    Wire Fox Terrier:
Around the late 17th century, Fox hunting became a quite a popular sport in England.
English hunters were not satisfied with their current hunting companions and they needed someone
Who could track the foxes efficiently and, after finding them, could make them come out of their dens.
Breeders began cross-breeding several canines like the English hounds, black & tan terriers, Beagles, Foxhounds, and Dachshunds.
These different breeds formed the basis of what we know today as the Fox terriers.
By the end of the 19th century, smooth and wire-coated Fox terriers were in great demand, both as companion and show dogs.
Some of the Fox terrier’s talents include: hunting, tracking, watchdog, agility and performing tricks.

Wire Fox Terriers are a great breed. They are comoanions, friends and very intelligent. Sometimes it appears that they are understanding euch Word you say. Which doesn't mean they are doing what you say.

Best dogs ever (IF you understand the breed, have patience, tolerance for mischievousness, understand prey drive, extreme curiosity, singly focused attention)!! They will make you laugh every day! So funny! But if you can't laugh if you walk into your kitchen and find your foxie standing on the counter, don't get one. 😂 Nothing is merrier than a wire fox terrier!

I agree that it is all good. I had two, they are loving, jovialand extremely clever. It is pure hapiness. They are stuborn, it's part of the charm. Mine loved bursting balloons, toys, treats, toys, going out... For me they are the best!

Endless hours of laugh. Makes us happy in an unexpected way. Always up to our expectation, as long as we know how much to expect from him. He acts as if he is a well-behaving prince. He bites me.

These comments are subjective, in England wft are usually tricoloured ie white black tan, it is less common to see variations such tan and white. They are protective of their families especially bitches. I learnt to walk clinging on to the Curley coat of an elderly wire. She was used to all the children and often got used to being dressed up in our clothes. All dogs have personalities she was exceptionally calm but she was elderly. Younger dogs have far more bounce ., can play a great game of hide and seek, fetch, play dead and the usual range of tricks, they easily beg as they have flat bottoms. Wft we have had in the past have repelled 2 house breakers, bitten a man who touched my baby sister in her pram. I never let my bitch run free as she would try to climb a treee to get at the squirrels, or disappear down the nearby badger sett. I let her freely dig out field mice from beneath tree roots, and throw out dead mice bits from the compost bins. They have a great sense of humour,, individuals vary in intelligence , males are more feisty than females.😊
