Not gonna lie, this reaction took me like 3 hours to get through. I had to pause and go and sing through every song several times before continuing on in the video. Hey Billy, if the spirit moves you to sing, SING BILLY, our Angel of Music. 😂

The Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey version of "When You Believe" is unmatched. If anyone enjoys this movie (BILLY) you should go listen to that version. Much love, everyone ❤✌🏾
When I was younger, I loved their version. However now that I’m much older, I can’t ignore how annoying and incessant riffing was in music back then. Now the song is kinda “meh” to me 😅
what i love about moses’ face after the dad says “they were only slaves” is that it mirrors how he was addressing miriam when he called her a slave. too bad he found out he’s got that slave blood in him too after all. a very dark epiphany.
You can really see his thought process there. "You killed children and you didn't care. I was one of those children, you would have killed me, and you *would not have cared.* "
Just in case you didn’t put it together, the slave girl that Moses meets at the well, the one who says “You are our brother,” was speaking literally. She is the same little girl who followed the basket down the river at the start of the movie. I didn’t realize it until the second time I saw the movie, but maybe I’m just slow.
The lullaby song feels like a punch to the heart everytime it plays! Being adopted I knew this movie was a masterpiece When I saw it in theatres. 13:29 "sacrifices?" His eyes say a thousand words! The fact Dreamworks had everything to lose and was able to put this quality out was beautiful. The fact Dreamworks company gave us this and then 2 Boss Baby movies is stunning. Thankfully The Last Wish cheering effect ripples through their animation department. The screens going on the arcade machines are distracting but that's probably just my ADD. Can't wait to see what you create next brother (: 🕊️
I highly recommend Spirit Stallion Of The Cimarron. It’s another dreamworks film that came out in the early 2000s. The songs in that one were incredible as well and I think you would really like it #bingers
It brings me so much joy seeing people experience this film, and give the appreciation this movie deserves! Whether you are religious or not it is a work of art 😊
Also loved how Moses staff swallowed both of the demon snakes whole and how they portrayed it in shadow. Really illustrates how we can miss the TRUTH when we are distracted by performance
growing up this was one of my favorite movies, i didn't even know it was a religious film until i was older. the music always moved me to joyful tears, and it still rings true now. this is an absolutely amazing piece of art and i'm sooooo happy you finally got to feel that spirit too billy!
Those involved took a lot of care from the animators (especially when it comes to parting the Red Sea) to the production going to different lengths to tell a captivating story that reached people regardless of religious or non religious beliefs. It didn’t come off as “preachy” or “childish” in their storytelling. The music is so beautiful and several outstanding singers contributed as well.
Considering that I grew up watching this movie almost every year, it's embarrassing that it took hearing Billy mention how he was glad the animation changed for the massacre of the firstborn for me to understand WHY they changed the animation into something even more kid-friendly. I always just accepted that Moses fell alseep and started dreaming about history because he fell asleep in front of the wall
This is my son’s Favorite Movie. He is 3 years old and the music totally moves him but it’s the emotion of the characters that make him fall so deep into it. Funny thing is he loves You too Billy!!!! I can’t watch this video without him putting it on rewind so he can watch your intro over and over again and he was smiling that you were watching his favorite movie with him
Fun fact that not a lot of people notice, in the Red Sea when the fish swim past... that is not a whale, they don't have dorsal fins... that is a Megalodon Shark right there.
Yes you should ABSOLUTELY watch Joseph King of Dreams. It's of the book of Genesis and is a direct prequel to the events that lead up to this film The Prince of Egypt. It has amazing songs and is well made. Also the language they were singing in was Hebrew, as the slaves were called the Hebrews which come from Eber, a descendent of Shem, aka the Semitic people
It took me so long to watch this movie because of religious trauma, but this is probably my favourite "kids'" movie. The vocals, the score, story, animation, and just how everything comes together in one beautiful masterpiece. I have Deliver Us on my main playlist, and everyone thinks it's a joke song for me to put it there, but it tickles my brain the right way😭😌

I certainly recommend checking out Joseph King of Dreams! I had less of a budget than this film, but they still knocked it out of the park. It's sort of a "prequel" in historical line up for the bible, since it tells the story of how Moses' people GOT to Egypt in the first place. It's also got some bomb singing and voice acting and the story is really touching. The only "downside" is the animation quality is not nearly as masterful as The Prince of Egypt. BUT it's still pretty great.
And then Moses came down from Mount Sinai, saw what the Israelites were up to and said, "DISHONOR! DISHONOR ON YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!! DISHONOR ON YOU!!! DISHONOR ON YOUR COW!!!!"
This film had me in a chokehold as a child tbh, I used to be putting my baby dolls in cardboard boxes pushing them down a rug playing like the mom in the first scene 😂😂😂
My grandmother took me to see this movie in theaters when I was 4 years old back when we were living in Granada Hills. I remember ended up falling asleep near the end as it was like a long 2 hour movie but I love putting it on and rewatching it as I have it on Apple TV. They did a great job putting this tale of Moses together.
Don't worry, America was one of the earliest countries to abolish slavery. There are still many countries today that still have the tradition of slavery
@Real_Genji Don't worry? America was built off of it, and even though it isn't traditional slavery, America has it's own new form of slavery like the "justice system" and using the police force. Not to mention how deeply systematic racism is. It's just slavery in another form.
The Prince of Egypt is literally one of the most amazing movie experiences I've ever had in my entire life! And the craziest part is that the movie's budget was only $60 million!!! Yo!!! Definitely watch 'Joseph King Of Dreams' It's basically the prequel to this movie and though it's not as 'epic' because it's about the family that started the nation off and how they got to Egypt, where as this is about the nation leaving Egypt hundreds of years later. The Joseph film is much more going from a family dynamics to things on a grander scale, but only the beginnings. The songs are great and for me I actually listen to them more often. #Bilybinges

I'm an atheist and this movie still moves me with its beauty. Another Dreamworks film that I love is "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron." #Bingers
Val Kilmer voiced God in the burning bush... they overdubbed him several times to give it the effect ...
Actually it’s the whole cast voicing god.
@@calebray1834 they didn't want to cause drama by saying one actor was playing God, so all the actors whispered the lines, but Val Kilmer's is the voice you hear clearly and then he is overdubbed with the other voice... what i said...
Another cool thing is that the errant woman’s voice who whispers out of sync with the rest is the voice of his mother.

OMG IM SO HAPPY YOU'RE WATCHING THIS!! it's a Dreamworks masterpiece 🥰
My all time favorite 2D dreamworks.
It’s my favourite movie of all time.
The language was Hebrew (when you believe) and this is the translation:
A-shir-ra la-do-nai ki ga-oh ga-ah (I will sing to the Lord for He has triumphed gloriously)
A-shir-ra la-do-nai ki ga-oh ga-ah (I will sing to the Lord for He has triumphed gloriously)
Mi-cha-mo-cha ba-e-lim adonai (Who is like You, oh Lord, among the celestials)
Mi-cha-mo-cha ne-dar-ba-ko-desh (Who is like You, majestic in holiness)
Na-chi-tah v'-chas-d'-cha am zu ga-al-ta (In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed)
Na-chi-tah v'-chas-d'-cha am zu ga-al-ta (In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed)
A-shi-ra, a-shi-ra, A-shi-ra (I will sing, I will sing, I will sing)
And the song every person says that its a Christian song but the truth is it's Hebrew and this movie is about passover and how the jews were set free by god, moses and gods miracles
@@Samuel-wd7wm I mean Jesus was a Jew 💀
@@Samuel-wd7wm it can be applied to christians too tho
Yes it does apply to Christians as well
And if I am correctly I think Muslims as well.
This movie is underrated. Soundtrack alone is a masterpiece
Seriously, the DreamWorks music scores from hanz Zimmerman and Co go unbelievably hard
This Movie had three official CD Soundtracks, Songs heard in the Film, Covers by Country Artists and Original Score ( Hans Zimmer) 💿 🎶 🍿
#binger you should watch the karate kid with jaden smith and Jackie Chan
Country artists? Which ones?
I had those!
What about the inspirational album?
The 🐐
The basket stronger than the Titanic because they mocked and said "even God can't sink this ship" 💁🏽♀️ it is what it is
Never thought about it like that thank you for s suggesting it to me and others❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I know God does some messed up shit (like killing a bunch of Egyptian children in this movie), but killing 700 innocents because an engineer bragged seems evil, even for Him.
Nah, plot Armor

Fun fact: for these older movies they hired actual voice actors and not celebrities and influencers. That’s why all the characters are voiced so well.
Other movies yes… but this movie was filled with celebrity actors. Val Kilmer, Ralph Fiennes, Sandra Bullock, Patrick Stewart, Michelle Pfieffer, Martin Short, Steve Martin, Jeff Goldblum
I feel the need to point out that this movie was mostly voiced by celebrities...
@@Aventura459 do you know why they are celebrities? Voice acting and acting. I’m talking about celebrities from completely different fields like pop stars
@@Aventura459yeah Sandra Bullock and Jeff Goldblum was in this. And Voldemort was the voice of Ramses.
@@calebray1834as well as Steve Martin and Martin Short as Ramses’ men
Fun Fact: the voice of God is actually voiced by most/the whole of the cast. They just decided to make Val Kilmer's voice (Moses) louder. If you listen closely in the burning bush scene, you can hear the rest of the cast in a whisper.
“Deliver us” is to one this day one of the best intro songs EVER WRITTEN
The song traumatized me as a kid and it still does
Never stop singing! That was so delightful to watch your joy while you reacted to this. This is such a beautiful movie and I am so glad you enjoyed it.
For all the Non-Christians or non religious folks here like me this movie shows what happens when you let the heart and soul of the story flow versus focusing on preaching and ham-fisting your beliefs down the audiences throat trying to prove yourself right.
end credits: There Can Be Miracles ~Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston ... classic, squashed the supposed beef between them ... like there is any need to compare those two angelic voices
One of my favorite songs of all time!
Yes, the song When You Believe is beautiful. Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston did their thing on that song.
There was no beef jesus stop saying that 🙄
@@aliyaheubanks4477 that's why i said "supposed" ...are you denying that the media tried to create a competition between the two of them? ..i saw interviews with both of them where that type of question was asked...
@@ginahouston9352 The beef was exactly as you put it, "media created". The media did the same thing with Brandy vs Monica, not to mention the whole East Coast-West Coast hip hop beef was all media influenced. Christina Aguilera vs Britney Spears and Nsync vs Backstreet Boys are two more examples of this.
That's something that has happened for decades. Michael Jackson vs Prince was created in a big way by the media. Michael was actually a big fan of Prince's and even Prince admitted later in life he enjoyed Michael's work.

I believe the royal sceptre (the cane the Pharaoh was carrying) is a representation of Pharaoh’s rule/power …. The British Monarch also have similar attire sometimes to what I remember
Not gonna lie, this reaction took me like 3 hours to get through. I had to pause and go and sing through every song several times before continuing on in the video. Hey Billy, if the spirit moves you to sing, SING BILLY, our Angel of Music. 😂
Fun fact: Back when Jeffery Katzenberg (the CEO of Dreamworks) worked for Disney, he wanted to do an adaptation of the story of Moses but Michael Eisner (then CEO of Disney) rejected it for religious reasons.
easily one of the best movie soundtracks. literally eats.
Watching people watch POE is unmatched, it is so amazing like it’s in its own tier
the sadness in rameses’ face when he realizes moses rlly only returned for his ppl and not for his lost brother… and then the way his eyes harden with hatred. god, this movie is so so good. i grew up watching this and yes it has one of my absolute favorite sound tracks and visual animations.
Now the song is kinda “meh” to me 😅
@@TheMan21892u no nth because the song is perfect 👌

FINALLY LOL I'm glad you finally watched this masterpiece!!
Dreamworks also made The Prince of Dreams, which is about Joseph! I never see people mention it but i watched it even more than thsi one growing up
what i love about moses’ face after the dad says “they were only slaves” is that it mirrors how he was addressing miriam when he called her a slave. too bad he found out he’s got that slave blood in him too after all. a very dark epiphany.

The voice of Ramses is Voldemort!!

@giovanmorabonilla6400 yep yep! The singing voice too!
We watch this film every Pesach (Passover). We sing the Hebrew version of "When You Believe" during the Seder.
Its one of my favorite movies.
So excited you watched this!! Its been one of my #bingers for the longest! Hopefully Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is next 👀
YESSS
Not to mention the road to el dorado and sinbad: legend of the seven seas.
Also the language they were singing in was Hebrew, as the slaves were called the Hebrews which come from Eber, a descendent of Shem, aka the Semitic people
Joseph King of Dreams doesn’t have the same weight as Prince of Egypt, mainly because it had a much smaller budget. But I think it’s worth a watch
It took me so long to watch this movie because of religious trauma, but this is probably my favourite "kids'" movie. The vocals, the score, story, animation, and just how everything comes together in one beautiful masterpiece. I have Deliver Us on my main playlist, and everyone thinks it's a joke song for me to put it there, but it tickles my brain the right way😭😌
So many times, we wish that we can experience something for the first time, which is why I love watching Billy. I always get the sensation of experiencing some of my favorite films through fresh eyes and genuine excitement.
The Prince of Egypt is my all time #1 favorite movie because of the animation, music and the cast

Well thanks for clearing that up and he was in the bible even tho the torah is way older than the bible
DISHONOR ON YOUR COW!!!!"
hahahaha yooooo. thank you for the laughter damnn
What were they doing? 😆
Worshipping a Golden Calf
This film had me in a chokehold as a child tbh, I used to be putting my baby dolls in cardboard boxes pushing them down a rug playing like the mom in the first scene 😂😂😂
You are fucking WILD 😂😂😂

My grandmother took me to see this movie in theaters when I was 4 years old back when we were living in Granada Hills. I remember ended up falling asleep near the end as it was like a long 2 hour movie but I love putting it on and rewatching it as I have it on Apple TV. They did a great job putting this tale of Moses together.
I wish they would just give us the rerelease of the prince of Egypt as a 25th or 30th anniversary in the theaters.
Beautiful is what I would call this movie but that isn't enough means to describe how much attention to detail and emotion this movie made me feel.

#Bilybinges

What's ALSO cool about this movie (aside from being, you know, a phenomenal piece of art) is that it was heralded by well-known, worldwide leaders from all three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) as a faithful and respectful adaptation of the original story of Passover in the book of Exodus.
Fun fact the song “When You Believe” was also sung officially by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston in the soundtrack, u HAVE to listen or react to that version!!❤
