Apokolips is a fictional planet appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The planet is ruled by Darkseid, established in Jack Kirby's Fourth World comic book series, and is integral to many stories in the DC Universe.

There was a recent one shot Darkseid comic that heavily explored the socio-political aspects of Apokolips in terms of the anti-Darkseid resistance. Really good book!

Honestly, I wish they would explore more of the military capacity of Apokolips. Like, I wanna see the weapons they produce, starships or warships they might have, tanks, artillery, advance tech, ect. I'm sure some of these things might have been explored in the comics. If you could maybe rundown these things in a future video that would be awesome! Love your videos btw! Keep up the great work! :)
They do have tanks and seige devices.

go look at Bugs Bunny's first iteration or Porky Pig or Elmer Fudd....they all looked way different than they do now....

In comics at least. In general, I would say it's Rick Riordan's version of Tartarus.

Doc Jabberwock: Why do you think they worship Darkseid in the first place? Granny Goodness uses torture as both a part of her indoctrination program, and as part of her twisted sense of fairness and justice. Desaad meanwhile just get's off on it. He sometimes uses scientific-experimentation or interrogation as an excuse, but it has been clear even since the Kirby days that he mostly does it because it turns him on. (I mean his name is even Desaad.)
Planet Apokolips makes the land of Morder look like a nursery school.

P.S: About that bizarre dog cavalry.... Apokolips's warrior guild realized long ago that a dog cavalry has tactical advantages over traditional horse cavalry because dogs are more easily trained; are carnivores with natural hunting, tracking, and predatory instincts; and can follow commands better than horses.
So, yeah...... there was actually a little bit of reasoning put into it, believe it or not

You forgot to mention, Apokolips is a massive planet, scaling it and those on it to a Size bigger then the biggest star in the universe, given how we've seen darkseids hand come through a non-motherbox portal and enclose earth, that's how big he really is, and that'll give an idea how large Apokolips really is.
DeSaad is not Darkseid's brother. He is a native of New Genesis who Darkseid manipulated into joining him.

Disappointed in you Rob for not mentioning Darkseid's other passion.... Comfy seats. I'm not joking, there's a Tumblr of him just chilling on earth seats in actual comics. Like Mary Marvel comes home, he''s in her chair relaxing. Mr. Miracle's dwarf friend dealing with DS chilling looking at a photo album..... It's just so fascinating, like watching Doom just sipping tea and reading a newspaper.

I think in the latest superman story arc we are actually exploring apocalypse right now and its ton of fun
Jim Starlin conceived Thanos with a very different direction and personality than Darkseid. The problem Is that no one Can write Thanos well but Starlin. Most other writers depict Thanos as a one note cosmic potentate Who relies too much on brute force instead of the cunning and resources Starlin gave the character.
Young Justice actually focuses on apokolips for a bit. It sparked my interest with the faction.

The planet apologies always fascinated me. I agree there should be a mini series based on the planet and it’s inhabitants. I really find it interesting that’s it’s basically Asgard after ragnarok
NG is powered by the soul of Balduur while "a wicked queen" who is likely Hela has her soul powering Apokolips. Also, if you don't use a boom tube to get there, you would be tiny since the New Gods are titanic in size. Himon is a rebellion leader based in Armaghetto.
@ComicsExplained One idea that I have been struggling with is Apokolips' and New Genesis' place outside of the multiverse. How can there be only on Apokolips for all of the 52+ DC universes? Does that mean that there is only one Darkseid for all of the universes? Is the Darkseid that attacked Earth 2 the same one who attacked the heroes in the main DC universe?
Planet Apokolips is like a mix of a prison, military base and a weapon factory.
So why is it that every time Granny is on any show or movie, she has a deep mainly voice?
Beyond Omega Level: Stepping on lego
My favorite monster characters in Planet Apokolips are the Parademons because they are more Darkseid's shocktroopers but his own monstrous berserkers of war. Whether be insect-like in the Justice League 2017 movie or reptilian-like the DC animated universe movies. And of course their predecessors the Parademon Doomsday hybrids the Paradooms. Which are more deadlier than their successors that tearing and ripping the Justice League apart.
Paradooms are even more powerful than Darkseid himself.
I know right? These guys are more than not just Darkseid but both Parademon and Doomsday too!

Shirshanya Roy In the comics Mother Boxes are from New Genesis and Father Boxes are from Apokolips. They usually simplify it for adaptions and just have both New Genesis and Apokolips use Mother Boxes
