Thank you so much for the video! I had mine apart and ready for the new flywheel in no time at all. Got the part from Amazon and it fit perfectly. Everything went back together easily except for the light connector. I managed to get it reconnected and back up in no time at all. Thanks again!
I can't thank you enough for this video. I took the lights off of the fan and tried for an hour to figure out how to remove the remaining light assembly to get to the flywheel. Your video pointed me to the top of the fan motor. I had to cut wires to get the fan down, but yay, my Casablanca Four Seasons is back in operation.
I did replace bearings on all six of my Emerson K55 motors. It includes four Casablanca ceiling fans, one Panama 5 from 1991, one Delta II from 1993, and two Delta II from 1996 with a PermaLock. The ones with a PermaLock was nearly impossible to hammer a shaft out of but I did succeed. Hammering them back in wasn’t as hard. It seems like when it comes to Emerson K55 motor, the flywheel usually outlast the bearings. My Samsung motor, in the other hand, still seems to have bearings in mint condition. No noise and no signs of bearings going bad.
Great tutorial and visuals! I used this as my guide on my Casablanca Stealth which had some minor differences but nothing that wasn't intuitive such as having to remove a spring clip at each end of the shaft or the flywheel connecting to the blade housing whereas this model fan the blades will connect directly to the flywheel. I really like how you show exactly where you are hammering! I'm happy to say that I properly repaired my Stealth and it works perfectly!
+Allan pavon For the motor wires, simply take note of which wire goes to which hole on the connecting pin. For the switches and controls, there should be labeling on the circuit board indicating where they connect.
I got mine at fanmanlighting.com for my Casablanca Bel Air. It was grinding ever so slightly on slow speed rotation. fanmanlighting shipped me a replacement hub, written instructions and a new clip ring. I unmounted the fan and did the fix in about 20 minutes. The hub cost me about $35 Pleased as punch the thing works like new. The trickiest part is getting the shaft that mounts the light fixture removed from the center of the motor shaft and then getting it returned to exactly the right position when reassembled. The position of that shaft determines where the light fixture sits in relation to the rotating hub. Too far up and the thing will grind on the new hub again . . . . too far down and the light fixture will look strange.
Replacing a flywheel can be tough. What is a replacement for a rubber mallet? I don’t have flywheel problems, but I was just asking about it for the future.
Cleaned the blades on my 40 year old Hunter ceiling fan and the 'flywheel' disintegrated. $60 for a new one! Torn between fixing or just getting a new fan.
What was the reason for the flywheel replacement? One reason I hear is that the rubber part of the hub became misshapen from the heat from the halogen bulb.
For Casablanca fans - 1/4 of the decorative shroud is removed. Look for a slot in the shroud above the removable section. Take that one screw out and the quarter-section of the shroud will come down. When you back the one screw off slightly - the shroud section SHOULD come loose easily - - - if it doesnt - you likely have picked a screw that is attached to the 3/4's of the shroud that you DONT want to remove. . . . . tight that screw back down and try a different section.
My fanLady Delta is like yours. It would help more if you mention that the down rod and lightbox/wire fixture come out at the bottom AS ONE PIECE -- no need to take out the switch box from rod. So, for a first timer like me, it's important to mention that you push the rod shat from TOP TO BOTTOM, and not the other way around. I am replacing my broken flywheel today. Thank you for your useful video!!!

Excellent video Daniel! This is an extremely useful tutorial.
Forgot to say that your video kinda helped me replace bearings on my 1993 Casablanca Delta II with Emerson motor.
Excellent video. I got my flywheel out exactly per your instructions. Thank-you.
Okay until I got to removing the shaft on a Casablanca fan. It won't come out even with WD-40. Any ideas?
What about fans that have circuit boards inside the switch housing? How will you remember what goes where?

Allan Pavon uThe
where can you get new spring clips I have one where the clip is broken?
I have the exact same ceiling fan. What was the model number of the flywheel you replaced?
Where did you buy the new flywheel?

When the flywheel droops you get a rubbing noise as it hits some screws
Nice Job!
what do u do if its warped
replace it
I cant hammer the light housing out :)
How do I get the fan down from the ceiling? You don't show how you removed it from the ceiling.

Tysm for the video! Now If I ever get a casablanca fan with a dicked flywheel I know how to replace it with killing the fan.

HUH? THEN HOW ARE YOU GOING TO BANG IT WITH A HAMMER TO REINSERT IT WHEN THE LIGHTBOX IS ON THERE? HE DID IT RIGHT.
I wanna replace the next fly wheel!
My fan will be beaten to a pulp trying to use this method! Does not work with all Casablanca fans even though general assembly and parts are the same!
Not helpful for the 3 speed fans like delta ii
I had a United States Fan Co,
We decided to replace the entire fan with a Harbor Breeze Barnstaple Bay
terrible replacement
Nightmare job. Flywheel wasn’t even my problem. Noise was coming from inside the motor. I gave up and will just replace it.
Definitely doesn't come out that easy. Not moving at all
