HELLO ALL: John’s DIY lids are awesome. The colors match the bases nicely and they are super functional. He’s had enough experience to know exactly what was needed to accommodate USB powered instruments. All of that is DEFINITELY worth the minimal investment. I've always wanted sea monkeys as a kid. Purchasing them as an adult and raising them is just as fun!
Was talking to my friend and mentioned how I want sea monkeys.

Once upon a time I kept seeing sea monkeys on TikTok and was wondering what the heck they were. Then eventually I wanted some sea monkeys myself. I tried to convince my parents to get me some by making a slideshow, and it worked! I kept them alive for almost a year! Thanks to you I have learned so much about sea monkeys.

Yeah so much of that stuff is basically invisible to the naked eye! It’s always a surprise seeing how much is going on once I take a look under the microscope

I like the magnifying bubbles. Not all of us have fancy equipment for when we want a closer view of our sea monkeys. I agree that the shape of the newer tanks is better. I would have got it for my first tank if I was aware of it, but I was also drawn in by the glow in the dark bottom.

My son Finn is 7 years old and he loves his sea monkeys! He has 2 tanks as of right now. Him and his Mom tried to make a 2 gallon tank, but after adding in the adult SeaMonkeys from his pther tank, they all passed away and he was so upset. I'm not sure what went wrong, but he is determined to take care of the SeaMonkeys he has now. He loves your videos, and he watches all of them! Thank you

Yeah! I was chatting with Tod when he was putting the new manual together and he asked if I wanted to supply some of my photos :) it’s really cool seeing them in print now 😀
It’s the first time in Se-Monkey history the handbook has been in all color and included photos of the actual creatures. John’s macro photography is a huge bonus addition. Absolutely beautiful. ❤❤❤

Originally wasn't interested in sea monkeys thinking they would just be too much of a pain to keep alive due to previous stories I've heard from people who had them as a kid. Ah that's super cool! Tbh I've always found it a little odd that Sea-Monkeys have been considered a "kids toy" when really it's not all that different from the rest of the aquarium hobby. Glad to hear you've got back into them :D

Love the channel and its great you updated the lid and have it up for sale! When you revealed the original lid I immediately imagined hacking it apart with scissors to fit all the attachments.
Haha yeah that’s what I used to do! Modifying the old lid actually works reasonably well, it just doesn’t look particularly nice 😅

Brings back memories
I've considered getting into the hobby every since I started watching your videos, and I can say that the Ocean Volcano has always been the one I said i'd get. That little bit of extra surface area makes it much easier to watch them swim around and the magnifying bubbles take up less of the overall viewing surface.

Oh man, every once in a while I love to just do a deep dive into watching people with these types of kits. I wanted them as a kid but never got them, but they look super interesting! There was a channel on twitch that livestreamed neocaridina shrimps that I could watch for hours and your videos fill that void.

This channel realllly entices me to keep sea-monkeys. I especially want to find fairy shrimp in the wild, that would be so cool! I might have to keep them some time too.
I just got one of these tanks recently, and I love it. I've modded mine myself; the 'volcano' now lights up (remote controlled!) and I put a notch in the lid for the heater cord and airline. It's a great little tank and I'm very pleased with it! Sadly my kit didn't come with the care booklet, but the instructions paper folded up to fit. I suppose that must vary by country. Oh well.

I always had a passive interest in sea monkeys but now that I have a saltwater aquarium i can fully understand the love that people can have for these little animals. It has to be crazy rewarding to see your ecosystem grow so quickly :)

The Sea-Monkey Ocean Volcano 🌋 tank is great 👍 for people like me who have a smaller window sill. The base seems like it would fit moreover than the traditional. I think 🤔 the next time I set one up, I want to try this one. Awesome 🤩 video as always. Thanks 😊

so nice to know that sea monkeys are still a thing! i had the classic ocean zoo one when I was a kid but I always wanted the castle or any of the themed ones! I remember it was really important to all my friends what colour the lid of the tank was lol. I think mine was green. but now I think the pink friendship bracelet tank is the coolest!

I kinda get the feeling they're more interested in marketing these products towards kids for a quick one off rather than encouraging people to care for them properly. Hopefully that changes though 🤞

I had sea monkeys as a kid...a few times, actually. It's been years and years since I even thought of them. Then your channel popped up out of the blue. I just watched your beaver tail video and became totally fascinated! I live in Las Vegas, near Red Rock apparently, during rainy season, has it's own native population of fairy shrimp. Definitely, something for me to look into. Thanks for the great video!!!
