I love my Player HSS. I made three mods…. 1. Locking tuners. 2. changed out the humbucker to a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates (amazing!). 3. I changed out the tone pot so I can split the humbucker…not quite a traditional fender single coil, but gives the guitar quite a bit of versatility.
I got a player HSS. The tone is very clean and bright. The warmth can only be dialed in depending on the Amp you run it through. An EQ pedal definitely would help it.
thank you very much - very comprehensive review with primarily playing with diff tones (thats EXACTLY what I want to see - way too many review videos spend too much time talking crap). Will be buying one in a couple of weeks hopefully :P
Thank you for the first honest video I have found on the Player HSS, every other video I found the player was diddling on lounge lizard music and not pushing the bridge pickup. I would definitely rip out the pickup and install a Seymour Duncan. I owned a American Strat HSS 16 years ago, had to do the same thing and it was a beast after that. Love Fender but they can't make a decent humbucker.
I find that, apart from your always excellent playing, you have a great tone (whatever the guitar by the way). Would you mind describing your rig (amp )? Thanks
Damn i recently bought this Fender. I have a Yamaha Pacifica 612V II which is about 200€ and a Charvel Dk24 about 400€ more than this strat and yet Strat i my fav guitar i own... I plan next Guitar to buy the Fender Sultana, it looks epic.
I think their great guitars. I just still also think the American made are richer and fuller sounding. I used to think there's not a difference, but they seem a bit blunt or dull. In my strange analogy it's like a grey led pencil being useable, but without be ideally sharpened.
The frets suck on theses. They are the softest I’ve ever had. Dented pretty good in a few hours of playing. None of my other guitars after years have anything close.

When buying your humbucker, did you get a trembucker or the regular bridge humbucker?
250 or 500k pot for your pearly gates.??
@@the_raving_raven just a regular humbucker.
@@kimtearenthlei479 it’s a 500k pot. I tried to smoke it, but…..

Wow this sounds fantastic!
I own one and i love it! Great to hear it in your hands. I reckon i use the neck pickup 90% of the time.
