    This is what makes watching these instructional videos fun. Any other scientist-like specialist would use technical terms. Nope, it's a "special barf bag"! That made me smile.
    I do like that the bag comes with its own built-in towel for wiping your face off. Necessity is the mother of invention. The first vomiter must have been like, "Crap, I feel better, but now I made a mess!" These bags need to include a towel!"

    The problem with internet from space is the distance you have to send the signals. The speed of light is fast, but not as fast as you might think. The signals also have to get bounced around multiple satellites sometimes. Apparently the speed is somewhere in the region of 10mbit/s but the latency is, at worst, 1.2s.

    Lots of reasons: Firing something out would cause recoil on the station which could push it slightly out of orbit, not by much but you wouldn't want to be doing it all the time.
    You would lose oxygen every time you fired something out.
    The trash would be a hazard for future space missions.

    By peristaltic movements in your body. It also explaines why people are able to drink water while upside down. The reason they do not eat a lot of food could be because they float all the time, so the body does not need much power from the muscles.

    Possibly for medical diagnosis if needed? You wouldn't want to overlook certain things like blood or other discharges in the emesis (vomit). This obviously wouldn't apply to just being nauseous.

    I was wondering if astronauts ever get sick, apart from motion sickness? Do they get colds, the flu etc? I know they are only deemed flight worthy if they are in perfect health, but is there a common space station sickness that get spread around?

  • @Sallyallie89
    @Sallyallie89 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    He did a video on this already. Just type in "Chris Hadfield sleeping in space" and it should pop up. He has a tiny, padded room that he goes into and a sleeping bag he zips himself up in to hold him still. He then just lets himself float inside the sleeping bag and says it is quite comfortable because gravity isn't around to pull your head or arms or anything down.

  • @nervmaster

    I quick question. How the HD videos are transmitted? I ask this because I think that internet bandwith in a space shuttle would be extremely limited and every data would be overly compressed... so no HD videos in that way. Am I wrong? There is a good bandwith or the videos are downloaded for long hours? Another alternative would be a physical media... but that is impractical.
