I see lots of the 107s with the og 507 style buttons. Wonder if these are all replaced?

No, there were many different manufacturers and if there were buttons from other uniforms in stock they would use them. In this case they probably pre ordered buttons from the button manufacturer and had them on hand and were producing the last of the OG107 type 3s until the cotton was used up then switched to the cotton poly types. There are many strange variations. You can find HBT from the Korean War era with the new then plastic buttons as apposed to the metal 13 star buttons.

That makes sense. I think the old style ones in the video look the best!

The hbt uniforms where actually adopted in 1938 as a work uniform then in 1942 it was being issued at to US Soldiers and US Marines as a combat uniform for the hot pacific theater of the 2nd World War and in 1943 it was issued to Us troops that where fighting in the European theater but some of the troops where still wearing the m37 wool uniforms in the European theater so the US army where issuing both of these uniform to soldiers fighting in Europe a notable example of this is the invasion of Normandy but it was the main combat uniform for soldiers and Marines in the pacific through out World War 2 form 1942 to 1945 and the US Military main uniform from 1946 to 1950 and the early stages of the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 where the og107 uniforms where coming into the picture although the hbt uniform was still being used but in smaller numbers and it was starting to be replaced slowly but they were still wearing the hbt uniforms along with newly arrived shipments of the og107 utility uniform or new soldiers wearing the brand new utility uniforms after the korean war in 1954 the hbt uniforms where completely replaced by the new og107 utility uniform and these new uniform where the main uniform for the US Military until 1989 but just like the m43 hbt uniforms replaced the m1937 wool uniforms the new utility uniforms replaced the old hbt uniforms But awesome video keep up the good work

I have a shirt whose details are almost exactly the same as the type 1 shirt but the pocket flaps/pocket buttons are aligned with the 3rd button from the top. I think I made a mistake on this purchase 😢.

I am sure that you’re probably fine, a lot of different manufacturers made these uniforms, especially during war time, and there are always slight variations. I have had examples of that exact same thing.

@@Ranger504thHi again. Referring to the first HBT jacket you showed. Have you ever come across a similar HBT jacket with small front pocket? The details are as followed. It has the type 1’s silhouette, HBT fabric, 6 13-star button, the front pockets have the same shape and size as the type 1’s, and opened cuffs with no buttons.
Was there a prototype before producing the P58 type 1? Or is the jacket I just described totally fake?
      Thank you very much.

Again, I think it is more than likely a slight variation made by a different manufacturer. Unless it looks completely deadstock then maybe it might be a reproduction.

I've got a first pattern 107 with a USMC stamp on the left pocket. Is that common?

      It’s more uncommon than most.
