Steve is known as "The Voice". He's a one of a kind. I'm not a huge fan of Wheel in the Sky which I see suggested BUT "Seperate Ways" is jusssssssst what you're looking for. Promise!!

Definitely separate ways, don't stop believing, so many other amazing songs, one of my favorites is send her my love live, I can relate to this song, people we cared for and loved gone forever. That song is just so nastalgic to me and sad memories resurface every time I hear it.
His Vice range at the end of wheel in the sky is phenomenal so high I thought it was a synthesizer until several days ago I was listening thru Bose headphones 😮Holy Cow I was stunned😂
Journey is one of the best band ever and even as a solo artist Steve Perry is absolutely amazing, he could sing the phone book and make it sound unbelievable.
Don’t Stop Believing has been selected into the Library of Congress National recording Registry 2022. Recordings that have made a impression in society- can’t remember exactly how they worded it,, but the end of April the song was inducted into the honorable National Library for 1000 years.

One of my favorite Journey songs is “Lights”. Most everyone has a Journey song they like. Their songs were always part of our school dance line up, and hearing it and seeing the group back when I was in high school sure brings the nostalgia back! Steve Perry has an incredible range and is one of the most recognized voices in ‘80’s music.
Lights is my favorite too, but the version that's Lights/Stay Awhile live from Osaka 1980 is the best I've heard!

Back in the 80s we used to have something called the Super Bowl of rock that was done at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando.
I got to see Journey in that playoff!
They ended up playing three times but lost to the Scorpions!
You camped out, got nine bands, (three bands a day for 3 days for $9 a day).
It was called a "Lo-Do Show"!

True!! Steve Perry is a Voice in his own category. Even Randy Jackson (‘Yo Dawg!’ American Idol fame) said so. He was the bass player during the Raised on Radio tour.
Open Arms, Separate Ways (Worlds Apart), Who's Crying Now, When You Love a Woman, Send Her My Love, Lights, Mother Father (use the video from the same 1981 Houston concert), Any Way You Want It, and Wheel in the Sky (pay close attention to the other-wordly note Steve hits during Neal's guitar solo... a lot of people miss it, and think it's a musical instrument, when it is actually Steve's voice). Chain Reaction and Still They Ride are also excellent! You can't go wrong with anything from Journey. Also check out a couple of Steve's songs from his first solo album... Oh Sherrie, and Foolish Heart. They are still touring, but Steve left the band in the mid 90's.
And it goes “on and on”. There is no other like Steve and Journey

“Mother, Father”, from the same concert in Houston, is one of my favorite Journey tracks ever. One of their deep tracks, telling a deep story (it’s about a broken home), and showcases some deep musical skills from every member of the band! Definitely worth checking out!

When Steve Perry opened his mouth you knew it was a gift. At 66 I feel blessed to have lived with all the GREAT MUSIC of my time. You can get lost for hours in the music of the 70's and 80's. And lets not forget the 50's and 60's.
You might like Michael McDonald solo and with Doobie Brothers. He also has a very unique voice.

Listen to “Wheel in the Sky”, “The Girl Can’t Help it” (live with Randy Jackson on bass) and of course “Separate Ways”. Some of their best… but really Steve Perry’s voice was so next level that there really is no bad Journey or Steve Perry solo song.
