Love the video. I’m trying to figure out buying my first laser. Would a CO2 laser be the best for doing something like this? Would a diode laser be perfectly adequate?
Hi, CO2 lasers are generally larger and more powerful machines than diode lasers, but they also cost more too. It all depends on your budget and what size you want to do too really, Diodes are also a lot slower than CO2 lasers as they are not as powerful, But you can cut woods with them, It just takes longer. Very nice gathering of example art work. "Hits the spot" for me as I am looking for a nice/style to focus on. In your research, have you found a way to gather more in-depth statistics on number of individual piece sales? I am curious as to for a middle-range price, say $200, which type of items are "best-sellers". This past Christmas, I built 15 layered card stock pieces for family. All were not my design, but each received a lot of smiles and kudos. Many thanks for all the content you provide. I am an xTool S1 owner and appreciate the videos on XCS.
Hi, There are tools out there such as eRank, Everbee, Alura and EtsyHunt etc which give you some data but I don't think it uses Etsy's own full API, I think they may use some limited version to get some data so these will be your best options. Other than that you can just look at the reviews on each shop and search by the most recent and then visually see which items are selling better than others. At a guess I think maybe only 10% or less of sales leave reviews so again this would only be guesstimating!
