I wasn't aware that Freddie was trained. That makes Steve's singing all the more amazing. It's in his DNA. His father was a singer in a band until Steve was born.
Glad you reached to this. Patiently was the first song he wrote with Neil at their first meeting. I've heard him sing live 9 times between 1980 to 1995. Freddy voice and register is amazing. Perry has the tone and emotion that grabs your soul. I've saw many singers/bands and absolutely can say that Perry sounds better live. He has that magical voice.
Always wanted to see your reaction to Patiently. The studio version doesn't compare to this live one. Unfortunately there's no video but goddamn that voice just sends you to heaven
Sweet and Simple is awesome!! You have not reacted to Why Can't This Night Go On Forever. Both songs are awesome!! Steve Perry is number one with me, hands down 🥰
You should react to these. Especially Suzanne, Patiently. Well damn all of them. Steve is my favorite singer of all time. Both Steve and Freddie have probably the best voices. Love them both. They just have different styles. You really can't compare them. Although Steve is my favorite 😍
As for Steve v Freddie... nah. They're both on a level that they can't really be compared that way. Freddie's shit was actually more technically difficult just because his compositions were as insane as his vocals, whereas Steve had a much gentler, natural style until he hit those runs & packed all his showing off into a single breath. But these two prove that there's no competition on God tier.
Recorded ‘Lay it down’ others live ‘Sweet and Simple’ 1978 & 1979 usually sound stages in Chicago and other places. Patiently 1979’ ‘Happy to Give’ doesn’t have a live video that I know , Why can’t this night go on forever’ 1986 Raised on Radio tour
Great Journey songs with Steve Perry such as Sweet and Simple, Winds of March, Patiently, Lay It Down live, I'm Cryin live Osaka, Why Can't this Night Go On Forever, all great songs! Actually anything Perry sings is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 thanks for the reactions😊
I usually hate reaction videos because they don't require talent. But I never miss a Black guy reacting to Steve Perry. Awesome! Listen to Steve on "Winds of March"; the section entering into the instrumental.
I don't know about the other songs, but you can get "Lay It Down" live from 1981 here on TH-cam along with "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever" (the one I found for this wasn't live though).
I think you'd really enjoy John Farnham - Help (LIVE with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra). He's an Australian singer with an incredible voice - the most unbelievable range and control whilst sounding really natural at the same time - and this performance is amazing. 🙂🙂🙂
Honestly, when I get chilled lit, I gotta sing some journey! Just trying to match Steve Perrys vocals is so much fun! Journey gave some of the best music of my youth ...great memories! This was a great reaction video showcasing his talent, thanks! 👊✌
Not sure if you reacted to Stone on Love yet, but you NEED TO! Steve's singing IS Journey. I could listen just to his voice, all day. It's just beautiful
Freddie was a great talent. For me the difference is that Steve was able to perform live and sound much closer to what you hear on the record. Again, for me, Freddie always used way too much vibrato at times when it didnt seem necessary.
Seriously we are compairing Steve and the Queer...I mean Queen... singer? It is not a comparision when you can find live versions of steve and see how well he really can sing and Freddie who has a good voice but only remixed vocals. He is not ..even close...to Steve Perry quality. Wow...show us the non edited verson of freddie and you can win this debate.
@@NLTwon I know this is late, but I thought you might like to know that the first clip they used was from a black and white 1978 PBS special. The big man in the white coat playing the guitar behind him was the great Albert King. They still had the original keyboard artist with them, Gregg Rolie, who sang Black Magic Woman when he was with Santana.
I love Freddy too, but for me Steve will always be THE VOICE. he just is 🙌🤷♀️
He was literally the best part of Journey
So so right, he was
Patty-I have a difficult time thinking of Journey without Steve. Steve's the man with the voice.
React to all these songs! You’re gonna be amazed. Freddie is good but Steve Perry is in another stratosphere. IMHO.
Don't talk yourself out of it. Perry is the GOAT.
Freddie was trained Steve is natural
TRUTH...
Steve’s only experience was singing in choir.
Jeez, what a brilliant talent Steve is.
He is the ONLY Voice!
I wasn't aware that Freddie was trained. That makes Steve's singing all the more amazing. It's in his DNA. His father was a singer in a band until Steve was born.
Steve Perry can sing anything. He has the ability to pull you in to every song. Love him❤❤❤
Steve is vocally a freak of nature. His voice is being studied at universities now. AND, Freddie Mercury can't hold a candle to Steve.
you will not be disappointed with any Steve Perry song. 🎶🎵🎶
There has never been truer words.
He is #1 all time vocalists.
Mother, Father will rock your world.
The voice
Steve is THE BEST vocalist, male or female, of all time.

Happy to Give, Why can’t this night go on forever, and Suzanne are definitely ones you should listen to. Journey is my All Time Favorite Group!
🔥🔥🔥🔥outrageous talent
Steve Perry can sing what ever.
He is my NO. 1
Listen To Too late, City of the Angel's,
Something to hide, Winds of march,
Sweet and Simple, Daydream, lay it down, goodmoring girl, Stone in love
All great songs
"Lay it down" has a crazy line too before that one we hear ... easily the best male vocalist i've ever had the pleasure of listening to..
Lay It Down has amazingly good vocals.
Steve is the GOAT in my book!
Now we expect you to react to all of these. 😜🥰
Woooooo thank you for the awesome reaction dear friend!!!
Patiently Live Studio Jam 1979 Concert Rendition is worth checking out for sure, featured in this reaction, better than the studio recording
Freddie doesn't even come close to Steve, truth
You should react to these. Especially Suzanne, Patiently. Well damn all of them. Steve is my favorite singer of all time. Both Steve and Freddie have probably the best voices. Love them both. They just have different styles. You really can't compare them. Although Steve is my favorite 😍
Definitely.....why cant this night go on forever! It is a must listen!
Steve is The Best

Add Karen Carpenter on the "Goddess" side for me lol
That song was my favorite song by Journey!! Sweet and Simple!!
No other like Steve. NO ONE. Like you, there are amazing vocalist, for me, he is my #1

Man he had an amazing voice
Steve Perry and Glenn Hughes. I named them both Scary Perry and Spooky Hughsey. My two favourite singers
Gotta check out Winds of March by Journey, haunting and beautiful at the same time.
The Voice!!! Love his stuff so much...
I usually hate reaction videos because they don't require talent.

O melhor do mundo, Steve, maravilhosamente perfeito...amooo❤❤❤❤

I absolutely agree with you, No Limit Twon! 100%
Steve could sing anything Freddie did. With respect, The same could NOT be said about Freddie
Steve is one of the best ever
Freddy can't touch Steve. Even Freddy admitted that.
Wow, those recordings are SICK!!!!!!
Did i miss a reaction to Open Arms live in Houston? Steve says that it was one of his favorite performances. It is a "don't miss" !
Journey Sweet and Simple is definitive
Honestly, when I get chilled lit, I gotta sing some journey! Just trying to match Steve Perrys vocals is so much fun! Journey gave some of the best music of my youth ...great memories! This was a great reaction video showcasing his talent, thanks! 👊✌
I think Steve Perry would done great doing a duet with Heart
Not sure if you reacted to Stone on Love yet, but you NEED TO! Steve's singing IS Journey. I could listen just to his voice, all day. It's just beautiful
Omg you need to do sweet and simple 😊
the "VOICE"
Patiently was the first song he wrote with Neal Schon. You can find the song on TH-cam.
Steve has been singing since he could walk. 😂 All on this video are songs you should react to.
Love Steve Perry❤ ..in his Primetime but today ????
Please react to “happy to give!”
Be blessed and listen/react to “sweet & simple” and “Too Late!” By Journey- you gotta listen!!!
Patty-Check out a video of Freddie singing with an opera singer
The song is Barcelona.
Freddie was a great talent. For me the difference is that Steve was able to perform live and sound much closer to what you hear on the record. Again, for me, Freddie always used way too much vibrato at times when it didnt seem necessary.
Agreed. Mercury would always sing like he was at a broadway musical. Too dramatic.
@@malegi29 well said malegi29. one sang for dramatics, the other sang for passion.
Have you reacted to Mother Father live in Houston 1981??
I was going to say to listen to Lay it Down.
No brainer why he's known as " The Voice ".
Freddie better than Steve? Noooooo way! Freddie exaggerated his voice and it was average. Steve is the goat!
Please check out Sweet and Simple I think you will really like it
Please react to Steve Perry " Happy to give"
Listen to Journey "Sweet n Simple" ,,,just do it LOL!!!
I loved Freddie Mercury BUT Steve Perry is, by far, the greater of the two!
Absolutely Fantastic my channel is dedicated to my inspiration #StevePerry
What? Steve Perry is in the top 5? When it comes to male rock singer, Steve Perry is #1, and then there are 4 other guys. Period.
Listen to the song Patiently
Suzanne
