Sure sounds that way to me. Even if it didn't, that cylinder is now under a deep vacuum, so how on earth will it then transfer its content into the low side of the condenser? I think you are supposed to use refrigerant to push the contents of the cylinder into the AC system.
I always inject the acid away or acid scavenger by the refrigerant. Hook the blue hose to the liquid line and another hose from the jug of refrigerant the that canister then open the jug of refrigerant then the valve on the canister hose and your good to go. The vacuum that you pulled on the system (under 500 microns) will automatically create a vacuum in that tube so there will be no air in the lines. Been doing it for 25 plus years and never 1 problem.. Always change filter driers and on a bad acid burnout I recommend a suction line drier as well
@@ACManHeatingandAir Yes I'm changing out the condenser 15-year-old Trane 16 seer and Replacing it with a 16-seer Goodman Condenser. I know the oil was acidic and black! I rather not flush lines for acid contamination

So is this away around flushing with R11 after a burnout?
Do you mean flushing the lineset when doing a changeout?
