Flaky 96 amen. My grandpa was stationed in Vietnam twice and he fell in love with it so he moved my moms family out there. They loved it. They moved back to America once my grandpa was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He died 12 years ago and people he became friends with in Vietnam sent him the most love in the world. I want to go to Vietnam just in memory of him. It is a truly beautiful place.
So true. I planned to travel around Vietnam for 1 month.. Eventually I ended up staying for 5 months. And at the end of this year I am moving to Hanoi for an indefinite amount of time.
My sister visited Vietnam about ten years ago during a remission from cancer. She brought back lots of photos. She said it was such a beautiful country and that despite the terrible things it has been through, the people were incredibly warm and gracious. She was particularly impressed by how people would sit out on the sidewalk in plastic chairs and dine on plastic tables with little stoves everywhere cooking up barbecue. She made me decide to visit after the pandemic releases us from travel restrictions and concerns. I wish I could take her with me, but sadly she succumbed to the cancer finally two years ago. Vietnam is a culinary treasure of the world, and Tony knew that. Thank you people of Vietnam for opening your hearts and educating the rest of the world that it is not the form of government that matters, but what is in the hearts and minds of the people. Much love to you Vietnam.
It’s a tourist trap, had the food and it’s better elsewhere. They should at least ask if you want the extras before putting it down in front of you and charging for it. Just plain wrong as I’m a huge fan of Bourdain and his name and recommendation of this place is being exploited! There’s a ton of bad experiences on tripadvisor.

I'm crying in my noodles! This man changed me as a teenage girl. I learned how to approach, enjoy and understand the food, culture and allure of far away lands. I soaked it all in, and am constantly humbled by being alive and aware in the time of Anthony Bourdain.

I'm in tears. I followed his journeys for 20 years and I miss him a lot. He started what TH-camrs are doing today. Thank you sonny for covering this. I know he wanted to live in Vietnam I don't know why he just didn't find a place and move there we will always remember him.
Sonny, this was an incredible tribute done in memory of Anthony and it’s one I would think he would have loved because the focus was more on the people he met than on the food he ate. That’s what I always loved about his approach to food travel, that there were always people attached to the food and he’d engage with them in such a caring and respectful way. You did his memory proud Sonny and you are someone who carries on his tradition beautifully while doing it your own way, with enthusiasm for the food while graciously and with humor engaging with the people whether it be food vendors, restaurant staff, or the folks that work right along with you. I hope other food vloggers will do an episode out of respect and appreciation for Anthony as well.

I'm from Vietnam. I left on 1975 when I was 7 yo. I live in New York. I have been wanting to go back to see if my family house is still there and, of course, enjoy the streetfood.
Anthony Bourdain was ambassador of food and culture, bringing people together. Somehow he mended old wounds around the world caused by our government. Remember the Vietnam war? Vietnamese people are tough with a big heart, they kicked out the Chinese, then the French and the Americans later, and still they managed to preserve their core identity.
As a Vietnamese, when I heard you said "every nuance of this country", I am basically moved to tears. Thank you for everything Bourdain has done to our locals and thank you every single foreign vlogger paying a visit to Vietnam.
A very well done episode. Not many food vloggers have gone out of their way to create a tribute video for Anthony Bourdain, and what better way to do it then to visit the vendors and street food places that Bourdain had cherished when he had visited Vietnam. I hope, Sonny, you get a chance to visit that Bun Cha place for where Bourdain and Obama had dinner, in Hanoi RIP The greatest food and cultural Ambassador in the world.
I loved Anthony Bourdain, and I haven't been able to watch him since he died, but this is a beautiful tribute to him and reminded me of the magic he gave to the world. As a former travel agent, I can especially appreciate his love of culture as expressed through the food of each place he visited. Thank you--and please do more tributes to him.

Of all the celebrity chefs, Bourdain, through his various travel programs, has done more to expose the world to small fledgling restaurateurs and street vendors than anyone else has. Bourdain's efforts to bring these small time chefs and business owners to the broader public consciousness not only helped these struggling restaurant owner's financially, but it also introduced many people to cuisines - and via these cuisines, other perspectives - that they otherwise would not have experienced. No greater accolade can be bestowed upon a man than the compliment that he acted as a gateway to expand people's horizons. Mr. Bourdain did that in spades, and his skill and enthusiasm for doing this will be sorely missed. Fortunately, he left a lasting legacy in a plethora of food/travel show hosts, who have drawn inspiration from his work, as is exemplified by your show. Thank you Sonny for carrying on that tradition.

I know Anthony Bourdain's love for Vietnam since "A Cook's Tour", every time he starts a new season or new series, I always can't wait for his another Vietnam episode, because we can genuinely see his love for that country in the show, he sincerely enjoying every moment of his trip.

I felt very sad to watch this video but I will explore more and more and learn Vietnamese culture. I love Anthony Bourdain so much and watched all episodes of No Reservations & Parts Unknown. My heart was broken when he passed away. Now that he's gone I feel that you have taken his place. in Spring 2019 My wife and good friends and neighbors went to Vietnam for 3 weeks. We ate at all the places Mr. Bourdain featured on his shows. It was a great and memorable vacation.

A very well done episode. Not many food vloggers have gone out of their way to create a tribute video for Anthony Bourdain, and what better way to do it then to visit the vendors and street food places that Bourdain had cherished when he had visited Vietnam.

Of all the celebrity chefs, Bourdain, through his various travel programs, has done more to expose the world to small fledgling restaurateurs and street vendors than anyone else has. Bourdain's efforts to bring these small time chefs and business owners to the broader public consciousness not only helped these struggling restaurant owner's financially, but it also introduced many people to cuisines - and via these cuisines, other perspectives - that they otherwise would not have experienced. No greater accolade can be bestowed upon a man than the compliment that he acted as a gateway to expand people's horizons. Mr. Bourdain did that in spades, and his skill and enthusiasm for doing this will be sorely missed. Fortunately, he left a lasting legacy in a plethora of food/travel show hosts, who have drawn inspiration from his work, as is exemplified by your show. Thank you Sonny for carrying on that tradition.

I loved Anthony Bourdain. When I came home from work that day, my wife sat me down and told me the news, because she knew I revered the guy. I wish someone close to him could have gotten him some help. But he was who he was, and maybe that wasn't so easy. Such a loss. Great tribute, Sonny and crew. Tears me up.
