  • It was only a matter of time before I tried out a decent fatigue shirt and you know it had to be OrSlow. I'd toyed with the idea of grabbing one of these for so long but never got to try one and thought they looked a bit too 'loose' But after some great advice from the guys at Withered Fig I took the plunge. Here are my thoughts.
    What I wore:
    Orslow Fatigue Shirt - Green - bit.ly/3xTTAvX / bit.ly/3xT61bg
Orslow Fatigue Shirt - Green Wash - bit.ly/4db5AJT
    Orslow Fatigue Shirt - Eru - bit.ly/3xNSxO3
    Whitesville White T-Shirt - bit.ly/3JEtX52
    A New Medium Loopwheel Tee - bit.ly/3wfFiVY
    Converse Chuck Taylor

Pure Blue Japan XX-011 Selvedge Denim
    bit.ly/3LqjSL3 / bit.ly/3JFIb5u
    XX-013 - bit.ly/3UBiQjn
    IH-666s Selvedge Denim
    bit.ly/3WmeduR
    Converse All Star Hi
    bit.ly/4dbSPP0
    Ray Ban 4362 - amzn.to/3JIDTdC
Also, here are some affiliate links to some of the other items I can't live without. Prices are the same for you, though I get a few pennies here and there.

Thanks Cameron, I really dig mine, had it for a few months now. I have the size two also but wear it in the oversized mode - very tempted by the black, love the cloth!

Very cool, looking forward you seeing how this ages too (even though I imagine it will look great).

You’re spot on about the sizing here, same with the hoodie or sweatshirt which I recommend (tho I stayed with my trouser sizing for them and have a slightly oversized look which also helps with slight shrinkage in the loopwheel cotton). I think Orslow do the oversize look though so sizing down in the tops makes sense if you want fitted. Great brand.

Endclothing had this on sale at 40% off in March and I didn't pull trigger due to: 1) sizing and 2) I checked your Channel and you hadn't reviewed it yet. Good to know for when I spot in on sale again.

Lovely shirt. Picked mine up in a sale for about £90 which was a bargain. I need to wear it more as it’s still pretty stiff but I do like rich green colour. Mine has the same twisted inner placket thing going on too. Originally got size 4 but returned for a size 3.

The inside “flap” which you were not sure of the word is called a placket. Cheers mate !

I have this and the camo version, i just love the material its so soft and wears so nice. Interesting to hear the opinions on sizing, i actually sized up yo get an oversized look in the green and true to size in the camo, i wouldn't size down myself in these and wouldn't say I'm wearing them mega baggy!

I’ve had my eyes on this for a while! Great review! Thoughts on best shirt between this, the IH Raised Whipcord and the IH Serge??

Very nice. Luckily vintage US military gear is very easy to find in Japan so I picked up a 70s one in excellent condition for about ¥7,000 (£36). It looks and feels better with age, I think.

Sweet pickup. Actually ive been wondering with all the sick jeans you have which ones are you wearing the most? Can you do an update on some denim?

I love OrSlow as well, I own the corduroy one you mentioned. We're pretty much the same size, I usually wear size 3 for tops but my jeans 105 are size 2 for some reason. I also own the tropical jungle jacket in size 3, I was actually thinking about wearing it tomorrow. Great brand but quite pricy, I often go for Buzz Rickson's instead for similar items. I don't know why Orslow are always more expensive than these other brands that make very similar military garments.
I like your white t shirt; I only wear cheap white t shirts because I always manage to get them stained mysteriously and can never figure out how it happened so I don't dare buying very good white t shirts.

Also, Kafka in Aberdeen probably has as good a selection of OrSlow as anyone else globally. Far easier to return things if you pick the wrong size. I also find their size guides quite accurate.

I'm 6ft and 42' as well - depends what fit you like because these are a little baggy/oversize i think, hence i dropped to a 2 and its great

I've got an original U.S. Army one from the 1960's/70's Vietnam era I got at the Goodwill Bins (thrift store that sells by weight) here in the USA about 15 years ago. I've come across originals at Buffalo Exchange (USA secondhand resale chain) for $15-20. The military made millions of these. I would not pay big money for them. Same w/ wool peacoats, don't pay hundreds. Go to a vintage shop and get an original U.S. military issued one from WWII on up for $40-85, even cheaper at the Goodwill Bins, you might pay around $10 or so based on weight, will last you a lifetime.

I buy all the military stuff vintage as well but I understand the appeal of breaking in wearing out your own from scratch rather than an already vintage piece.

    • @MrJ3
      @MrJ3 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

I actually disagree. If so, why are not Orslow’s jeans also overpriced? They can barely stay afloat with their Made-in-Japan line, due to costs of labour and material

    • @AncientYouth64
      @AncientYouth64 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@MrJ3 no idea about the jeans but you can get comparable jackets for far less

    • @davebegbie362

I disagree also. I’ve got lots of overshirts from many different price points and the Army shirt is head and shoulders above most others. The inside hem fold is slightly annoying but to be honest it’s very minor. And it doesn’t detract from the overall look.
