How did you cut it snug around the frame?
Just like you would cut carpeting or wood flooring, by making measurements and trimming carefully.

Sorry, I don’t have a link to the specific product, but you can probably find options when you search online for a vinyl carpet runner. Be sure to find a thick sturdy one, not a flimsy one.
Do you not have issues with your cat pawing/clawing up under the door still, though? We will definitely try this as our cat has clawed at so much carpet at our bedroom door, but she claws under the door frame too. Any tips?
We are fortunate that our cats do not do that. Actually, there is very little gap between the bottom of the door and the top of the carpet; this might be a factor.

Oh no! Sorry to hear. Is it tight around the door jam and does it have length on both sides? Maybe you can try extending the length of the mat on the side outside the door…? Or maybe a heavier material like an office chair mat as opposed to a vinyl runner would be better. If those things don’t work for you, I’m out of ideas at the moment. Good luck.

Yeah, you could try a thicker, heavier material like a chair mat and extending it further on the outside. Just a suggestion to try.
