be mistaken for a hippie than a homosexual. even the literal pride flag is not "just for the gays" as it represents pride in a multitude of marginalized identities AND ALSO ALLIES. you can be cishet and wave the rainbow flag if you're an ally. and if they genuinely feel like the refraction of light is somehow "the sky being gay" then their homophobia has rotted their brain.
@@dietotaku “then their homophobia has rotten their brain” 😂 I do have a tiny bit to add. As an adult, people might make those assumptions. This has happened to me (closeted). I always loved tie-dye & wore it all the time (just cause I like it). More lately, though (I’m almost 30), some people have used _even that_ as an excuse to start making assumptions that I’m gay & being hateful (and I’m bi/abro & fluid- if you’re gonna hate me for something stupid, get it right). I’m in a pretty bad area, so I’m sure that’s a big part of it. Probably better in other places. Being in a small town, with a bunch of bigoted people & everyone else wanting to get away from here (most people I knew, have left by now); sure make it hard to know kind people. At least, in-person.
32:45 I disgusts me that theres anyone who doesnt close the lid. I literally have a note above my toilet telling any visitors to close the lid before they flush. I feel so strongly about this
Awesome video!! Have to say, I am a HEAVILY tattooed woman and I get judged a lot. I get the 'you'll never get a good job', 'how are you going to look when you're old' or my favourite....'you'd be so pretty if you didn't have all of those tattoos'. I have 3 on my face and forehead, full neck and chest, two fun sleeves as an example and I knew what I was getting myself into! Unfortunately people still think it's OK to give their opinion despite not being asked! As for taking me seriously.....with my mentality, that's difficult in itself haha!
I was bullied in school. Teachers never did anything, my parents did try by talking to the school, but again, that didn't do anything, and then they just told me to ignore it and eventually the bullies would get bored. That was bull but being the "shy kid" I was, that's what I did. the bullying got worse, I got quieter about it because I learned that nothing could stop it, not even the adults. Until one day in high school one bully yanked my hair so hard I fell out of my seat and onto the floor of the bus. I just snapped and I punched the bully in the face. The bus driver pulled over and basically told me "about time." and told the bully to stop crying. I didn't get in trouble at all which I was shocked about and well, after that everyone who bullied me just gave me space. The rest of my school days were peaceful. So yeah, "being the bigger person" can only get you so far. Sometimes you have to speak their language to get them to back off.
As someone who mostly had little money, I agree, people deserve to splurge on themselves every now and then. Like still be mindful of the budget and existing money but to be able to keep going, keep money for fun stuff. I have friends who can just say "Oh I want a new tattoo" and get it the same month or like in the next 3 months. For my tattoos I had to save up for a pretty long time and even then I had to take back out some money here and there for neccessities. In the end responsibilities come first (rent, food, etc.) but when possible there should be a little pot for yourself.
The issue that typically came from 9 to 5 jobs was that it often related to office jobs were you could probably get things done in a few hours and if you didn't pretend to be be busy the rest of the time (instead of just being allowed to leave) you'd get yelled at and given other people's work. Efficiency literally gets you in trouble and that is demoralizing as hell. (I experienced similar in a couple warehouse jobs I worked at as well)
For sure, that's so true. I hate that being efficient is just an invitation to heap more work on you. I'm in an office job with a very specific list of things to do, which usually keeps me occupied all day, but even when I truly do not have anything worthwhile to do, I still click around and make it look like I'm doing something so I don't get yelled at for not working. I used to read at the end of the day when I ran out of actions to do. I don't do that anymore because I got in trouble for it. Instead now I have to invent something to do because I have nothing else but I'm not allowed to read.
I have worked in offices for more than 10 years and never yet had a job where my to do list was done before the end of the day. Same with any colleague I have had (part of my work is HR so I need to be aware of how colleague are doing). It’s always been the opposite where there was more work than people to do it.
@@s.a.4358 so instead of a 5 hour task being stretched out over 8 hours you instead had 2 or 3 people's jobs because of understaffing. In my experience that's not a whole lot more moralizing.
@@AnimeLuver0604 it’s really not better. I’d even dare to say it is worse. Sadly that is my experience, as well as having to argue every year for more budget to hire more staff or give pay rises.

Oh my god about the being in public and not touching things during covid part I have so many stories. Working in retail I can't recount how many times I saw grown adults walk into the store with their card in hand [yes loose, weird to me too] and put the card they're holding IN THEIR MOUTH TO USE THE HAND SANITIZER. This was about the time where masks were not mandatory [in the very beginning], and in Ontario liquor stores are deemed an essential service/ government job so we were open the whole time. The chaos was insane. Anyway love to both of you, thanks for the stories lol
One of my NDIS support workers has some very subtle and cute face tattoos. They're very simple and not hugely noticeable. She has a government job. So, not true.... but, some of the more extreme will prevent you getting certain jobs but not all.
I was so excited yesterday till I realised that the video would drop today. So happy to see you two doing a collab again! The peaches will be given the Darjeeling treatment 🔥
That one about ads on TH-cam videos reaalllyy seems to be true. All of the big ones (betterhelp, established titles, airup, raycons, FUM, TEMU, and probably more that I can’t think of) are all scams.
I think bigger person thing should be pick your battles. So definitly stand up for yourself if you have the energy and feel safe to. Otherwise just do whats best for you. Also it can often be easier to stand up for someone else than yourself, so that part isnt true.
36:17. I still work in retail. I went to use the washroom at work one time and omg. It was DISGUSTING. There was literal piss EVERYWHERE. All I’ve the walls, the toilet seat, the top of the toilet, in the sink, INSIDE the toilet paper dispenser, all over the floor. It’s like the person just spun around in circles as they were peeing. I was SO mad. Like who does that?
Roly: Would it be incest if it was a clone? The selfcest tag: 👀👀 But also yes bank holidays. We call them national holidays here and it kind of depends what company you work for, but generally most businesses are open for all holidays no matter what. Sometimes they’ll close early on thanksgiving or xmas, open late on new year’s. But there is no rest in retail/foodbev.
I didn't have an official cake at my wedding - I just had a cake table for people to bring their cake offerings. I just know I have a lot of friends and family who love baking and wanted to contribute to the wedding but I didn't want to pick one of them to make an official cake, so I just told everyone that they could bring a cake if they wanted to. There were so many cakes and it was great!
Yeah, still irritated with the amount of advertising just....everywhere. which is why I don't really watch tv anymore and I make use of adblockers while online.
I feel like the person who's worried about the safety of theme park restraints watched too many of those videos about ride disasters. Sometimes some companies cut safety corners for money, but it doesn't happen as often as those videos make it sound like it happens. I could understand if someone who didn't like thrill rides wished theme parks would stop chasing the next big roller coaster and make more rides for people who don't like roller coasters, though.
I thought the same thing, cause there's loads of them on TH-cam and even on reddit and various web sites. I have a fear of heights thus a fear of coasters and even I will try a new coaster at least once, after a good 20- 30 minutes of building up the nerve to get on.🤣🤣 now if it's for a small space, like crawling thru a tunnel in a cave, that I cannot over come, I tried and I failed. I feel bad for that person tho cause they must bot do much of anything at all with their lives having that much fear.
I agree with you on the it’s okay to do nice things for yourself and enjoy life even if you’re making a little less. What isn’t okay is when it’s all you do. I used to have a friend who spends 500$ a week on takeout, 300$ on vape pens and complains about how she can’t pay her bills. I’m on a fixed income, with a disability and have not once been behind on a bill. Her car got repossessed because she wasn’t paying it and she said it “isn’t fair she has to pay bills she has kids to support” but she’s not supporting them, other people are she asks everyone in her life for money so she can buy vapes and takeout but not for the kids the kids get ramen noodles or spaghetti-o’s. I have not seen them cook once since she and her partner got married. I gave her quick recipes that are a nice balanced meal, she told me I’m being “mean” when I told her only consuming ramen isn’t good for her kid and that he’s gaining weight. Heart issues and diabetes runs in her family. They live in one of the best areas with the highest rated school in the state. It’s infuriating that they’re struggling because they are lazy and addicted to vaping.
I found the theme park opinion quite interesting, it sparked a memory when Roly was talking about how everything in life comes with risks, and that in roller-coaster its like 1 in a million. Well I think I might have been a that one, I once went on an 100 year old roller-coaster, the only thing holding you in was a metal bar pressed against your body, it wiggled when I leant forward, the ride was at least 30 metres off the ground in the lowest areas, easy enough to break several bones should you fall, and I very nearly would have if it wasn't for a friend behind me that almost strangled me with my own shirt collar just to keep me inside the carriage. And this didnt happen very long ago, I definatly feel that rides now days are quite safe, but it does show how important it is to check up on the saftey and funtion of the ride frequently.
I work 8-5 out of necessity and am completely happy with it. Financial stability is a HUGE load off my mind. If I had my druthers, it'd be graveyard shift, but like you said, it's about reality.
I really hate it when people preface their comments with "unpopular opinion" or "hot take". I never understood the point. It reminds me of "I'm going to get downvoted for this, but" What is the purpose of telling people how they're going to react to your thoughts before they hear your thoughts.
To Shaaba’s comment about Tesco, there’s only one grocery shop in my little town so any time it’s going to be closed 1 day people are in there shopping like it’s closing for a fortnight
With face tattoos, I have a kind of uncommon opinion. I think that as long as it isn’t something incredibly graphic (nsfw, etc.), then it shouldn’t impact whether or not you get a job or anything. While realistically speaking it probably will impact it, and I think people getting tattoos on their neck and face should consider that, I personally don’t think it should matter.
I really appreciate what you guys said about "being the bigger person" and how sometimes defending yourself or just going no contact is the right thing to do. I've had the experience of people telling me that I need to speak to certain people even though they've been horrible to me, just because I should be nice and "they won't be around forever" and all that stuff. Sometimes it really is better to just stay away from people and protect yourself IMO.
Last year I was at a marijuana dispensary here in the USA and my budtender had "DESPAIR" tattooed across his forehead. He got a forward facing retail job with that tattoo. I was at least a little taken aback. Choices, girls.
Belonging, fitting in, is so very important to people. How do we fit in? With name brand items, tattoos, fancy cars, etc. I’ve worked with underserved and poverty populations. Sometimes money is spent on “extras” to fit in with others.
i think it is incest if it’s a clone because identical twins are technically natural clones of each other and we consider them siblings, so…your sci-fi clone would be no different genetically than someone’s identical twin sibling
Yes there are two official definitions of taint. 1. A synonym of pollute and 2. Having a small bit of something undesirable. The "vulgar" definition is a colloquial term for the perineum.
My cousins went on a lot of vacations they arguably couldn't afford, then quit speaking to the rest of the family after we weren't "supportive" enough of a chronic and ultimately fatal illness. There wasn't really anything we could do for him either.
Unless he got the illness from his travels, I don’t really see how these two things are related. Just because you do not agree with someone’s choices doesn’t mean you cannot support them in illness.
@@s.a.4358 more a matter of we didn't know HOW to support them, versus not wanting to offer support. They travelled to another city for treatment, and we couldn't afford to travel there.
12:10 this blanket statement definitely isn't true for every company. It really does vary based on a company to company basis. A small company that makes plushies and a large company that "offers online health services" can both work with a youtuber but only one actively harms its users/therapists and has lost a lawsuit.
16:43 I've learned enough about New Zealand that my opinion on face tattoos is that only moko are acceptable. And you don't just go out and get a tā moko (the traditional Māori face tattoo), you have to be _given_ it _for a reason._ Like, it's a sign that you have the respect of your community.
36:24 similar to Roly’s story about closing the toilets down. When I was in high school all the toilets got closed for a while because people were flushing sweaters, taking the bolted-down mirrors off the wall, and smearing 💩 all around the bathroom. It was insane.
In some slight defense of the whole argument of brands being sponsored, I can understand on both sides? Because for TH-camrs, these advertisements can actually help them and some these people genuinely like! but at the same time, there's been not one but several cases of companies and brands who make stuff that TH-camrs still will push on their channel that have become notorious for not being great and some TH-camrs who outright have talked about brands they will NOT collaborate with [For whatever reasons they state] I cant speak for everyone but some I think its generally a fear and worry that these products arent actually going to live up to their names despite what the youtube says. Regardless, that was just my take from the video and its always interesting to hear yall's side of how you think about this stuff!! Esp for someone who does youtube for a living :)
More often than not, regardless of the quality of a product, companies know TH-camrs need money and will take advantage of their desperation and the empathy of the viewers.
@@AnimeLuver0604 That as well n I think its what makes this whole thing such a slippery slope for both sides. Cuz I'm sure there's genuine companies and TH-camrs who want to suggest things that they like. But knowing just how many of these companies just outright don't care you cant be surprised when people say this type of stuff yknow? [That being companies who rely on TH-camrs aren't gonna give you great stuff] Prop saying a lot more then is entirely needed but just made me think a lot was all lmao
To me the point is, if you just spent $800£ (whichever) on a tattoo, you don't get to complain in the next breath about being poor and not having any money. You're basically spending yourself into poverty. I believe the phrase is "living a champagne life on a beer budget". Or something similar.
As someone who grew up extremely poor - one of six kids sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag at my grandmother's four bedroom, one bathroom house with about 12 other people for 7 years, poor - all I can ask is that you seriously check your privilege. If you have never known true poverty, and people with this type of opinion almost never seem to, then you don't get to judge. A person working two jobs should be more than able to make ends meet and afford to splurge every now and then. The fact that a person can't is more likely a systematic issue than a moral one. You cannot budget your way out of poverty. If that is news to you, please take the time to educate yourself on the subject. Please do better.
@@tris5602 no you can't budget your way out of poverty, but you can sure spend your way into poverty by spending way more than you're bringing in. And priorities!! If someone spends 800£ on a tattoo, which is not a necessity, and then doesn't have money for food that's on them. And in that case they don't have a right to cry about not having any money.
I think it would be frustrating to see a friend living above their means, because friends are expected to support each other and be sympathetic. The problem is largely of their own making, but it would be a drain on you as well. So I think it does go beyond "their money, their choice" if they are making unwise choices and buying things they can't afford. It may even be kinder to try to get them to change. To be clear, I'm not talking about people in actual poverty or anyone who is struggling with day-to-day life expenses. I'm talking about people who would buy designer clothes or expensive electronics that they can't afford. I understand that there are systemic problems and addictions and all sorts of other circumstances, but there are also people who spend unwisely and get into trouble.
@@alex_blue5802 that was my point. Having seen this sort of thing first hand. Blowing money on non-essentials before taking care of things like rent, food, utilities and such; then borrowing from friends because they didn't have enough money. Frustrating.
Regarding wedding, my friends had a marquee tent in a nature reserve, food trucks and fun little games like lawn balls, badminton and had drinks it coloured plastic buckets around the area free for all. I’m a baker and for their wedding they wanted cupcakes, each table lined up and the bride and groom stood at the cake table and give them out so they could a moment to talk to everyone and take photos. 16:52 I have 2 cute face tattoos, temple area on each side. I just got hired at a high-end clothing store. They sell $5k suits kind of high-end. I honestly didn't know how the interview would go, but I was hired at the rate I asked for, they emailed me making the formal offer in less than 12 hours. So, they took me seriously. Made my day.
sometimes you have to stand up for yourself. however, when I was too timid to stand up for myself, I would be able to stand up for others much more easily. maybe because I thought that I didn't matter as much. just saying not everybody who is timid or whatever, doesn't mean that they would let others be picked upon.
Ok I watched until the 'is it incest if it's a clone?' part and I thought I could put the biology degree I'm working for right now to good use!! From the perspective of offspring production, mating with a clone would be incest, actually worse than incest because you are the most genetically related to you! It was ahhhmazing!
Poor people need to have fun once in a while too.
sucks that we live in a system that this is necessary, but also sounds like you’re making great parenting choices 💛
Lol the incest question had me cackling bc my bestie has an identical twin sister and HATES three "would you sleep with your clone" question bc in her words "i do have a clone and that's my SISTER 😭😭😭"
the sibling element definitely adds a different FLAVOUR 🥸
There are a lot of other options, however, that work better for some people who have suffered abuse in the past and tend to fall back on a "fawn" response, quickly spiraling into coping via old, triggered behavior ("Gray Rocking" is one of my favorites.)
The most important outcome, in my mind, is that folks can walk away with their self-respect and boundaries intact. Patrick Teahan has some great videos about dealing with (and healing from) people who move about in the world with little to no respect for others. And none of the options require "going low", as some people say, to feel safe.
@TreC587 Good to see another Patrick Teahan fan out in the wild!

I do love people that have actually read that book lol
There's some debate as to whether this is the "true" saying. Some believe it's actually a modern reinterpretation spread on the internet.
Yes, this!! I love pointing that one out. My other favorite is the whole “the road less traveled,” the point of the poem is literally that neither road was really better than the other, but what you choose in the moment makes all the difference in life bc you can’t go back and choose something else.
Same with the saying “Great minds think alike” The ending of that was actually “though fools seldom differ”
Being the bigger person is more about choosing your battles because some people aren't worth used toilet paper in a gas station toilet, let alone an hour of your energy.
Agree!
02:30 - I feel like this is unintentionally mildly transphobic. Because a lot of trans people need hormones and surgeries in order to feel comfortable in their own skin which means that they are happier which, in my opinion, is the best glow up you can have: to be happier in yourself.
I agree 100% that’s what I was thinking too.
I am naive, I thought they meant that glow ups are supposed to be temporary things, basically they want a different word for long term glow ups.
I love the BHS cutaway, luxeria truly looks unhinged🤣🤣🤣
I haven’t used it for so long it made me happy I could put it in somewhere.
I love it too! Hilarious!! 😂😂😂
But that doesn't mean you have to be ok with that in your culture. Every culture has it's own does and dont's, always been this way.

It’s just beyond what I can comprehend and honestly working in this field has really changed how I view other people.
Thanks for the laughs as usual.

I didn't know what the hell those older Christian ladies were doing in there but they needed to stop. I had to get a coworker to help cuz a few times it was too much for me to handle. Do these people do this in their own bathrooms too? The hell are they thinking?

Oh absolutely
the one about brands sponsoring youtubers is honestly true... let's see, established titles, air up, better help, raycon, nord vpn, seat geek and many others are either scams, dont deliver the standard of quality they promise or are just garbage in general.
some brands sponsoring some creators make sense. but a LOT of the big ones are shit.

I think that was the main problem in that story.
It’s a symbol of kindness, love, compassion, community…
That always included LGBT+.
@@dietotaku
“then their homophobia has rotten their brain” 😂
I do have a tiny bit to add.
Just realised my 1st reply was deleted.
It was a lot like the first part of what @dietotaku said.
I dont think Jesus was very scientific. However, squatting for Jesus is a fun past time!!!
32:45 I disgusts me that theres anyone who doesnt close the lid. I literally have a note above my toilet telling any visitors to close the lid before they flush. I feel so strongly about this
Yes! Nevermind not putting the seat down, be hygienic & put the lid AND seat down! 😂👌
Already corrupting the poor innocent shaaba haha. Shes adorable x

Spoiling us with all these collabs recently! Love the different dynamics!!
Yes! I’m making it a mission this year to try and get more collabs and different people in x
I hate the idea of "you should just take the abuse until your abusers get bored".
I agree with Roly that within reason it's fine.
I LOVE that y'all are lovely "melodies" together!!! You and Lux are the same "note", and of course amazing together.

hehehe a little Shaaba-Roly harmony!
Hope you enjoy
I feel sooo welcomed back, thanks so much for having me again! Happy we had a friend over!

Its so cool to see Shaaba and Roly together!! Their energy is so fun!
Like who does that?
i read the crush one and was so confused cause like how was it not good when his past crush said she felt it too at the time.
I think "it could have been if I'd just been a little braver," would feel awful.
Roly: Would it be incest if it was a clone?
The selfcest tag: 👀👀
But also yes bank holidays. We call them national holidays here and it kind of depends what company you work for, but generally most businesses are open for all holidays no matter what. Sometimes they’ll close early on thanksgiving or xmas, open late on new year’s. But there is no rest in retail/foodbev.
😅😅😅
I didn't have an official cake at my wedding - I just had a cake table for people to bring their cake offerings. I just know I have a lot of friends and family who love baking and wanted to contribute to the wedding but I didn't want to pick one of them to make an official cake, so I just told everyone that they could bring a cake if they wanted to. There were so many cakes and it was great!
Yeah, still irritated with the amount of advertising just....everywhere. which is why I don't really watch tv anymore and I make use of adblockers while online.
34:55 just a note on the gloves, idk about those people but I wore them bc I have sores on my hands and viruses can be transmitted via open wounds.
There's a fine line between psychotic energy and PhD's vibes with Roly and Shaaba!!! Awesome Collab.
Yeah there is treating yourself which is fair enough, & then there is just refusing to live within your means & expecting life to be a party.
Omg Roly and Shaaba!!! Never before have I seen these two wonderful people together!! Love to see it! 🖤💜🖤
Have such a good time filming together
A duo I never knew I needed getting me through my day. Stay fabulous!
Glad you enjoyed x
It reminds me of "I'm going to get downvoted for this, but"
What is the purpose of telling people how they're going to react to your thoughts before they hear your thoughts.
Love you Roly!!💜💜 Love you Shaaba!!🩷🩷🍑🍑 So happy you both dropped the Collabs on the same day!!😊😊
Yay! Thank you! 🙏🏻

I know Roly is meant to be high energy content but he literally helps me fall asleep at night. I find these videos so calming, anyone else?

We will for sure make more together soon
Last year I was at a marijuana dispensary here in the USA and my budtender had "DESPAIR" tattooed across his forehead. He got a forward facing retail job with that tattoo. I was at least a little taken aback. Choices, girls.
Belonging, fitting in, is so very important to people. How do we fit in? With name brand items, tattoos, fancy cars, etc. I’ve worked with underserved and poverty populations. Sometimes money is spent on “extras” to fit in with others.
y’all have such a good dynamic
I absolutely love filming with her
i think it is incest if it’s a clone because identical twins are technically natural clones of each other and we consider them siblings, so…your sci-fi clone would be no different genetically than someone’s identical twin sibling
The real questions of our time
Ooh Roly and shaaba ,would love a lux ,Roly ,Shaaba and Jamie video , imagine
I’d love to make a big collab but it’s hard to fit us all together
@@RolyWestYT true , that's fair enough
Yes there are two official definitions of taint. 1. A synonym of pollute and 2. Having a small bit of something undesirable.
The "vulgar" definition is a colloquial term for the perineum.
I'm so glad Jamie and Shaaba have been making sure Roly doesn't get lonely living alone for the first time.
Well that was a twist.
12:10 this blanket statement definitely isn't true for every company. It really does vary based on a company to company basis. A small company that makes plushies and a large company that "offers online health services" can both work with a youtuber but only one actively harms its users/therapists and has lost a lawsuit.
“Those people are happy and not wet.” 😂😂😂
Yay, a new video! Just what I needed today! This is going to be so interesting and fun! ☺️
Hope you enjoy lovely!
the youtuber crossover i always hoped for!!! love you guys

I've always 'enjoyed' the irony of working on labor day
I found Shabba and Jamie through Roly so having 2 videos by 2 of my favourites in one day always makes me happy ❤❤
Not me stopping the video to look for that thesis ;)
I love this Collab !!
Yaasss
Any chance to put a clip of "IM NEVER SHOPPING AT BHS AGAIN!" Llooovveee itt!!!! 😂
Sometimes the simple things make the event
this sounds soooo cute!!
15:33 i didn't know that there was a time when TH-cam didn't have ads and TH-camrs weren't paid
Yes Roly and Shaaba collab! 💞
❤️❤️❤️
Ok I watched until the 'is it incest if it's a clone?' part and I thought I could put the biology degree I'm working for right now to good use!! From the perspective of offspring production, mating with a clone would be incest, actually worse than incest because you are the most genetically related to you! I love your channels, Roly and Shaaba!
